I just wanted to let everyone know that I purchased a 200 man Teamspeak server for super cheap.. actually it was cheaper than I was paying previously for a 25 man server so i decided to go overboard and offer everyone on here a chance to get on and speak to friends and such for free. If your interested. Also, If you have a clan that you want a specific channel made for on the server thats passworded. send me a message on the forums here or email me at [email protected] and I will make it. Just include the channel name that you want and what password you want me to set and i'll be more than happy to make you one and give you channel admin. I've created public channels for each server. Users can idle in the public channel for their server and chat.

but wow..seriously..wow..its truly refreshing to see some one that does something not just for them selves in this world...uber props for you man...offering something that you pay for is truly a nice thing and in the long run something good will happen to you for being nice to other people. ;)
Not a problem guys.. just help me take advantage of the 200 users. we currently have 2 people on =]. Tell friends that dont read the forums etc.
Also, Everyone says that vents better. I prefer TS because of the scripting abilities and the micromanagement that you can do to each user permissions wise. and i think the interface looks hella cooler than vent.. vent looks like aim on crack.

i currently host several 300 man TS Servers without charge..
I provided one for the c4 PTS... thought not everyone used it as usual, but it was there.
i currently max out at around 2000-3000 people all comunicated across all the servers.... Can't do that very long mind you, my bill would be huge.
Ventrillo has the newer Voice Codec, the only thing making TS2 a little behind, but all other areas, TS is better.. But meh, TeamSpeak 3 is due out any minute now.

Then you have to set up volumes, various sound clips (or its bracket bracket bracket bracket bracket bracket bracket bracket bracket bracket one one silly boy bracket bracket bracket bracket bracket has joined the channel), bind keys, etc.
Just wanted to remind everyone that the teamspeak server is still available. we have about 30 people on throughout the day. tell friends about it. We have channels for multiple games. Even if you dont have a headset or mic hop in and listen. its a good way to coordinate raids etc.
Were starting to get a nice turn out on the server. There have been as many as 25 people in the Lineage 2 Public channel talking it up. JOIN US and make some new friends.
to bad it wasnt ventrillo. Teamspeak is SO **** bad wont even install that garbage on my computer :P
please tell me why TS is bad?.... if you can't... don't say a word.
TS right now, has every advantage over ventrillo except 1 major thing.
the GSM Standard on TS is 2+ Generations old.
Other then that, it's superior in it's use.
TS3 is due out any day now anyways which solves every issue with TS2, plus provides us with an even newer GMS codec standard, and just about everything under the sun is improved.
Reguardless, TS is both more user friendly, has full administrator controls, full Moderation controls. Much easier and clearer Mic and Headset setup. It's a bit gravely in comparison to ventrilo atm, but still very very clear. Resource wise it's just as good. And, i've never had TeamSpeak crash which i can't say the same for ventrilo.
And being that it's a public setup, TeamSpeak is the server of choice due to administration abilities.
this revolves around that fact that 90% of the TS systems setup, are setup incorrectly.
Plus nothing is to great when using only one sound card to.... just makes mixing crap together even more difficult for things to work.
Reguardless, TeamSpeak at anything below Speex 9.3kb/s will sound a bit tinny as it's saves bandwidth, most of the current codecs (old) sound tinny due to running at a very low quality rating to perserve bandwidth and to make it more versitile. But TS2 is getting **** old... awaiting TS3.
The reason Ventrilo sounds better is strickly due to using 2 full generations newer codec and a much more recent setup of handling things. You can run at a higher codec and still use realatively similare bandwidth (better sound and similare bandwidth use). The codecs are more efficient, but the ventrilo client and server are garbage in comparison. It's just a flashy nice gui that's hard to get around and useless features such as Text to Speech and crap that doesn't make something "great" in comparison. It's not difficult to use, TS3 will most likely have it as an option, but blah, it'll be disabled for me anyways most likely.
GSM = Basically a world standard in communication technology. GSM Codec is a standard used by most of all communications that are digital using a standard GSM codec.
When you fire up your phone, your most likely going to be using a GSM Codec to speak and hear, it's the method in which your voice or the audio you hear is compressed, transmitted, and uncompressed to provide the best audio clarity and quality.
the GSM standard is always being updated, and made to be backwards capable. (so that new phones can still speak with old phones basically).
Every generation of a new GSM provides generally fixes to how the codec works, and updates to provide either faster better connectivity (less lagy, timeouts), better quality audio, lower bandwidth use, and more higher quality audio options.
the GSM that Teamspeak uses is a very low 11Khz format to start with (all codecs are that), plus each codec up uses a fairly large amount of bandwidth.
Ventrillo currently uses a GMS that us a full 2 generations newer, allowing 22Khz audio (which will produce a more real life audio quality ..removing the "tin can" sound). Additionally, it lowerst the bandwidth uses by previous codecs significantly if possible while retaining there quality, and introduces higher quality standards that use even more bandwidth.
All in All, GSM as far as i know hasn't made it quite as far as using CD Audio quality (44khz) yet, but i suspect that TS3 may use it (which it make Ventrilo sound similare to that of TS2 currently does in comparison)...
We'll see. But that pretty much gives you the low down.

I went to the TEAMSPEAK site and I noticed their link for authorized hosts.
I cannot find CARIBE HOST or anything similar to this name on their list. The reason I asked is because I am currently paying for 50 man Teamspeak server. I know there are plenty of cheaper sites out there but most are not legit.
Have you checked to see if this commercial host is legit with the Teamspeak people? If they are legit then I am sorry for bringing this to your attention. Gratz on the 200 man server. If and when I can get 50 people to use all of my slots, I will increase it to 100. :cool:
Anyways, this post is just a headsup on legal servers and some who are not.
Hey! That was a really kind thing you did for L2 players, who may not have a home for voice communications. I have had a couple TS and Vent servers for the few clans I've been in over the years, and usually could bring anyone on that I wanted to, even if only temporarily. The clan I am in now does not allow anyone on our voice comms unless they are clan or alliance members.
All too often my old school friends ask if they can get on my vent/TS for ease of noobie/alt raids or grouping or such basic activities. I feel like the bad guy when I have to tell them no sry you're not uber enough ^^ but joking aside I have been wanting a solution to it.
A huge public Teamspeak server provides exactly that! So props to you! However. . .
I get on your TS server one night and theres not that many people on. That's all fine and well, I get on the next night and WOOOOOT theres 30 people in the Lineage 2 channel! I see you have channels provided for other games as well, and its nice and organized and all that. So I get into the L2 channel to say hi or ask who's from Kain (my server LOL Kain I know I know..) and if anyone wants to go event raiding or my latest addictive discovery, the dimensional rift!
I get no more than 1 word out and I am cut off by explosive screaming brazilians! So I'm like oh oh I'll sit this out a moment and listen in. I don't speak portuguese or any other language except cuss words in Chinese for obvious reasons.
They're raiding or very excited about something because I can hear some words clearly "PICK AAHP PICK AAHP! zomg OMG" and giving directions to everyone.
When the smoke clears I say slowly and clearly HELLO is anyone English? Yes? I need to ask 1 question please. They act like I'm not even there or rudely interrupted them.
One guy who can talk English pulls me down to another channel and I ask wassup.
"OH, THEY ARE MY FRIENDS WE PLAY ON PRIVATE SERVAR TOGEZZAR L2 X***ME DO YOU KNOW"

Point of rant: Look who's taking advantage of a service already that's supposed to be for something else and more legitimate. I'm sure those guys spook away anyone else who tries to get in there as well. That's just an opinion sure but go see for yourself. I'm not kidding when I say they are screaming at the top of their lungs constantly. All of them hehe. This has been going on for a week.

You have to understand. Im not offering this server for any specific game. I play Lineage 2 Legit. But i offer Teamspeak to whoever wants to use it. the only thing that i ask is what channel they want me to make, what password and what game. I've also put the information up on many other forums to offer a free service to anyone who wants to use it.
as for the authorized. they were when i purchased the server a few months ago. i emailed them asking them whats up with that.
I found a google cached paged of them being authorized. i've sent an email to caribe to see why they arent on the list nemore. I've checked the blacklisted group and they are not in there so perhaps they are just awaiting listing agian
