I dont know about you but i am starting to see cheaters everywere, even when that might not be the case...
If i see someone in best D, C, B grade i directly think that he is an Ebayer..
when myself i have 3 chars in TopGear both in D, C and B; and have adena over
And if i see anyone that is slightly faster or better then me i think they must be using 3rd party software to be better,
even when i know i pretty much suck at Lineage.
I'm getting blind, i fell like the angry farmer that gets his pitchfork and torch and go on witch hunts everywere..

I think a lot of people have the same "problem"... although they might not recognize it as a problem. ;)
Cheats are being used... often and by many... however not even the GMs can detect them beyond doubt... and we can even less. However there are little hints which might identify someone as an eula-violator... which unfortunately are nowhere near accurate... nontheless most people use them as a base for judgement... including myself, although I try not to accuse anyone before I have more info about a specific case, the first (bad) impression sticks somehow.

People need to let things go. I see people who worry and fret over nothing. they get themselves worked up over things that they have no control over. I can't see that as a valid way to conduct one's life because then every thing is going to make you nuts.
Look, people are different. There are shades of gray. I used to want to see every thing as black and white but the reality is that one person's right is another person's wrong.
Does that mean that every politician is crooked? That everyone who has made a buck is a thief? That everyone who who chain dates models is a lothario?

No thats the hole point i know i dident cheat to get to were i am now.
but i allways think that ppl that have the best gear must have cheated.. from the exeption of the rerolls or alts..
but when ppl say there alts i dont even belive them then.
From a few exeptions ofcourse but generaly that is what pops in to my head...

In the case of genuine new players, stuff is simply given by the more experienced players who have been here for so long. I myself fall into tht category where people have helped me out. Perhaps a form of cheating, but I never ask for help, but accept it when offered.
So, no, not everyone is a cheater, or an e-bayer. Honestly, it's just smoke on the water. Don't worry about it, and enjoy the game your way! That's what a slowly aging player says, if I could be called that yet!
I have found so many players in otherwise supposedly legit or "holier-than-thou" clans on my server that cheats in one way or another that I just don't care much anymore. What matters to me is how you conduct yourself and act. At this stage I would rather have 10 cheating good people, than 1 legit [censored]. Not a good stance, but its how the game has developed, I can pretend it isn't so like so many others, but no.

every time i see someone close to my lvl in better gear i start wondering how legit they are
if i see someone gank someone when they are hideing i start wondering what hacks they used
i remeber the first day i jumped on pts every time i seen someone all i could think was "OMG its a bot" i mean i had never seen that many untagged poorly equipt toons in my life (apart from elmore)
cheating has become so widespread that we are at a point where we just assume everyone is a cheater and can be right the majority of the times :(
I never spent much time in town working the market. I felt like the OP myself. I am lvl 65 with B grade and (bad choices) the wrong A armor except for the helm (I dont have one). Everytime I saw someone at my lvl or even close to my lvl in full A grade and wep/w SA. I always thought dam they must have cheated no way they could get all that without cheating.
Well for the last week I haven't left Giran. I have been playing the market only. No grinding/pvp/siege nothing just buying and selling. I went from having NM robes with a +5 SOV/acu to having. DC robes and a SOM I have enough to get acumen on it right now. I will still have 50mil to use to buy and sell tell I can afford the Helm.
I have seen alot of people I only saw out pvping or grinding in town doing the same thing im doing now. I know there are still people who ebay and cheat. But I do know there are alot more legitimate players out there doing what they can to get to the next lvl.

It's not just that people are cheating. How many of us have been in a clan where a new recruit has asked for old gear within 3 hours of getting tagged? You can't charge them market price, because that'd be uncool. And "borrow" usually ends up as "own".
Meh, the game is mature now. The olden days of "earn it" are mostly over.

The FACT is that there are uber players in-game. Many I'll assume were legitimate and have grinded and succeeded for 2 years. Some of these 'gods' in game may have cheated there way up there----so what?
My reality is a new toon and the work to level him--alone. I have to meet people in game--and figure stuff out--and fail. Mistakes, learning, fun, comraderie, successes....that is L2 to me.
The folks around me are like me. True, when uber players push us around we get killed pretty easy! But outside of that annoyance we have a lot of fun.
Although we're not part of the "big 2" alliances on our server, we are now aligned with a legitimate alliance. For all I know half of those folks cheated there way to the top--or maybe not.
But the game that confronts me is rather basic. My lvl 42 DA must gain exp--learn new hunting grounds and mobs and techniques. I get to raid--play with guild--learn.
Do I sometimes look wistfully at "top gear" on others and wonder if they cheated? Sure. But it doesn't consume me for long......and since some HAVE cheated? I'm not going to beat myself up for the thought either!

Well, actually, each and every politician IS crooked... It comes with the job description. If they weren't crooked, they simply would not be politicians. And really, you cannot make big buks (I'm not talking about just making a living) without stepping on some bodies to get there. Those 2 go without saying really...

I rmeeber when I finally got my friend to play the game. He rolled and Elf fighter and was getting pked. So as I went to help "twink him out" and take care of this pker, He pms me, it seems the pker got to close to one of the faries and while runnign away from it ran staright into a guard. He got Bone armor and a swordbreaker.
I used to think the same but dont judge to fast ... After about 1 year in L2, beeing SE lvl 62/63 all I had was a full BW Robe set, D Grade Jewel Set, and a MP sa crystal staff. I changed Clans. Then I joined Clan Total Freedom (Disbanned now).
I was only in the clan for a few weeks then the CL said to me show me your gear. I gave him the staff and Jewels. Then he traded me back with +3 Carn bow MP SA and full BO jewel set. I was like Oo what is this? He said this is for you. A few weeks later CL changed his Maj. Armor for DC and he traded his old Maj. Robe set for my BW set. I mean, a full Maj robe unsealed Oo, I was stuned... **** ... All I had to do is turn in all the mats I find which isn't even close to 1% of the total value of the A Grade stuff he gave me.
So it can happen people get top gear over night.
Still I considder my self very lucky :cool:

Clan Total Freedom got disbanded due to R/L issues of the CL and he was not able anymore to perform his job as CL due to lack of time. I still play with the same people and a new CL in a new created clan, Clan Virus. Beeing daily on TS together having fun and stuff ensures me enough to tell you they all are legit players, most of them playing together sinse Beta.
Anyways this all is offtopic. Just wanted to tell that there are good clans out there that do help their people to get good gear.

ROFL, as one of the few who have "heard", it has been said my voice was the best example of a "musical" voice. The right intonations at the right times, without over doing it to make it look theatrical.
I've had my jaw on the ground many times when I found out who cheated on our server, and some of them were from "we're on teamspeak, close friends and trust eachother and never cheat" clans.
Yeah, my heart bleeds when I see member of clan that is considered to be very trustworthy and legit, being parked in corner somewhere silently leeching from bot group. 2 weeks earlier they were complaining about farmers taking over hunting spots and unability to raid radbosses.
I have main in desired equipment, C alt in top C and 3 D alts with brig (no helm though) and top D weapons. I have given almost all my (top) NG stuffs to random newbies I've been partying with. Yet I suffer the same feeling as OP. Specially seeing someone in top A...
