Every time I petition to a GM, especialy out of game the response time is insanely quick.
For my last petition I didnt even make it to my email inbox intime before the GM responded.
People have no idea how awesome it is to have GM's that actualy care and are fast to handle things.
I come from a game called Eve online where petitioning takes an average of about 7 days for most things.
I would like to express my complete satifaction with the customer service and GM's in this game that are always ontop of things.
It just makes me a feel a little bit better when playing because if something goes wrong they are there to help right away.
Thank you again for your insanely fast response times.
you should have seen their support in prelude/c1... the problem with the support now is it went somewhat downhill... There use to be gms constantly online that would respond and chat with you in a matter of minutes... now the best bet is to go through the out of game system... If the support would have started terrible, and improved to where it is now I don't think there would be nearly as many complaints about it.
Is this a joke or a promo? /gmlist always has no one on it. I haven't had a legitimate GM response that didn't shut me down with an automated response since open beta.
If the responses are not automated, what ever happended to GMs asking whether or not our issues were resolved as they did in the first stages of this game? Whatever happened to GMs that would actually remove third party software users on the spot instead of sending us END PETITION and seeing those users again and again and again farming adena?
The wide-running claims that GMs played favourites and gave out items/experience/banned based on preference. The GMs used to interfere a lot more - they do not anymore, due to the way the situation at the time went.
I've seen plenty of bot trains banned - unless they voluntarily stop operating (and I mean stop operating, as in, not moved spot).
no the suport has realy gone down hill in this game but there was a time when the gm's did play favorates but now theay are so bogged down in proceidure theay cant do any thing there needs to be a middle ground
I really want to see the customer support nobody complains about... oh no wait... that would mean the end of the world... and shortly thereafter hell would freeze over... which would be even worse... better not even think about it. o_O
You're looking at the middle ground. Support is mostly automated now because they can't handle all the requests AND chat it up with people who're thrilled to actually be talking to a RL person. You can't "haggle" with an automated response. (Even though I've tried hehe.)
IMO the other issue is consitency. By using the copy/paste method we get now, they can be sure that the responses given are consistent to each and every petitioner.
You may not like the response, but at least you do get one fast.
As for the cheaters who get petitioned.. well that's a whole nother thread that would just get locked anyhow. LOL
yes somethign did change I beleive it was spam I spoke with a couple years ago at Gencon socal about it. NOw this isn;t to ge thim into trouble ;) and since it was said more of on a side note don;t shoot him. ANyhow, at one time there was a n assigned # of gm's per server so say gmspam would cover kain along with gms ... and ... and theyw ere resposible for the peitions etc. However I feel that did bring al9ot of bias even if it was only on the surface. When lvling in GC if we had some ppl in our party a gm would always appear and talk to us, (her specifically). So I think it was a good idea they moved to where they now have resposiblity over all the servers, so same amount of gms just now they don't concentrate on a specific person.
Once again: Would an actually automated response take half an hour to an hour to arive?
While that still happens, I have full confidence that I'm being dealt with by a real person.
Yes and yes.
It's called a queue. If there are 20 petitions in the "queue" it takes time to pull one, a human being reads it, select the proper canned response and send it, auto close, then pull and read the next one. It's not instantaneous even though it's clearly canned responses. No one in their right mind would TYPE the same answer word for word on a bot issue when most support programs can support good old canned answers. (I've been doing tech support for 9 freaking years)
So that doesn't mean a machine does it, or an automated program. A person sends a canned answer. That's what I get most of the time anyway.
I say automated because it's most likely prewritten and they just choose "bot reply" or something.
I'm not saying no one reads it, I will say though that I beleive someone may just scan it real quick, see blah blah blah botting and choose "bot reply" and close.
Even if there is a copy/paste method of answering questions, what is really aggravating is how GMs end petition without allowing the player a chance to speak. The initial text limit for entering your GM request isn't often enough to warrant a full understanding of the player's concern.
Out of game support, yes, it is very fast. But how good is it?
The GMs are very friendly and polite, and appear to be very helpful as well.
I have active communication with them at the moment about some strange lag, which me and around 20-30 members of my alliance experienced at the exact same time on two different occasions.
And what am I asked to do? -To do a DxDiag scan of my computer, and tell them about different things regarding software on my computer and my internet provider.
It's ok, I did that. I just hope that when they have all the info they need, they will consider that it may be a problem on their end.
A) Those responses aren't automated. Automated responses don't take half an hour.

The /GMlist is no longer used. The reasons for this are many but the two I can tell you are:
1. Bots can read the GM list. -hard to remove bots if they know you are there.
Realy? Didn't know that. I send 30 petitons and at the end i mailed ncsoft and get answer that they will do something about that bots, which are on my way of lvling and getting mats i can't get mats for my armor becouse that bots. And guess what after 2 weeks they are still there, Gm do realy good job, i mean GOOOD job gm's. Im realy sick of hunting mobs with low drops and spoils becouse bots take all good mobs.
Last times im wondering whats point of playing if bots collecting mats and parts and selling them cheap, they lvling chars and so on. I would just say for bot users go to private servers with 5000x rate and be there.
This post is not against anyone im just saying what im thinking.
Yes, when having a query for assistance leaving the petition open should be common practice - I fully understand the auto-close on bot petitions though, you really don't need another.
Oddly enough, writing "please don't close" usually results in a petition talk that stays open. :o
