dont let the tittle fool you. ALL U PERVS GET OUTA MY THREAD.
i just want to know of the people who open chests regularly if youve noticed what ive noticed?
when you spoil a chest, if the spoil succeeds the bad chests begin attacking. but the ones that are good stay still while the dummy chests dissappear as usual.
i have almost 100% conclusive evidence of this. every spoil i do on a chest (if i ONLY spoil and run) yielded this result. i was boxed with an assassin for the unlock skill.
Don't give NCSoft any ideas! Next thing you know they will nerf this too! And they'll probably nerf the drops from real chests even farther then, when what they really should be doing is BOOSTING them.
To the OP...When you say the "Fake" Chests disappear ummmm those are the "Real" Chests (Watch your health they explode not just dissapear). The real chests are to be opened with keys and the chests that attack you back are mimmics and are to attack the people trying to open them.
I hope that makes sense....and as an FYI on average if you can unlock real chests more then mimmics you will earn more money.
I think what he's saying is that there are 3 different kinds of chests and 3 different things that happen when you spoil them.
1. Chest is a mimic, if you spoil it, it attacks.
2. Chest contains nothing, if you spoil it, it disappears
3. Chest contains $/items, if you spoil it, nothing happens
Using this information and a class that can use unlock, you can profit by only using keys/unlock on the ones that do nothing when you spoil it.
Profit, and another good use for BH (I remember a recent thread complaining about them).
Let's just hope it doesn't get nurfed.

As far as I know there are only really 2 types of chests....Real (RC) and Mimics.
If you launch any kind of attack on a RC it will explode and produce an AOE type fireball.
Spoil is tagged as an offensive and aggression adding Skill thus also qualifies as an attack. Making it reveal itself as a mimic(Attacks back) or a RC(Blows Up).
I don't know about seeding....been a while since I have done it be if I recall correctly it is in fact a non agression building skill thus you might be able to use it and no reaction would result from the Chest be it RC or Mimic. Thus not being conclusive.
As for the item inside condition...I have very strong feelings that the contents of a box will affect it's reaction to a skill. But this part would bring up that age old question "When is the drop of a mob determined?"...At spawn or at death?...might be a bit trivial but it does make a difference.

you make some valid points that i must again test out.
i was successful tho, in opening several chests using this method of spoiling.
There is not suppose to be a way to tell the difference in chests. It is suppose to be completely random. If you can tell the difference it is a bug, an abuse of this bug would be an exploit.
