I'm currently lvl 13, working my way to a Prophet. I haven't bought any skills yet, and I was wondering what skills i should buy between now until i reach prophet class. Also where is a good place for me to lvl easily and quickly?
Stay on Talking Island until you reach lvl20 and you shall do the Cleric quest.
Use only mage style all the way to lvl20-25, after that get your self some light armor and some duals and start melee.... this is actually quite fine, as you start to get the first buffs.
The best is to always play in parties with other, because the cleric/prophet is a support class, not supposed to solo.
When you reach lvl40+ I strongly recommendate you go the "battle-prophet" way, because Prophets gets masteries in Heavy armor.

Good luck.
The only problem with battle prophet way is that the armour is heavy and you lose a big amount of mp when I hit 40 I decided to try the "battle prophet" way and I had Full Plate Set on and my health was over 1400 BUT my mp went from over 1000 to 736 which was hard when I was with my clan members in the catacombs trying to buff them all as well as have some mp left over for healing it didn't work out as well as I hoped :( So make sure to ask some people about "battle prophet" before you decide to go that route!
Have a set of robes in your inventory, switching, buff, switch back to heavy :)
Ya I've heard of doing that I just don't like to switch back and forth really and even if your mp is low and you switch you still have to sit and wait to regenerate that lost mp and to regain the extra mp you just got even if the robes help it regenerate faster!
don't use 107s they are ineffective

Prophets aren't healers, just try to buff your party and you should be happy that you can buff them complete with your heavy armor on.
Of course they aren't healers if they waned to be healers they would of gone the Bishop route BUT the problem is that most people still consider them a healer because for such a long perid of time (20-40) in raids and groups they were considered a healer and most people have it in there head that they are still a healer from 40+ on so in groups they are still expected to healer :( and as long as people think that I doubt it will be any different! So it will make it very hard for any prophets to be able to just buff and kill instead it's buff, heal, sit, try to fight, heal, buff! and thats what it was like for my prophet!
From 20 to 40 a future Prophet IS a healer. They are a Cleric then.
Exactly thats what I was saying they are a healer from 20-40 BUT people still consider them a heal after 40 and expect them to still heal after 40 Whic if you've picked the prophet route expect to buff & heal for your group/raid/clan cuz thats what they will expect from you even if you are no longer on the healing path :(
If a raid group above 50 or so expects a PP to heal and party buff they are stupid anyway.
LOL sometimes I think that to but it's not exactly been a raid group I went down to branded with two clannies and then more clannies came and two of them were shouting at me to heal them (****** me off) cuz even thou I healed them I thought what a waste heh I've got prophet they know I buff and then tehy expect me to stop what I'm doing to heal them (where were the hp pots no idea?) and I felt that from then on any time I level with them or anyone else I know it's always going to happen! I just felt it sucks being a prophet sometimes! Since then I haven't played my Prophet cuz I already know her sad sad future! *Oh Well* :)
Healing trumps all. If you have a character who can heal and you expect to get away with not even backup healing, just because you've gotten a class change, you're insane.

Seriously, if all we wanted was buffs, rolling up a prophet on a 2nd account and leaving it out of the group while we xp'd would be a far more xp friendly way for us to level. If you want to buff, not heal, and contribute offensivley to your group, roll a Warcryer.
It's not even backup heal LOL it's no other healer when I group most of the time they expect me to be the MAIN healer thats the problem LOL and thats what ****** of sometimes I'm not a main healer my healing skills have no improved since level 35 where the bishop is meant to do the healing so I have no problem healing every once and awhile when they are close to dying but I don't want to be considered a main healer anymore! :(
Yeah.. I'm a nuker and even I have to heal sometimes.. Not much we can do about it.. ;)
OH SHUSH UP YOU LOL
Your one of the clannies I usually have to hear cuz your spells pull argo sometimes and your not meant to take that much damage! heh jk I still love ya ;) *YOUR DEAD TONGIHT* ;)
Nah... Mass sleep FTW.. :p
LOL well in C5 sleep is going to be nerf so then what ya going to do? HEHE ;) jk I use sleep as well :( I'll still smoke ya and you know it....*evil laugh*
Yeah.. But I still have about 6-8 months of happiness! :) And I hate the fact that Ill actually have to kill the mobs who aggro on me.. Awwwww.. Ill go back to killing kaboo orcs now..
LOL no exactly my healer will help ya ou eventually or my future SH or my Archer LOL (not really the archer i don't think) she might grab argo!
Man you guys have some stupid groups if a NUKER has to heal. That or super low level. Even then a nuker would be better off doing crowd control than healing someone with their terrible, terrible heals.
Well.. Not really.. Depends on the size of the party.. I heal myself all the time.. :p
i would purchase all of your skills minus that REALLY useless one (Requim or something like that) through your cleric stage.

Also, before prophet i wouldnt recommend soloing. It was easier for me since we had an active Cruma Tower when I was an infant, now....finding a group might be a bigger pain in the rump.

Furthermore, i wouldnt even consider battle prophet until your 50s. Battle prophets that solo will need haste, a maxed out death whisper + focus, and a maxed out guidance. Also, bless shield will be important, as when you hit battle prophet stage, shield + dagger will be your weapon set of choice.

But before then, young padawan, don your robes and find a group.

I have a soon to be lvl 60 Battle Prophet, so I will tell you what I can from my experience.

The only skill you need to lvl 40 are your buffs and healing.... dont bother with those curse thignys they are pointless. Concentrate on your normal heal and battle heal.... group heal I rarely had to use. The rest of the skills (antimagic / masteries) get tmem if you have extra SP available but not absolutly nessecary cause your not "supposed" to get hit. As a cleric you will be expected to buff AND heal. Get a good set of robes to give you lost of mp. I lvled in catacombs... generally if you go in and shout healer lfg you will be fine.

Okies... now for 40+. You have two choices:
1- Robes for lots of mana, buffing large groups and your not doing much more than either sitting on your *** to regen mana or "try" to hit mobs but you dont do much damage.

2- Batlle Prophet (what I went with)
You want heavy armor and the weapon most people go with are duals.

My settup: (B Grade atm)
Blue Wolf Heavy set, +4 Tsu*SLS Duals, tatoos to boost stregth. Get those duals cause your damage is going to be based on the amout of criticals you do... so you want more. I can easily solo almost all mobs my lvl, even if x2, x3 hp as long as they dont stun.

I have a devotion robe set (increases casting speed when buffing cause its looooog with heavy) I made two macros to easily switch between both sets.

Now for the mana problem.... if you go battle prophet you are going to run out of mana.... A solution: KEEP BLESS THE SOUL ON YOU AT ALL TIMES. This gives you more mana but you have to make sure it never runs out. I have enough mana to buff all essential buffs to buff a nomral size party of varying classes. Not enough to buff a full party of 9.... but if your in a party of 9 there should be a WC or a SE/EE around to buff too.... should being the key word

A Prophet should NEVER be expected to heal..... You can use batlle heal if you see someone is about to die... I could save their life but you shouldnt have too. Im pretty sure a nice healing pot is going to heal as good as a prophet

But yeah, once you hit your prophet class you should concentrate #1 on your buffs.... anything else is a waste cause you WILL to run out of SP. Get your heavy masteries and weapon mastery if your going battle prophet.
THank you for clearing up the "Shouldn't have to heal" part LOL I just wish more people thought that way hehe :)
I play with a bunch of close freinds most of the time.. they know better ^_^.
Again to anyone reading this: Prophets are NOT healers.... if you want a healer get a Bishop.... maby more people would want my bishop if they stop relying on Prophets.. hehe

As for nukers healing... my two friends had a Destroyer and a SH and lvled up together.... The SH healed the Destroyer to get his hp up... the SH's mana regened as fast as he healed. But it was NEVER used to save the destroyers life.... lol
ya the SH isn't set up as a healer either but they have the heals b/c as a nuker and soling they will sometimes need to heal themselves if they take on physical damage or take on to many mobs! Uusally thats he only time I use my heals on my Dark Wizard, mist of the time I carry pots BUT I've had so many problems with my Prophet with people yelling at me expecting me to group and be the healer and then they die cuz I couldn't keep hem all a live I've basically given up on my Prophet b/c of it which kinda sucks heh BUT I guess till people learn that a Prophet is not a healer I figure it's going to stay like this for a while! heh
It all depends on the group really, I'm not saying pp's can't ever heal. But as with all healers or hybrids if you have a dumb group you'll have to practically scream that the mobs are too hard, you need another healer, or you flat out don't have enough mp. Some people will still ignore you but if you are playing healer just let them drop, or get close to it. It works :P
LOL interesting advice I would have to try that out and see if it works :)
Alright cool, ty you for all of your guy's help. One more question, should i buy the wind, ice, or any other attacks until i reach the cleric class?
Wind for sure, Ice maybe. Until lvl 20 you're most effective as a nuker.
Taking Ice is a waste of SP.... lol, I still havent taken that skill yet just to get it out of my skill options. You dont need it.
I maxed out wind and I used that to solo like a nuker would to about lvl 24 outside dion.

So yeah, if you have decent equip, once you hit the mainland head to Dion and kill the non social bear right outside town. You can 2 shot em with sps using that wind nuke even if you dont have the best weapon.... but AVOID hunting outside Gludin.... by all costs DO NOT lvl there unless you want to get killed by some dumb kid
Oh btw
SinatraDean ... what server on you on ?
I'm on Teon Server
I liked using ice when the mob only had a little hp left, but I puposely didn't level it up all the way. It was a cheap nuke that also usually slowed enemies. You won't understand until you are a higher level that the SP below 40 is so tiny it's laughable to not learn almost everything.
lol I guess I should get around to maxing it out.... Its still sitting there at lvl 1 for me.
But yeah, that skill requires so little SP it cant hurt in the long run... but learn to conserve you SP if your going as a prophet, youll need alot
To sum this all up..

Dont party in heavy - you're a buffer.

Battle Prophets are for solo'ing and duo/trios with people that can take care of themself as far as HP goes.

Dont be concerned about healing other's while in heavy.

Look at tattos to overcome some of the inherient deficentcies of the class. (+ wit to cast faster in heavy, + str, possibly + dex depending on how you want to balance your melee ability.

Weapon choice is a matter of personal taste. Duals are the mainstream choice. You'll find some weapons provide better DPS depending on SA's and your ability to land hits consistently.

I'm coming up on the 7x mark with this basic mentality and have found them to serve me well. As far as SP, buy everything you can, focusing on offensive passives then defensive passives, buffs, etc. Word of Fear, Peace, etc.. don't do much unless you are high level fighting a summon; don't bother with those until later. Dont bother getting Light Armor masteries. Everything else is fair game.

GL!
