We pay to play in order to have fun, this is my 1st free month but i already got killed over 5 times (in a week), maybe to some people think it is nothing (pking is normal) but I dont want to spend to waste my time lvling and then lost those exp by just some pkers in 5 seconds
I have played other MMORPG that has Pking but here is jsut too serious..
low lvl areas are empty, hard to get a party, and solo kills slow and slow exp..spend time getting % and lost it coz of stupid pkers..

Not to minimize your anger. It's quite valid. But pk'ing becomes less at higher levels. Unless your clan is in a war.
But this is an open pvp game with all the good and bad.
I really wish people would read the reviews of games and do a little research.
I came into this game expecting to try it out for a week tops. I remember leaving dark elf village and eyeing the players to my left and my right thinking I'd get attacked at any moment.
I was expecting roving gangs of reds all the time.
And it wasn't quite like that.
The first time I got pk'ed I was actually able to return the favor to my attacker.
Point is you really should look into the games you play before you buy them because it will give you a pretty good idea about what to expect. Then try the game with an open mind but be acceptign of the fact that the game may not be for you.

On what server are you playing? On Teon, there are still a fair amount of new players in starting areas (beside the bots, i mean true players, real newbies with real newbies question :D ). If this happened on teon, just let me know, i regularly check the starting zones myself to take care of such people. Saw nothing unusual last tour, but i can't see everything. :mad:

I "know" that pking exists in every (almost every) MMORPGs, i have played LineageI and others famous ones but i have never been pk'ed so frequently before.
Whats the point of playing if you cant level constantly? How I can be high level if I always got pk'ed?
I know "this" is the game, pking becoz of clan wars, i accept. But pk'ing becoz some high level players are bored and impose those actions to new people, this is fun to him, but not the person being killed. In real world, those people will be judged, but in game world, who judge those pkers?
Maybe I should blame that I just started this game late. I have checked all the server personality in this forum before i started, Hindemith is one of the few that dont say 'massive pking" thing, and still, 5 times pk'ed in a week of one of my character which is lvl 30 atm.. and got pk'ed once in elven village while i was only lvl 3.. cant imagine hows it going in bratz .. i cant play for long everyday, and so everytime i play i dun get lots of exp.

You are probably in the wrong area if you're getting PKed that much - are you perchance returning to the same hunting spot where you already got PKed once? Have you tried going to a different server, since you only just started?
As I said, upon my return to the game last year, I didn't have problems with ANY newbie PKers - it's gotten dangerous to pick on newbies, as they often log onto their nearby high level main upon dying and return the favour.
Unfortunately there are quite a few idiots who have newbie PK alts and they enjoy PKing new players non stop. This doesn't really help the game but then plenty of players do things that don't help the game.
You just have to persevere, find other huntspots and make friends.
Listen its happened to all especially me but dont let that make you quit if you really like the game. A few pointers is go off to secluded spots where they are not there. Sure places like abandoned camp etc have good xp but your gonna hve to go out in the fields where it more quiet or do this if you get killed. Just go elsewhere far away from where the pker is chances are they wont find you agian. Just have to avoid it and play it smart.
Avoid:
Catas and necros
Execution grounds
Abandoned camp
Ruins of agony/despair ... although this is not so favourite PK place now
Hardin's private academy and surroundings
If you are 30, try go to Orc Barracks, Field of Silence, Forgotten temple (all went to catas/necros), windy hill, South beaches of Floran ... I usually level there all alone.
I know, being PKed make you feel so down, desperate, ... no worries, PKing will be less at higher levels. Died 5 times... that's 40% lost xp at max... take it more positive way, you will have more skillpoints, more wealth, and loss of one death at low levls is not so much, you can cover it pretty quickly. Imagine 20+ deaths during the siege at 60+, that's more OUCH! Get into some raidboss party, there are pleanty of people shouting "RB party LF members ..." in Dion and you have your XP back twice. Heads up young man!
hehe you shouldve seen the suprise on that pkers face when my 51 sps in NG gear turned around and 1 shotted him after he tried unsuccesfully to kill me. he steared clear of me after that :D

i NEVER go back to the area i got pk'ed, i got pk'ed at wind mill, abondened camp and on the way between giran and Pilgrams..
i do like Lineage2, i have played its beta but just recently i come back as i search for a MMORPG again to play (I have also tried wow, FF11 just dont attach too much, and i was a high lvl player in Lineage1, RO and PSO) just lineage 2 captures my heart by its user friendly interface, tutorial and nice quests.. and based on same familiarity of Lineage 1..
I joined clan, but what can help about that, once i got pk'ed they could come to help, but they cant be always available and usually pkers flee far away in a short time. I cant ask someone to be my body guard always :(
Your right, i dont play Lineage 2 i can always play something else. Each one has his point of view.
Dying during clans war/seige IS NOT the same thing as being Pk'ed without any reason (coz the pker is bored and amuse himself by this) thats my point of view, but you guys are right, i cant bear this, so lineage 2 is not for me.
btw this is my first character and i dun have uber equipments, i cant kill mobs in a few hits, and i cant buy and consume SS like crazy to speed up the kill, so exp for me is slow, downtime is often and slow (i dun even sit to regen now, but it doesnt stop being pk'ed), imagine i kill each berak orc to get like 0.2-3% ea.. how many i need to kill to get back that 10%
0.2-0.3? Lucky you, I get 0.02 per mob :) 0.03 when lucky and someone gives overhit
Slower levelling is not a bad thing, specially when you consider fact that Adena grind >>> XP grind (playing legit that is of course).
I can assure you your alt will have it much easier, gear and knowledge wise, and you will do anything to "seed just 4.5k more blue codas, I need to delevel, **** again ..." :D

And i don't know about you, but i cann't kill anything in one hit and when i need to regen i always sit. I think your whole outlook on the game needs some readjusting.
oh of coz i dun expect i can kill a mob in one hit.. i mean, after i kill the mob, my hp is already gone 1/3.. i need to rest every 2 mobs?
even when my hp is full, i can be pk'ed in a few hit, imagine when i am in the middle of lvling, hp is lower ...
right now seems u are talking about getting xp.. what i am angry is how I lost those exp.. and how fast i could gain back them..
Arent u angry when u kill one mob for 0.02% , take ages to gain certain % and then u lost 10% suddenly becoz of silly pking? (not clan war, not seige, simply someone pops up and kills u without any reason?)
you are doing something wrong if you are being pk'd that often. PKing can be easily avoided. You just have to pay attention to the people around you. You see a red, you go the other direction. There is no excuse for you to compalin about being PK'd on the mainland. Maybe in the starter villages but not the mainland. PKing for the PKers on the mainland is very dangerous. There are loads of high levels everwhere that would love a chance to take down a red.
if your between level 17-25 you should be killing the floating eyes right outside Dion. They give you a LOT of xp per kill and adena drops. The best bang for your buck and you also get protection from nearby Dion and all the player over there. If you see a red there, you just have to shout and they are pretty much dead.
i did, lastly i got killed mid way between giran and pilgrams, there was no one around (i was going to dion and i thought i could just take a little time to run instead of teleporting) and suddenly i got hit, its elvenp4th, he killed me before, what i could do? i shouted, i couldnt log out, not strong enough to use soe..
And i immediately told my clan, my leader wanted to hunt him down at the first time this pker killed me in abondened camp, but when my leader arrived, he was gone already.. and this time, same. I shouted, so the people in giran could hear, and just after a min another player shouted about this pker, and so?
Even this pker got hunt down, it wont stop. He just loves to pk, anywhere.

first levels are the fastest in the game...and you thought they were slow. Just wait until it takes 1 hour to get a few percent (2-3%)...then you truely know grind ><
Yes, getting 0.02 per mob and being killed by some 76+ top A scum "I kill you because you are carebear ally" hurts. A lot.
BTW after 40 XP loss is 4%, not 10%.
Actually you'd need to be level 60+ if your hunting mobs that only give you .02% per mob. Unless your doing something seriously wrong. I dont think that example would apply to n00bs that are only a little past 20. After all you could technically get 1-40 pretty fast in say 1 week or 2 if your casual.
Well, no need to smoke anything. Just try, even once, to actually read quest text before clicking. Some are interesting, some are moving, many are funny (smelly sock anyone?)... For the interface, yes, it is handy, no fancy yet useless features, just the essential easily accessible. I like it. And the new tutorial is really fine, it would really have been nice to have it when the game launched.
I dissagree. Quests sucks. Rewards are crap. Running all over the map for many quests..guess what, that sucks too.
Some quests have interesting story, some, very few. Who cares about text when in the world driven by Adena, you need as much of it as you can get and when you get 30 adena per quest mob kill that takes you a few 100's adena in ss to kill.

I don't usually do this, on this website, matter of a fact, this is the 1st time I'm saying this here, but Shuddup. You have no idea. Don't make predictions for the things you don't know and can't comprehend.
My opinion is that most quests suck because I've done a lot of them. I really don't care what you say about it and I don't need you to try and change my mind.

Since you don't provide a rough estimate of your highest or main toon's level, I can only guess.
However, unless you are Splatter who after playing for 2 years and still is under lvl 30, pls share your experience with the community about such wonderfully done quests as: Hunter's Licence, Gator(trasure map) Isle, Giants Cave, ToI, .....Hell, any other quest above lvl 40.

I never said "Don't Do the quests". I do them, cause that's how you get your A/g mats and recipes. So I always do the quests.
I never said L2 Sucks. Otherwise I wouldn't be here still.
I'm just saying that the quests here were done with as little effort as possible.
For instance, take the dreaded Giants Cave and ToI quests. At higher level, for the amount of time/XP you need to level up, surelly you should be able to get the quest items.
As is, you can litteraly hunt in those places for hours or days. You then get a few quest items that turn into sheer crap as in the Giants Love letter. Woot =)
Some quests do have nice text(eg: the A/g jewelry/sheild quest), yes. The thing is, quests in any other MMO seem to have a gotten a whole lot of Designer Love than the quests in L2. They get the job done(either by you, or by the pro players) but most quests are poorly designed, and the Time/Resources to Reward ratio are severly lacking in most of the quests about lvl 40.
reward sux, this i agree.. for low lvls, its like spending time for 100 of each objet and finally i got..like 1k adena? XD (wth) and the time when i did the quest of abondoned camp and those lizardman thing..took ages but reward were not 'good'
Rewards don't sux. Most of these quests are added rewards to your hunting loots. You lose nothing doing them as you complete them as you hunt, and the reward just come on top of the loots you got while hunting.
I farmed most of the quests you were citing, and actually enjoyed some of them. Not all, but well, who expect to like every single aspects of the game?
And before you continue on your line of "Who have experienced the most content of this game"
And i stand my point, these quests are way better than those i saw in most other mmorpg i have played, including wow quests, city of heroes quests, DDO quests, and eve online missions. They may not be the best, mut they are certainly far from the worst. I'm even happy of the noblesse and third change of occupation quests.
And to return to the original subject, no Douce, getting PKed repeatedly is definitely not a normal experience of L2. Many people never get pked, and it seem you were just unlucky.
I think people are forgetting that L2 is OLD and its age is showing. Everything L2 did wrong other companies took note of while developing their own games and therefore more recent MMORPGs learned from L2's mistakes. However NC Soft does not want to change what L2 is so they must keep these terrible quests in place so old players don't pout and whine about how unfair L2 life is. I would be EXTREMELY surprised, and shocked even, if L3 had the same types of quests where you must eradicate the elphy species. I think as MMORPGs develop and evolve so will quests. MMORPGs of large magnitudes like L2 aren't exactly easy games to make nor are they something that has been around a long time where you will have veteran designers/programmers. Only recently are we seeing veteran MMORPG makers make new, fresh games.

look, seriously, I think you were unlucky. I played and started when waay back right after retail when Pking in n00b towns were the crest of the problems. I've also made several alts back in these n00b towns and had my fair share of encounters with PKers. Generally, you can avoid them easily by just paying attention to your surroundings. Like I said before, if you spot a red character, just run the other way. In most cases you can outrun them. You can ALWAYS outrun them if you have ww2 buff, especially if you have a good head start.
Also, your a low level. Losing xp at your level is nothing. Honestly, it is nothing. You can get it back within a few minutes of playing. pfft. If you were a high level and being PK'd thats a different story, BUT, you wouldn't be PKed if you were high level. There is no such thing, unless you ticked off some high level clan badly.
My suggestion is to keep at it if you like the game. If not than move on. Theres no use whining about being pk'd while your low level. especially on the mainland. I mean when was the last time anyone had this happen to them? On the mainland from Dion road to Giran? er sounds unbelievable, like a crock of ****. This doesnt happen.
