On the german network www.mmog-welten.de (http://www.mmog-welten.de), Lineage2 is ranked as #7 with 7.20, behind City of Heros and World of Smurfcraft. Guild Wars is ranked highest in our database.
In total, NCsoft got 3 games among the top 7 on our ranking, which is a very nice achievement, IMHO.

to slightly give a answer that is related to the topic.... this can only be a good thing :P, been a constant increase (lost a bunch accounts by banning but :))although they should really increase marketing alot... only one shop had it that i knew.... and it were ALOT of shops, and they said it didnt sell

Last week I was in my local electronics shop and they had roughly 200 copies of the new GuidWars Factions waiting for customers, along with 10+ of the collectors edition, which is holding some goodies, which would make it worth being bought (cloth map, novel, artwork...).
City of Heros and City of Villains are sold too, also as normal and as collectors edition.
NCsoft GTCs are sold as well (without targeting any specific game).
Lineage2 ? What is Lineage2 ? It is not in the stores. It is not listed, it is not promoted at all.
Every new chronicle, there should be a new box. Come on, design and production costs cannot be that high, that it is not worth it.
Lineage2 is only living from website promotion and that simplly does not do it. You need to focus at least somewhat on "Pickup customers", who see fancy cover and read the bold letters "INCLUDING THE FREE EXPANSIONS CHRONICLE I, II, III, IV, V".
Face the facts, some games, such as SWG or EQ2 are SELLING expansions with less content than the C4 update for 20 bucks. The chronicles are for free and that alone would be such a huge point for promotion...

sadly enough taht is the truth and to help promotion, they should add a *high* rate server which will atract alot people to who just cant play cus to short time and they would hardly make any progress or people that cant stand the grind of X1 (aint one of those anymore :P)
but it will also pull people from private servers here which got a larger population together as l2 america and europe do all together...
For MMORPG.com you have to poast in the forums and get a score of 5 or higher before you can review games.
It's to keep company men from giving them all 10's.
Despite the few negatives I posted on MMORPG.com I gave L2 a 9.5 out of 10 total and have posted a lot in there forums about it. After trying the DDO free 7 day triasl and 1.5 months at DaOc, L2 should get a near 10 out of 10.

That is amazing! Everyday I look at that hoping it will grow. I saw it at like 7.0 a few months ago actually (maybe 5-6). Slowly rising. You know what this means? New server NcSoft :D!!!

A perfect example of this is that they aren't showing Lineage II at E3 at ALL this year (granted they do have a lot of the Lineage II team here, so they get a +1 for that). But definitely - a lot for not showing L2 on the show floor at all. And yes, they have new content they could be showcasing....such as Chronicle 5 on the Korean PTS (they have a Korean version of Tabula Rasa up and running btw). Sure it'd be better in English, but SOE is showing at least one screen of all of their games from EQOA to Planetside to SWG to EQ2......but poor Lineage II can't even get one little screen at the NCSoft booth (let alone a developer from Korea, which is what I was really hoping for).
They're business of course, but I think its a mistake not to market Lineage II at all at E3, especially with all of the new content...but nope.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. The total population of private servers is higher than the total population of official servers, well at least concerning NA population. The game is not bad at all and NC soft could still make MAD bank off of it if they just played their cards right, but sinc ethey are ******ed that will never happen :(.

I guess this has to do a lot on the fact even without much marketing, L2 has by far one of the most popular subscribe game......so sad
As a sidenote, I don't like mmorpg.com too much, its really sad to see a site thats promoting MMORPGs, at the same time advertise for adena/gold sales, account sales and even exploits :(

The genre really needs a clean up.
On that notion, I would like to state, that www.mmog-welten.de (http://www.mmog-welten.de) is growing with each day and that we host a lot of games-fansites by now and still run a policy strictly against the secondary market and any advertisments of it.
As of today, we got well over 100 ad-links blocked from our ad banners (most of them from google-ads) and we delete every thread linking the secondary market or freeshards and the likes.
All of our fansites actively uphold the respective EULA and RoC.
Still we are being 100% financed by our ads, so it IS possible to "stay clean" and still run a large network with terabytes of traffic per month.
MMORPG.com does not advertise RMT sites, at least not anyplace I can see, and the last time someone mentioned an expoit, not only was the post deleted but the user banned. :p
Hmmm, if they don't anymore, then they've recently changed their policies, because they used to have alot of it. perhaps they got business pressure to remove it.
They have the advertisments but it's one of like 30. So chances are you won't see it. Besides they have like 8 ads running at a time so it's even harder to notice.
They don't allow exploit posts though. I don't think to many MMO companies will stop using MMORPG.com because the numer of hits they have. It's also in English and more people speak English then any other language. :o
With C4,the userrating for L2 is on 7.7/10 on mmorpg.com , coming from a mediocre 6.4/10 in the early chronicles!!
I think they will hit the top 5 if C5 turns out to be great.

If only they knew the ratio of players to [insert nameless automatons here]. My honest guess is that it's about 1 to 15 right now. A trip around any hunting area can verify this.
Not sure about your server, but mine barely has any real players left.
