Pets ?

Hello All
I have never gotten into the whole pet thing. I wanted a stryder but got bored lvling my little dragon after one lvl. Now the other day someone told me that the new pets can heal you if you are a fighter class or reg. your mana if you are mage class. I have a new lvl 35 elf wizard and having less down time with mana reg would be nice. But last night someone told me that that was not true and that pets in the beast farm in the new area can do that but you can not keep the pets. Can anyone kindly explain what is the real deal with pets. Thanks
Cougars heal you from time to time when you are a fighter. I don't know if they would regen mp when you are a mage really.
From what I understand, the pets in the beast farm are meant to stay there.

Never been there myself, so rather then tell you lies I will say I dont know :p. But I am guessing that once you do get a pet there and it grows it might restore mp. But it has to be high lvl and so do you.

However the only pets that can give you mp is your servitors, and being a light elf, in your case your Unicorn Boxer gives back mp. Other than that, I don't know. Maybe siting down, or a recharge from a higher lvl shilen elder or elven elder.
Ok the new baby pets so of course heal you not HUGE thou it's only for like 26-36hp when your health falls quite a bit! and if you level your baby pet they don't get bigger BUT the heals do increase and go up so they will eventually start healing you for more :)
The baby pets have heals that will sharply reduce the downtime of a solo melee class. They also have an "emergency heal" that burns their MP for a single spell but heals almost as much as a real healer--but don't bet on it going off in time to save you.

Tamed creatures, which only show up in one specific (fairly high level) area, do more. They are not pets. You can't take them with you.

All baby pets do is follow you around, take 10% of your experience, and heal you. None of them restore MP or fight, those are different pets/tamed creatures.
One thing to keep in mind with the 'baby' pets is that they are incredibly weak.

One hit is enough to kill them 10 times over.

Nor can they wear any armor. They no atk ability whatsoever.

About the only thing that is an even match for them is an elpy.

It is possible to level them in various ways as they take 10% of your xp instead of only getting xp based on their own damage, but fighting with them out as a melee is usually an exercise in how many Blessed Pet Rezzes you can carry/afford.
If you are a nuker or archer class the baby pets I have foundin my opinion have been useful and mine have never never died once and and I have been albe to level them (even thou it took long only 10%) which is actually good b/c then they aren't stealing TONS of exp :) I enjoy using mine on both my nuker & archer and if you have the money to feed them and basically one shot a lot of things then do the quest and get one they are really cute too :p

They were designed for melees in the first place, or so I think. And there are ways to keep them alive. Just put them in a safe place not too far from where you level and put them on hold, not follow. They will actually ignore the hold and come heal you when you need, and then run back to the safe spot. Quite smart. I did this with a cougar for a while, then I got sick of the 10% loss of exp, and the heals were the same even as the cougar lvled. Maybe 11hp instead of 10. So I sold it.

With that said, I am definetely getting one in the future because it was said on several forums that they will get weapons and armors, just not this chronicle. I am hoping c5 to be that chronicle. When they do, I am gonna do the quest again and get another.
using beast bsps, my level 31 baby cougar heal 79 hp...

they can also be useful for nukers that use BTM
