Does m.atk affects success of sleep & root skills use ?
From what I know: Not really, it's just the lvl of the skill that I found to be really important. But I could be mistaken of course.

INT: Increases damage of magic attacks and success rate of curse spells.
So, there is no difference, what kind of weapon i use to cast root or sleep ? And i can use low ng weapon to cast root or sleep even if i am a highlevel character ... (i'll try to choose weapon for SE)
As lvl54 I have the following (never really have problems landing root or sleep even with high lvlmobs)

Full Divine Set

+3 Eminence Bow (previous I had a +3 ELS and a +3 SoR, didn't make that much difference)

So, even I never tested it, seems about right that you can land a root or sleep with f.e. a Falchion. The only real thing for an SE to choose a Top grade weapon is casting speed and the power of your heals (although an m attk of 700-900 or 500 doesn't make that much difference in healing)
it does.

is there any official datas or formulas about this ?
different people have different opinion
people who tested this cause thinks that it does not
i'm lost :(
it affects sleep&root, and to a lesser degree heals (there is a "wall" at about 900matk after which raising matk does not increase the amount healed by much anymore, so it is not worth getting a high matk weapon just for heals). Basically, using blessed sps (which gives x4 matk) on a sleep/root increases the chance that the skill lands far, far more than getting a high matk weapon. If you have empower and use blessed, something like a homunculus sword is good enough to land root/sleep on non-resistant lvl 80+ mobs nearly all the time. In pvp, it depends on the buffs of the target anyway. If the target has mental aegis or some set bonus resistance, you can just about forget about landing root/sleep.
simple test:
try w/ weapon
try W/O weapon
try w/ weapon + blessed shots
try w/ barehands against no jewels
---
yes there is formula from prima guide and from stolen c1 code...
edit:
also it's possible to find the formula just w/ tests... known paraters: mattack, mdef, caster lvl, target lvl, sleep/root lvl, sps, bsps
[it's just for theory - but it's possible - requires quite a few field tests].
presently the formula is changed to incl. armor bonuses (incl boss jewels) and ench. of skills.
For a valid test (to determine the formula) you will need to know the stats of the mob targeted...which you don't. So forget it.

I think that matk does impact the sleep root landing, as does the weapon you use.

You have players for a reason, pls think before *put* such remarks. (btw actually i am amazed anyone would ever think about mobs when it comes to tests)...
I someties forget to give myself empower. When this happens root fails a lot more; it fails maybe 1 in 3 tries, where as if i give myself emp it will fail 1 in 20 tries. This is without useing sps or bsps, i am LEV 57 (SE) and it was on green mobs. I did this several times while leveling a hatchling so yes matk does affect root landing so i would assume sleep as well.

Root and sleep are debuffs so they are affected by matk , +int dyes, spiritshots etc.

But luck does play a very high role as always :D. You might even root someone 20 lvls above you without blessed spiritshots.
