Cleric > Prophet ... set-up?

Player Questions Started Last reply 21 posts
I have just hit 20 and now wanting to go as a battle cleric .
(if that is possible)

Therefor, as i think i have light armor masteries and not heavy, would a manticore set and dual 107s be the best setup?

Further, whilst many suggest party, party, party to get to level, I will be playing this during off time on my main in short bursts here and there, so are does anyone have any levelling suggestions..

ie: where at 20-25 ..25-30. etc..

any suggestions much appreciated.

(and just out of interest.. i found relying on mage style fighting leaves me with no mp very quickly and lots of down time.. so is it best to do a mix if equipped for fighting?)
Manticore and 107s is the way to go. Mage style fighting leads to lots of down time.

20-24 AC
25-28 OB
28-32 PH
32-35 EG
35-38 Breka Orcs
38-40 Deaths Pass
thankyou so much... now the next shock

havent used manticore boots in a year or more... when i last used them the market price was 300-400k.. now 2.5mil! woah
2.5 million??!! What server are you on? If you are on Devianna i can fix you a pair for 2 million easy in a few days. :)
CLAYMORE NOT 107s.

Grrr.

with his low accracy the fists might be better. ^^
True.

BUT NOT 107S GRRR.
What's wrong with 107s? Claymore is slightly better on SS but not significantly. Claymore would be good but fists are a big NONO. Prophets accuracy is fine and their crit buffs want a weapon that will take advantage of them... fists will not.
Is it possible to have a battle SE?

Is it possible to have a battle SE?

With PP buffs, maybe. :p
The biggest obstacle to the Battle SE is their lack of Heavy Armor Masteries. They can eat Haste2 pots but they're still missing many buffs (Holy Weapon, Zerk, Magic Barrier, Resist Fire, Resist Poison, etc.) both offensive and defensive. Basically, with Prophet buffs you can do it but still not as well as a Prophet.
kk.. Ill stick to xp parties then.. Thanks! ^^
I've heard of an SE soloing EV with ease.

Before the windshackle nerf, both EEs and SEs soloed significantly better than prophets in terms of taking damage... and frankly even now, I don't think that a prophet's heavy armour mastery is vastly superior to VR and greater heals.
I have a lvl 35 cleric and currently have +3 107's and manti set up. I have only tried three setups with the 107's manti, sages rag and mithril tunic set. If you can afford dbsps and dss on a spam rate then all are pretty simple. I was doing this just to see if i wan to go battle prophet in the future.

In AC mithril was just fine with 107's. Then i did the quest in gludio for the 42k sp dont remeber the name. I used the manti and mithril setup there. With the manti set i just used the mp till about half was consumed then switched to ss. On the mithril set i spamed dbsps and only dss when in trouble.

In eg sages rag did not pan out well, just about the same as mithril just more mp but slower run speed. Mithril set is nice just can't fight the first lvl mobs w/o resting, non stop 3rd lvl. If i wear manti non stop and spamming shots then anywhere but the trees a tricky.

So i think if you solo then manti is the set for you, just keep an eye on your mp. The buff round will hurt a bit, just use ss till it cmoes back up. should work well.

good luck . go devianne
Oh, and kuro is on gustin, i know him :)
Battle Prohet is a really hard route to go! I tried it out when my Prophet hit 40 and using the full plate set her hp went from 1000 to 1400 which was awesome but her MP went from 1000 to 743 which was bad! and when it came to buffing my group as well as healing them it was difficult cuz I didn't have as much mp as I use to! I wish it worked out differently thou :( Battle Prophet would of been cool :)
the information is wonderful.. keep it coming!

yeah, i'm on gustin!

and prices for the D-grade light set part with bonuses that are craft only are obsurd atm.

lol.. and kurobear is a little low bad dwarf :) that seeds and spoils like a determined little beaver...
You don't take heavy armour to a group - if you're going to get heavy and don't have robes, you shouldn't try grouping. :p As you realised, it's difficult. Most PPs that use heavy in groups have robes for the buffing.
Exactly I use my robes now for grouping and my crystal staff and since my prophet is always in a group either with rifts or raids or clannie's I gave up my mission for "Battle Prophet" lol But it was interesting as long as it lasted!

I disagree with saying that Battle Prophet is a hard route to go. You just didnt play it right. Once your in hvy armor your no longer a party buffer. The best you can do is solo buff, and maybe give out haste and zerk to party if you do play in one. Most battle prophets solo either alone or with a pet, or even better duo with a dd and they tank. Without zerk, my pdef at 40 topped 650 and with duals I was holding the aggro well. So I became the tank with great buffs, and I had a wolf for dd, or later made a bd and a sh friend and lvled with one of them depending which was on.

In either case, 1000 mp is still enough to self buff and give a few buffs out to a duo, pet, party etc. But you just have to tell them straight up. I dont heal. Use health pots. I used hp pots since I was lvl 1. Kept my mp for nukes till 20 and for buffs and heals after 20. I had no downtime this way and I lved pretty fast.
I was saying it's a hard route to go.. IF your not sure hwo to do it! Thats the thing and if your willing to giveu p basically on buffing & healing for groups and parties! Considering my Clan always needed me to heal them straight out and always wanted me to buff I found it easier to wear robes as long as I was always grouped I was getting great exp :) I found a Battle Prophet as you said was meant to solo with a pet but I tried to solo for a bit and gave it up cuz I was always invited into a group and I really didn't want my Clannies to die so I basically excepted the fact that they would expect me to heal them if it came down to it! So I changed my route from Battle to just normal buff prophet instead and I've been happy with it since :)
