Glaive and miss hits

Player Questions Started Last reply 15 posts
Hi,
I have an artisan lvl 33, with full Brigantine set, and a Glaive.
I noticed that with the Glaive I have to many miss hits, and especially with the flying mobs.
Cause I am new to this game, and I don't full understand the CON STR etc, I have the feeling, that I am do something wrong with all this. I can't explain :(
Below I post a pic with the miss hits and my stats, if someone can help me.

Thanks in advance

it is +DEX for accuracy, but you are sub-40 so a tattoo isn't going to do you any good. Switch to a blunt if you think you are missing too much. It's normal to miss more with a polearm.
You have an Accuracy of 61 - that's pretty low and as already said, polearms miss quite a bit. I think mob level is also a factor. Polearms are designed for multiple mobs, perhaps you could get a blunt (for example a Tarbar) for single mobs and switch to polearm for groups.

If you can get buffs from someone, Guidance can really help (L2Day Guidance scrolls do the same thing). Looks like you're partied with a Shilien Oracle, she should get Guidance pretty soon (doesn't look like a Dark Wizard since she's hitting the mob too).
Maybe the photo isn't help enough, but we went for multiply mobs, just that was one alone when I took the SS :)

Thanks both for your answers, I try to use your suggestions.
It's the mobs you're hunting. Those Grave Monks have high evasion.

If you can switch to duals/blunt when fighting only 1 mob. It helps a lot.
What color were the mobs to you? You will miss more on pink/red mobs I do believe. And as they stated in the replies before, pole arms have crap for accuracy. My guess is because they are designed to take on multiple mobs at once they figure the lack of accuracy balances it out in a way. Whenever I use my pole arm with my Gladiator and I get down to the last mob, I always switch to my duals because I hate sitting there swinging and missing on that last guy. Also, I don't know the official verdict on this, BUT I had always noticed an increase in missed hits on flying mobs. I just assumed they had a higher evasion than other mobs.
Hunt Green mobs with the pole. Anything White->Red and you will miss alot more. Also, some mobs (as mentioned) have higher evasion than others. Look for mobs that actually look like they are wearing Heavy Armor (or hunt in Cata/Necro).
The grave monk is a level 37 mob with high evasion. You're level 33. Ya, you're gonna miss a lot :p
yea... ^^
You will miss a lot if you have not trained your 'Polearm Mastery' skills. Check to make sure you have maxed them out. As an Artisan, you train at the Blacksmith shops now.

If you are 33 and that Monk is 37, shouldn't its name be yellow? Although you will miss more with mobs higher than you, I only notice a large effect on pink and red mobs.

And.. Why do the top and bottom chat boxes not match? They both record battle results, so they should have the same 'missed target' info, shouldn't they?

The bottom box is not set to show damage given or received. This makes it look like he is missing a lot more than he really is. All those misses have accumulated after fighting a lot of mobs.

I remember when I first encountered one I was on a human mystic with a dagger. I did not hit it even once before I died. It does have very high evasion and daggers have very low accuracy. Poles are better but not much better. Blunts win but suck at critical.
Well, notice when he got xp... So he actually did mis all those hits at one enemy.

But again, thats not odd, since he was fighting a grav monk at lvl 33..

Hmm, true. Time to get out of there, or move to white or green mobs at least. That's just not an efficient way to XP at all. Polearms are meant for group mobs at or below your level. Way more efficient. At level 33 I was in the Wastelands grinding on blunt weak mobs (golems) with a Bonebreaker.
Yea, my suggestion would be to at least move to one of the FIRST rooms in the catacombs, or somewhere other with the possibility of targetting several mobs at once.
Be sure to take the point though, what winona said about green and white mobs, thats what you should aim at when using poles. Alot of green and white mobs :)
