Moral Dillema..Require input

I've been in the same clan for about a year or so now.

When I 1st met the soon to be leader(I think I actually said that he should create the clan), I was but a noob on my DE mystic trying and viliantly dying in SODA trying to solo the lvl 21 DE quest.

He helped me, equipped me (Mith robes, Jewelry and 107's). Back then, for me, that was an inimaginable amount of adena(well, I think i had about 200k for constantly running the Spore and Zombie quests).

Anyway, out of the original people when that clan was made, only him and I remain. Everyone or many are new(not low lvl). Many are in A/g, etc. Problem is, I love PvPing, but because a good amount of people in the clan refuse to PvP, I am constantly held back as to who I can and can not attack.

I've been offered a position in a few other very PvP active clans.

My question is, after being in the same clan with the same leader, and who has done so much to help me in the beguining, how can I simply leave him and join someone else?
I'd say yes.

As long as you make your point clear and everyone agrees that the clan's stance towards PVP will not change enough to please you.

Helping eachother out in this game requires a lot trust and can lay the fundament for friendship and loyalty to last many months or even years. However one should not confuse being grateful with self-enslavement. :p Pay your dues and go in a friendly mind, but go wherever you are pleased.

My 2 Cent,
Cal

PS: Please fix the Euro char (€) Ty. ^^
My answer would be yes as well. I can see in your signature that you've been with the clan for quite some time, and I'm sure you've given plenty back in the time you've been there.
Helping people out, does not mean that they should be forever in debt. If your current clan does not fit your playstyle, leave. That doesn't mean you can't maintain a good relationship to your current leader and clan members. Make sure they know exactly why you're leaving.
I'd say yes. I'd let the leader know your position, and if that equipment and help at 21 meant a lot to you (which I'm sure it did) be sure to mention that.
I say yes also....I was in the same Situation. Some of your Clan mate will understand and some will not.
Fot the ones that don't understand don't worry about them they they weren't true clan mates

Good luck
Ultimately you have to play the game for yourself. If you are not enjoying yourself then you are not getting what you paid for.

As the others said, explain yourself to the clan leader. You might be surprised to find that it might be a load off his/her mind as he/she might be a bit frazzled by the fact that you want to pvp more but the timbre of the clan is less pvp. This might cause him/her a bit of stress. seriously.

I'm sure he will understand. You should offer some sort of gesture to help the clan. Some good equipment or money. Good Luck
must have fun in game, because you might turn, overtime, in a playerkiller that kills noobs. yes, talk to your friend and stay friends with him, but do what you feel that must be done.
ps. if it doesnt work out with yer friend, you know where you stand: PK PK PK PK pk ...

I was in the same position as you... and let me tell you that you shouldn't take things so seriously, unless you are real friends outside of the game.
I was in such a situation with a real life friend in RO who wanted to leave our party (parties are permanent there), and it was no problem whatsoever. It's a game, and I believe your clan leader will be honoured that you're even thinking about it this deeply.

If you're not having fun just out of loyalty, is he the type who'll really be happy with this? It's not like leaving his clan will cut your ties with him.
Talk with the guy and leave on good terms, repay his kindness by keeping in touch with him and keep ties with the old clan, even if your positions differ you can still benefit eachother.
Greetings,

I've been offered a position

O RLY ?

That's the sign of a great soul indeed. Those are usually in high demand. As such, I will help you with these words of wisdom...

Clans are like girlfriends. If you're not happy with yours and you're getting propositions by others, maybe it's time you changed ?

Now don't take me for a con artist seductor, I usually stay in excellent terms with my ex(clans and girlfriends).

Some ex-leaders (*cough* OreMonger) can't seem to help themselves to give me stuff whenever I bump back into them. I can also say the same from a few girlfriends who want to jump back in bed, you know, just this once, for old times sake ? (*cough* Isa).

Contrary to RL, this is a game, so basically the fun factor is much more important than the responsibilities associated with the relationship.

Happy B-Day DM and ty guys, I think I'm feeling a bit more confident about the situation at hand now. =)
Thats a tough situation. I'm tossing around the idea of leaving my SHs clan. I really like it, and the ally, but recently however, it's just not doing anything for me. I'm not sure whats changed but I'm suddenly not liking getting on that char. I am sort of a clan-[censored], I've been ALL OVER the place since my time in prelude. And this is, or was; my favorite so far, but I've been getting prettty upset rather frueqnetly the last few days.

But I'll be a total hypocrit and say you should probably move on if it's not doing anything for you, even though I'm still pointlessly loyal to my clan and not yet willing to leave even though I probably should, sounds like for you it's for the best. Always watch out for numero uno first.
Talk it over with your current clan leader, hide nothing from him.
be honest and respectful with your clan leader, give them a heads up ahead of time, and leave to join another clan.

nothing wrong with that at all.
Somewhat like you I was recruited "young" by a clan and one of them helped me out with loaned gear too (though I sure didn't expect that).
They were great folks I guess--but from lvl 20-42 I think I only played along side any of them or interacted a couple dozen times. They just didn't PLAY anymore by the time I came along.
When the person that recruited me contacted me to say she was leaving--I returned all the stuff in my warehouse to her (I hadn't seen her or spoken with her in 2 months) and thanked her for the support.
I suppose it was different from your experience where you had a relationship with the leader that was long-standing.
I can understand though--even returning all the stuff I still felt bad to be leaving the group I had identified with.
Knowing what I know now from that experience--if I had it to do over again I would have left sooner and tried to make it on good terms.
Clans/guilds matter to the playing experience. If they aren't providing that then I would argue every player has the right to leave and pursue a situation of better fit.
Greetings,

Happy birthday, if its your real one :)

YES ! SWEET !

In Cake Cult terms, these are 3 genuine hits, in a row, so it's +3 levels, and extra points for virtuosity.

I have been glad to help you with your moral question. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go eat all that cake that I got...
