Spellbook: Shadow Flare <<< who drops it???

Hi guys!
I have been trying to find this book by killing Nightmare Guide for 3 days already. It doesn't work :-(
Besides, there are very unfriendly persons arround Giran are always trying to set you up by bringing a crowd of mobs to where you hunt. I almost got killed once. I don't know what I would do if I had dropped my new Karmian Set item!

Anyways, the question is, am I hunting the right mob for this book? I also was told that Zaken's Pikeman drops it. Is it true???

I got it dropped off the skeleton pikemen that are at the entrance to devil island in c3. Cant remember the name as it was quite awhile ago now. The skeletons there are social so you might want to take help. If i remember correctly it didnt take long to drop about 30 minutes at most.

nightmare keeper betwen giran and tanor canyon, mobs in grup of 4, 1/2 hp, get some1 with mass sleep or make aoe party, good exp too

We have killed over a hundred of Nightmare Guides already! Not a SINGLE spellbook dropped :-(
Tomorrow I will go and try to hunt Zeken's Pikeman (skeleton). I hope I will be lucky.

remember when i was trying to get SB:Silence from the golems in IT-pit ... i killed so many golems there that i leveled 2 lvls and still didnt get that book .. instead i got 2*Square Shields as full dropp during that time...after that i sold one shield and bought the **** book

Hello , shadow flare and solar flare are dropped by nightmare guides , it took me few days to get solar flare , for me shadow flare dropped more than solar flare (1 solar flare , 3 shadow flare (all sold ) , nightmare guide is the monster to hunt to get the spellbook you are looking for .

There's always Wishing potion quest :)) It is tiresome but if it is what you want, good luck to you.

I can confirm that all 3 books (Shadow Flare, Solar Flare, Aura Bolt) do drop from Nightmare Guides.
For me Aura Bolt was the rarest. 2 books in, let's see, ~ 2.5 levels, and add to that numerous (or countless) deaths to trains of bigboomers there. (quite bot-like bigboomers if you ask me)

To tell the truth, some times even unlucky respawn was enough for my death. Agro mobs delay of being passive after respawn is quite little.
It was very teaching experience though :) . Less fear of group mobs now as you have to deal with them.

If you're interested, there were around 6 solar flares and 6 shadow flares dropped in my time there. Sometimes a day of farming was fruitless.
And, no, all those books are sold out ^_^

I think I was too high for them when the book was first introduced... hunted those pikemen for 2 days and eventually just paid too much for it just so I could get on with my life.

Yah seriously.... just be glad people don't charge 500k for it anymore.

I hunted them unsuccessfully, then finally got a group hard enough to take them on without trouble, and the bleedin' thing dropped the first mob we killed.

Nightmare Guides drops them... they drop 3 diff books, solare flare, aura bolt and shadow flare I think... after 2 days of hunting, solo, I got 520% xp (YES 5 lvls and 20%) and all I got was 2 shadow flare and 1 solare flare. so they are rare, and at least on bartz the books go for 1m on market.
