So exactly what is the hero chat? Are they just regular players who happen to be a higher lvl than most of us? are they gm's what the heck is it? I really want to know why some of them think that they can tell the other players what to do? Is it their game? No....SO whats the deal cause Im getting pretty fed up with some of them (particularly the gustin server)?Do we have to take their crap, i mean, do they have the right to be total jerks and tell us what we can and cant ask?I mean, if were new, dont we have the right to ask questions?
Not until you've bothered reading the manual (http://www.lineage2.com/Knowledge/hero.html). The heroes are high level players who've "fought" in a mostly fixed competition (at least that's what it's like on our server). There's no reason you should bother them over a random passer-bye with your questions.
well, i didnt bother them, actually i wasnt even talking to them......I was asking in town, therefore they shouldnt have even commented....if being helpful and playing the game bothers them so much then maybe they shouldnt be considered "heros"
And, just for the record, I dont really give a care what they did to get there....they were new at one point in time too, they are just another character, like everyone else also...I pay the same amount of money per month that they do, therefore I am just as valuable to NCsoft as they are...therefore, they should not speak to people in such a condescending manner.
Shall we talk about the hero's who pk people in d grade? :D. Some heros... Anyhow they all suck since they prolly powerleved there and once they did get there, the matches were 99% fixed. So screw all heros. You all suck :D. And those hero weapons are way too overpowered and too shiny. Just my opinion. Not hating on anyone. If you did it fair and square, your the man/woman! Otherwise you know what you can go do.
If any player abuses the Hero channel, please let the GM team know. Also, as a tip, you can turn off the Hero Voice in the chat options (the little hammer in the bottom left of the screen).
You're being vague, so it's difficult to tell what happened exactly - either way, they can say whatever they like, even condesceding things, provided it doesn't address your real life. That's how this game is: Not very friendly.
M4rius, I know at least two heroes who ground very hard to get where they were - one my former clan leader, so I can definitely confirm where and how he got his levels. Don't call people cheaters just because they got further them you - call them cheaters because they got further than you and obviously lack the dedication and competence to get there. ;)

ok let me clear it up for you......I was asking a question to the people in town...the "hero" told me to stop asking questions and just watch the hero chat...well first of all...NO, if I have a question I am going to ask it, Secondly, I wasnt asking the freaking "hero"...when they start making the rules then I will obey them. However, I have found that other players are quite friendly and actually encourage the new players to ask questions, no matter how "stupid" or bothersome it may be....Dont get me wrong, not all heros are jerks, but there are a select few who abuse their situation.
He was probably/maybe annoyed at you shouting (!yada yada) the conversation. Asking the question through !... is just fine by my standards, but continuing the conversation and "forcing" everyone to watch more then necessary can be disturbing.
But then again, he/she could just have been an *** too... (:

To the 1% heros your talking about I have nothing but respect for. For the other 99% I stand by my opinion :p
oh but i hadnt had a conversation yet...I asked the question once in dion then once again in gludio...only 2 times....then they smarted off..there was no conversation to it...I understand it can get annoying, but i only asked the question twice. How about the people who shout the WTB blah blah twenty times in a row...i mean its kind of the same situation, except mine actually involved answering a question...I know it is beneficial for people to shout things they are buying and selling but, isnt it ok for people to ask questions too? If the people in town would have told me to shut up,then i would have known that I was being annoying, but they didnt...after the "hero" jumped down my throat a few people actually pmed me...so..I dont know lol maybe Im just too sensitive, I just thought it was nonsense, it wasnt like i micro'd my question...they could just be having a bad day...lol
And no, there's not really a reason to mouth off to you - but was he even addressing you directly? Sounds like a peculiar situation. I know I wouldn't waste my time on such a thing even if I was in a really bad mood.
well perhaps you have a point, maybe the person wasnt directly talking to me...but I asked if anyone knew where the BS was and the second time i asked the "hero" person said "stop asking where the BS is, watch the hero chat and find out for yourself....I hadnt even been logged on that long, probably 15 minutes..but other people had asked too i presume by the pm's that i got, but they were under the impression that "he" had smarted off to me, and they had been trying to find the bs for a while...so..i dont know..is that a question that people ask a lot? i really dont see how that is an upsetting question though...i guess if they see people asking it a lot it would get kind of annoying, but, they dont need to be rude, other players have to put up with people typing the same thing over and over...lol oh well..i did have one guy tell me that this particular hero was "an ***" lol, guess i just never really noticed..i didnt even know that the blue typing was "hero chat" til a few days ago, and they never really said anything lol( yes Im a noob, but im trying to learn) anyways, thanks everyone...
Yea i turned the hero chat off within the first 5 minutes. The problem with the hero system is that 90% of them got to where they are under some really " questionable means"

I believe i saw that chat you're referring to. I didn't view it as yelling at you or coming across as harsh nor did i see him say any char names in the hero chat so he didn't direct anything personally through there (not sure if he PM'd you). That particular person has been broadcasting BS locations for a while...
Well, when people act like that I immediately put them in the body of a rude 13 year old kid OR some guy sitting in his mother's basement thinking that he (she) is "all that" because their online "game" toon is high lvl.
I turn off my various chats as I need to.
Also, think of that Hero as a Hero of Evil if you like.
Oh, by the way... after I put their appropriate faces to their chat I also like to picture them in a Bell Tower shouting "I am the Angel of Death, the time of reckoning is at hand".
