We did well and lost ,there is nothing you can do when every SH crashed all the time inside festival but i am ok with that because at least we tried it and did our best.

Now, as you all may know... I am known for talking trash, and getting people to hate me. Its no big secret, people are going to either like me or hate me by the first sentence that comes out of my mouth. But this isn't the point, I can see where trash talking could be fine, but sometimes on these boards to flame someone or to trash talk like some of you people do is just plain ridiculous. Trash talking about Synergy not winning the Seven Signs or whatever is one thing I see. Trash talking because you lost a fight against your enemy, weither it be because they zerged you or because you lost because of a fair fight and they just were better tatically. How come we all can't just say "Gf" after a pvp, no trash talking or anything.. Truthfully, I don't think it could be done, but I'd just rather put out my opinion and my thoughts on it. You'll see from me from now on, no trash talking after a pvp, just a simple "GF", or "Good fight" nothing extra needed..... I challenge the rest of you to try it.

Although when you pvp a RL friend you do need to throw in a tiny little bit of trashtalk but the playfull known to be joking kind you know? :) Nice post Candiria and the same Kudos to those NM and Syn members taking the same stance on the trashtalking.

Depends. Trash talk begets trash talk. I generally just keep my mouth shut but some people need to be put in thier place. Candiria is fairly good at that and it would be a shame to lose such an experienced verbal abuser.

FTR we're on the same page with [censored] talking. Between friends, it's one thing, I talk [censored] to my buds all the time, no one ends up butthurt.
Talking [censored] to a competitor (ie.. PWNED, NOOBS, you're neutral, carebear, etc, etc) is just poor sportsmanship and makes a person appear as though they are trying to compensate for being underdeveloped in the groin region.

I disagree, I think the forums are just as important as ingame. I've gotten quite a few recruits who joined because they saw my posts here and agree with the way I play the game, and the style with which I play it.
You're right on the money though, I don't have any impact on the game whatsoever, just a lil nobody with an unimportant alliance that doesn't do much of anything.

yes it was a gf at dion last week. However define the term goodfight....i have no problem saying GF when it was a GF, but must you say it every time. Is it actually a GF if a raid group ganks 1 person hunting by themselfs. Perphaps it is if he gets a chance to fight back, however maybe its not if they kill him while he has mobs on him. Is that actually what you would call a good fight? think about it.....You guys can carebear it up and hold each others hands and keep all the castles for as long as you want....and we wont have any real good fights or sieges.
To me a gf is needed to be said when its actually a gf. You say it to show sportsmanship. "Hey you beat me this time, next time i might beat you"=GF. However is a zerg against a helpless healer actually a GF. I wouldnt say GF if i was the healer or the zerg. Many of you, use the term "GF" as an attack on the person you are fighting.

To me, you are a nobody if I've never fought alongside you or against you. If you dropped me with an 8k crit, I know you as a threat. If you lose and spam chat with trash, I know you as an idiot. If you 9/10 times say good fight win or lose, I know you as someone I respect. War is the best place to get to know people in this game.

Yea, and i agree with that, i've gained and lost respect for certain people when fighting them. But because GG hasnt faught each and every clan on the server, all we are called are nobodys and zerglings? Would you rather us take our average of lvl 60-65's to fight a clan with an average of 76's?

I say GF even when my XP group gets rolled by a PvP group of peeps 10 levels higher.
Here's how I define GF.
GF = I had fun.
winning or losing has nothing to do with it for me, of course, Winning is always more fun than losing.
For some people though it's only a GF if they won.
Same as if you play sports, at the end of the game, usually both sides shake hands and say "Good Game" to each other. Even if it was a total blow out, they both say "Good Game" as a sign of sportsmanship, and as a sign of respect for the other team.
Now if the winner goes beyond that and starts gloating, then that would be poor sportsmanship. Same as if the loser starts making excuses for why they lost, bad sportsmanship.

Your making assumptions about what are plans are though when you say this. You don't have any personal experiance with us, and have no idea what our plans are. I wasn't around when all these "firsts" happened. I'm happy with saying "The first time GG did ....", i dont need to compare our alliance to everyone else has done to get some kind of satisfaction. Every day members of GG have something to be proud of, Dinging lvl 70, finally getting a piece of equipment you've worked your *** off for, ect. All i really care about is our own little community.
3-4 x the numbers at lower level has proven to be affective pvp stradegy. EA did it with FS...The reason many of us dont fight in zerg numbers anymore is its no fun if you are higher level and you have a zerg. But 200 lvl 66s can easily take 40 lvl 75s in a siege. But then it comes down to whos the better at stradgey and pvp. It becomes a chess match. And just because you see someone 75....doenst mean they play there 75. I would say over 50% of synergy uses there subclasses for pvp...especially during the war. Many of us have finished our 3rd class quest and are burnt out on mains so they play subs. So you arent really fighting a 75. There is only 2 (i believe) lvl 75 lvl 75 in synergy.... Its preptty lawl when someone bsoes from your low level sub....just because they see your name. (i know this probally happens on both sides, however i think we just see it more because we have more eneimes)

We are doing something new.
We do not allowing cheating in any of it's forms, we are as close to 100% legit as we can possible be. (You can never be 100% sure on ebay, but if we have some proof or even strong enough suspicions people are removed.)
Of course, it is a much longer and more difficult road, but the one we have chosen for ourselves.

Got nailed by Lickn for like 8k while he was untagged, takeing full lose. It is still fun as hell and it was a GF, but it doesnt mean im going to throw myself at him every day lol.

Clans/alliances ended up going under because of it. But this isnt everquest...its a **** pvp game. Thats why many people left....c1 grind was just ******ed at high lvls. Now you have a plethora of clans alliances that have the resources to make a move but they are just unwilling... In previous chronicles....the resources werent there and they still fought. To me thats a gf...carebearing it up is not worthy of a gf.

If we recruited for sheer numbers, we would be a zerg, but we don't. Our alliance has been active for about 8 or 9 months now, and has grown to the point that we average between 40 and 50 people online at once most evenings. That's really not alot of growth for 9 months, especially considering that HG as a clan has been around for about 18 months.
On top of that, like I mentioned, we play legit, and the majority of us play fairly casually, so nope, we're not the highest levels or maxxed out in gear.
What you don't hear is us crying when we lose, which has happened plenty of times.

I'll tell you why people leave the most.
They cheat to get to a nice high level, say in the top 10% of the server, then they cheat to get the very best gear. They do it so they can be the very best at PvP.
Then they find out that less than 10% of the server can PvP against them competitively, then they get bored, because they skipped past 2/3rds of the game and they quit.
Sure, there are people who find alot of fun in waxing people who don't have a chance against them day in and day out, but most people get bored of that after a relatively short time and they go somewhere else.
In a nutshell, that is what happened to most of EA. As I recall, the number one reason for them leaving was boredom. No one would fight them. Why? Because they were **** near impossible to compete against, and losing day after day is not all that much fun.
Your alliance was built on purpose of nothing but the top 5% with regards to levels and gear. There are very few people who can compete with you straight up head to head. So what do you expect to happen?
i am not even talking about synergy in comparison...because synergy is kinda unique right now. You say you wont throw your self at lick. Thats fine nobody excects you to go hunt him down. Nobody is telling you too. Nobody even expects you to come looking for pvp with synergy. this isnt a whine for you to do that. I wouldnt do that if i was you either...ok maybe i would but regardless.
Its hard to group synergy into this debate in comparison because synergy is at funny state right now. Im not really sure of the offical stance of synergy, howeveor pretty much if they want you dead they are gonna kiill you, you dont really have a choice about it. Synergy is on the brink of playing this game as i always imagined it would be at end game. If someone is in your xp spot, and you want it, you ask them to leave nicely if they refuse and you still want it, you pvp for it. Sure if you have other options you can go somewhere else to hunt....but the way the server is and the way synergy is right now...they are the only ones playing like this so its dangerous. We might not really have a realistic option to leave and go somewhere else because there are few places safe enough ot work off karma ect. So in our own right we are forced to pvp for an xp spot if we want it. The other force doesnt have much of an option.
They can either leave the room when asked or they can be forced to play to synergy level and pvp for it, because if they dont they might be killed for it. This happened a couple weeks ago in IT against a group of friends. We needed the xp spot to burn off karma, they wouldnt leave, so we were forced to kill them. We let many of them take b-rez. Many of us felt bad about it.
NM is just as strong as synergy..(just as many high levels) more allies ect. However im sure if we were still in nm we would of went somewhere else. Thats fine thats the way they play. Its not a flame against them either, however i hope one day nm plays to the next level also (they might be already, been a long time since i was in nm).
other alliances are not at that lvl yet...but there is hope. You do not need to be top lvl to play to this lvl...i encourage you all to attempt to play at this level even at low levels. l2 is marketed a as pvp game w/ tremendous politics. I recentlly been leveling my alt...i started playing him again at 35, hes now mid 50s. Hes the gimpest pvp class in the game (dorf) and i play at the same level that i do wtih my main. When i loose a pvp i dont come on my main and grief them. Im not saying everyone has to go out and be an ***-hole...that takes a certain breed...but do not wait for max lvl max gear to play to the level you have dreamed of. I have heard alliance after alliance from every chronicle since beta making the arguement when they get max/top lvl gear they will pvp hardcore. Hardcore...is something that is done at every lvl.
lol...in previous chronicles (c1 and prior) nobody even heard of bots. I mean maybe a couple did ...but seroiusly unless i am completely alone on this...nobody botted. C2 was the begining of the botting phase...and in reference to my post many of the high lvls had quit b4 the botting took place. WOW was the reason we lost a huge player base.....not botting. Now it might be a different story
tbh..i have never seen the char of bigh****...and if it wasnt for the formns i wouldnt know the name of a single GG player. However thats not a flame to them...i wouldnt know many of the player base of the neutral alliances.....
Yeah heh. When we had a war going with WLE I got confused as hell as to who to target. Not a single name was famliar. Ended up shooting a Gladiator who I thought was the SpS standing behind him.
I dont blame you. I would do the same thing, if you want an XP spot and someone comes into it, PvP or switch. I would give you guys a wide berth if your working off red, just because i dont want to waste 4%. However, if im in FG and someone comes into my area, i either try to kill faster, talk to them, switch or PvP. Most of the time just chatting is what does it. I'm more social then i am competitive. I have respect for some members of synergy, and others i just dont have any experiance with them to care about it at all.
I wasn't trying to make it sound like i thought you were making an attack on GG, but, what you are saying is that we (and alliances like us) shouldn't be afraid to do diffrent things. Well, why would you say we are. When Synergy/LCN/GG were in that lillith room together, we wern't afraid to fight. We didn't leave Dion alone after we lost it because we were afraid to fight back. We didnt stop sieging after losing 3 times in a row at innandril. Its just a matter of goals that we want to accomplish first.
I know that i do play this game for the PvP, as most of us do, but im not ready to just log in and do that most of the day. It's fun to go hunting for war tags, and to PvP at random just outside of some town gate, but, i also find it fun to help someone seed for there gear, go on a random raid group with an alt. ect. ect. Some day it will be mostly about the PvP (ill probably roll a mage at that point lol) but I know alot of friends who arn't there yet either. Doesn't mean i respect them any less for it.

TBH and FRANK... the people that make there names and are "well known" do it because they are exceptional at there class. There are either exceptionaly bad at it...or exceptionaly good at it..Both will make you well known. There was a time were in pvp you knew every char you were fighting (even if you never spoken to them). You also knew the non threats (not necesarily because they were low level, but because they sucked at pvp). Now you only know very small % of the gustin server. Bighands you keep saying how legit your alliance is...gratz to that (not be sarcastic either) I was in many alliances that tried to make this claim, but nobody passes the test of time.
If you wanna be a **** about it....i guarentee your clain/alliance isnt completely imune to EULA violaters. Unfortunately if your gonna make a claim like that you have to be absolute otherwise whats the point. If your members are account sharing they are violating. Its a stupid rule...however so is j-walking. Everyong is guilty of breaking that law at one time or another.
Now it comes into play- the code of ethics. LET ME BE THE FIRST TO TELL YOU...in video games....you can try to be as ethical as you want...but at some point you must realise this is a game. A GAME!. YOU ARENT KNIGHT sitting at a round table (if you roleplay), you are a nerd sitting at his computer screen. Play it like its a game. Some ethics are ok and valued (drop gear you give it back, you buff people that ask ect).
Trust me nobody was more ethical then ubquitious and Tyriis was back in ashen days. TBH it was our downfall (one of them). Ubquitious now plays kuladan fyi. Hes always bragged about being imune to cheaters ect...i pmed him yesterday about catching one his members botting near HV. He told me he was a new member and he would be watched ect. Nobody is imune....play it likes it a game. Some things are out of your reach...you cant stop everyone from cheating...i personally dont like others that ebay and cheat..but i cant stop it so i accept it until ncsoft does something about it. To me as long as they dont whine when they get punishd (banned)....they are taking a chance cheating and they know the risk that goes with that chance.

i have never seen the char Durgoth either...or any other of the names i see in GG or alliances alike. your still mising my point. I am not saying make a name for your self to appease my need to know who you are. Im saying you guys talk so much on these forumns but there so little action coming from your end of the server. You guys talk about goals to gear up chars and get lvls and stuff and then you will take bigger goals. Im saying there really no reason to wait..the server is designed right now if you made a pie chart of all the different sides (any of them is capable of steping up to the plate). Nm is very small right now...synergy is small (kept that way on purpose)....sw has the capability to be the next forcoe....GG has prospect...Even Invictus has prospect to do something...this isnt like previous times were nobody even had a chance. 8 months ago if you werent NM or M you didnt have a chance to do anything big, b4 that if you werent EA you didnt have a chance...b4 that the server was lock down...b4 that if you werent VVV, ASHEN, or EA it was difficult. Right now...anyone has the chance to step and do something huge. Everyone just waiting for who its gonna be. Nobody thought NM could brake away from EA and do what they did, however they shocked everyone..even there own members who were hesitant about hte decision. I never, ever, get involved in someone elses politics on the forums, go look at my posts. Most of them are answering questions or just goofing off. Its something i like to do when i get my work done. I'm not talking big and not showing any action. I'm not talking big at all.

I'm not missing your point. I understand it completly. But, for one, were not going to announce on a board what plans we may or may not have, and two, we are up on server politics, and know what the server looks like right now, and it is a very interesting time, i agree.
Why is it that when people are "winning" the [censored] just spews out of their mouth like niagra falls, but then when those same people start to lose they complain about the trashtalking?

What you are referring too though is the circles we play in. You don't recognize me because we don't xp in the same spots, probably due to a level gap. One of the major changes after C2 was the addition of a TON of hunting spots. It's not like the old days when everyone was in CT or TOI.
I could be PvPing every day, as long as it's not against you, you'd never know it.
The other thing you mention is a playstyle choice, and an identity choice. Your alliance has chosen the style of shoot first, ask questions later, including constant PvP. Mine has not, we prefer diplomacy and politics before PvP. Those playstyle choices identify our alliances.
We can argue all day about which the game designers intended, it's much easier to say that we have chosen different styles. Maybe some day your style will change more to be like ours, or ours might change to be more like yours.

You didn't directly kill me, but your alliance CP heals did once up near BS port in, we were fighting PeeKay.
I assisted in killing you once at the Dion siege, and once in Lilith's lair, you were red.
Other than that, I don't recall us crossing paths.. I don't think I've ever seen you xping or anything. Most likely due to either different play times, level gap, or just plain ole difference in preferred xp spots.

I read these forums every day. I know most of you only by the forums. I think I have seen only a hand full of you in game. I have been in HG for a long time now, basically since it was first started. I think I have only a total of 4 posts on here, if that! Some one said that they have never seen Durgoth or Bighands in game. If you see Bigs in game, it will be at a siege only. HOg Cannon FTW! Durgoth is on almost all the time at night, if he isnt on one of his ats.
I dont know what Duke thinks about this, but mabey we should all meet on night at the Colloseum or something. Lets have a fun night there, with no XP loss. We can all meet and BS with one another. You can teach us a few things and mabey we might teach you a few things. I am not trying to sound like I am dissing any one so please dont take it that way. I just thought it might be fn, to get away from the normal grind with no XP loss. Then oyu can acctually meet us!
first off i highly doubt synergy would show up to this event lol. You cant have accurate pvps in colissieum or arena for several reasons. you can use skills that require the person to be flagged...cancel silence. I know your gonna bring up the point of clanwars..however anyone thats been in a clan war this chronicles knows how annoying holding ctrl is.....so its still not the same.
2nd point is in arenas you cant stop the trolls from spoiling it. the dubai of the world that will gank you as you step in or out...and then shout OWNED OWNED OWNED, this type of pvp is not the kind we go for.
3rd point- you only get pvp adrenalline rush when you know if you die your gonna loose xp...without its no fun.
4th....lets not get into a ******* match..i frankly just said..its very hard to tell you guys apart....not many of you stand out, as do others in other clans. Most names are not recognizable. thats just my opinon.

i didnt like where this thread was going so i hijacked it and flamed to make things intresting....i think i said that in my first post.
i come across very harsh and direct in these biased posts....but to anyone that knows me....i do it out of sheer boredom...yesterday in vent i tried to made the argument (hypotheticaly) *i was stoned*, about how farmers should try a farmer *group* with 3 bishops, 2 ee, 1 se, bd, bountyhunter, and prophet....to farm undead to lvl 70. my only reasing was to see if it could be done. anyone that takes me to heart...doesnt know me well enough. these boards are often boring so i take a stance (often unpopular on purpose) to strike an intresting debate.
to bighands and company, i know all about clans your position, i have played the politics with the best of them...again nobody and i mean nobody was moring poltical then tyriis a co-officer of ashen (original). I think he made me hate politics along with many other oldschool aeaa.
