tanker and nuker?

im new to the game... i see people around saying "nukers" and "tankers"... whats the meaning of these ? tnx

Nuker - Wizard
Tanker - Knight

Tank is a class that generally tries to keep the monsters attacking him during PvE. They wear heavy armor and shields.
Examples: Paladin, Dark Avenger, Temple Knight and Shilien Knight.

Nukers are magic classes that shoot bigbad balls o' fire and similar stuff from afar at opponents. They've also got a few utility spells such as sleep and slow. Nukers wear robes and usually wield a magic sword/shield or a staff. They're overpowered this chronicle and it doesn't seem to be about to change, sadly.
Example: Sorcerer, Spellhowler, Spellsinger.

Yes, MMORPG slang... If your office mate throws a paper ball at you and says "pwnd" then you know he plays too.

i consider nuker to be the generic term for a range DD, that includes archers and mages
any close range DD is just a DD
a tank could be a dwarf or a tyrant or even a bd in the right circumstances however at a raid group a tank could only be someone with hate and tank like skills
