What's the Most Useless Skill?

This isn't for the player question section because it's a poll.

Ok, here is the qualifier:
1) Has to be a formal skill that levels with the toon... EE's level 5 windstrike at level 75 does not count. Your point must also be accompanied by an explanation.

______
I used to think it was Elven Elder's Serenade of Eva because they get Party Return... So Why would they need a skill to de-aggro mobs that only works a fraction of the time?

That was until I found a sweet use for it. In TOI we were doing an AOE party and the bishop pulled muy aggro. The Warlords were already occupied and we didn't have sleep cloud... So I ran up to the bishop and casted Serenade of Eva... Lo and behold, it landed and pulled 6 mobs right off the bishop that paused for a moment before running back over to the warlords . Since then i've put it on my hotbar for any AOE pad.

So now I would say the most useless skill would be Kiss of Eva. At the higher levels, everyone's health regens faster than they take damage from drowning.
Bandage...

Last skillevel comes with lvl 62, so it does qualify as a "leveling skill", even if there are only 3 levels.

The only sense of the skill is to fool newbies around that dwarves were able to cast spells.

it convinces some people you are subclassed. Then they leave you alone cause they think you can switch to a lvl 75 dwarf to come fight them. :)
Cubic Mastery II for summoners and TK is technically useless.
Those classes have completely no use of that skill on their own ;)
What do these skills do and why are they then useless?
cubic masteryI allow user to summon 2 cubics... the II allows you to summon 3 cubics... but you can't :P 2 cubics is the max allowed afaik (so, WHY this skill exists????)
Cubic Mastery 2 is no longer a dead skill - I can't count the time I've had to gnash my teeth as Harsiesis or Lavamancer or Boo or ONE OF ALL THOSE BLOODY SUMMONERS (*cough* really guys I love you :o ) knocked my life cubic out of my cubic slots with a mass cubic.

Cubic Mastery 2 allows you to receive one additional cubic to (or in the case of the case, use all of) your own, and is thus not even remotely useless - just situational.

The most useless skill would have to be that dance that protects from territory damage. <snickers> It's not levelling, but it's part of the late-level upgrade skills for BDs.
Paladin's sacrifice is pretty useless you give up X life to heal another target by 3/4X. Why would the tank heal someone else? You should be using hate to draw the mob off or using stun to stop the person attacking. And in C5 with hate working on players it will become even more better a skill to use over sacrifice. And for anyone that says oh itsa good skill my life was saved by it you must have a pathetic group to need to rely on this seriously with hate mobs should stay off others and in pvp a tank giving up 1k life from a high defensive target to a weaker one for 750k you are just making it easier for enemies they can now effectively sap out all the tanks life without having to go through their defense just funnel it off through other group members.

Any paladin that uses this skill routinely should reroll a bishop instead.
I don't know why a heal out of something with 2k PDef could be useful... I wonder. Any squishie living longer is a good thing for the group - it's not like anyone drops the tank before things are too late anyway, and with Sacrifice their HP is doing something good at least.
Unlock seriously with chests giving jack for loot and 50% of them being mimics you waste money buying and using keys
I think the poison skills from the SH are pretty useless as well.
Why poison a mob when u can 1 or 2 shot them?
Surrender to poison, poison, poison cloud. Same reason as above, why poison when you can two shot.

Might of heaven, requiem, repose. My 47 SH can solo the same mobs better than my 74 bishop. Useless skills because they are not only very limited, but very situational.
Since the big nerf, I would say Wind Shackle has little to no use for me. I do not wanna waste my mana shackling monster for few seconds ...

I think most curse skills now are only usefull for raid mobs. On my necro the only curses I use are gloom, sleep, silence and para for mobs or pvp the other ones are nice but not noticable unless on raid mobs
Most useless?

Class: Overlord
Skill: Seal of Scourge

Effect: (And I use that term lightly.) Prevents a mob from recovering HP naturally. NOTE: It doesn't prevent Heals from working...it just prevents a mobs standing regen from taking effect.

Whether your solo or in group, preventing the mobs regen is worthless as mobs regen so slow anyway, that the MP cost and effect of this skill are a complete waste. And on the one mobs that this skill would be GOOD at (Raid Bosses) are IMMUNE to this debuff.

And pvp? Forget it. This doesn't prevent normal heals. With all the Nukers/Mages healing is almost useless as most people are 2-3 shot kills anyway. (Who is gonna run up and cast this at point blank anyway? Your gonna cast a USEFUL spell like Silence, root or Flame instead!)

Paladin's sacrifice is pretty useless you give up X life to heal another target by 3/4X. Why would the tank heal someone else? I won't reply with a snarky remark, but come on, sacrafice is a good skill to have.

1) Seige time.... your dwarf is working his golum or hog cannon, everyone but everyone is trying to take him out. Sacrafice keeps him alive!

2) Since when has any tank been able to "always" keep aggro over mobs when he's got nukers taking the aggro away all the time (especially at the lower levels when mage damage output is way over what the tank can usually compensate for in hate skills). You lose that aggro and all hell breaks loose. That quick fire sacrafice has saved a few peoples [censored] in a pinch!

Obviously its not meant to be used as a regular heal, but its sweet to have when you need it!

Inch.
Paladin sacrifice is awesome. Something bad happens, the healer heals at the wrong time, etc.. and gets aggro.. can't heal themselves fast enough, or gets interrupted..

"1187 hps have been restored by Karigan"

Bandage only has use in pvp, when someone bleeds you. Even then.. 9 times out of 10 you're screwed because you have to go to your actions menu to find the stupid thing.

Kiss of Eva is NOT USELESS! It is frequently used for showing affection.. and level 2 comes with tongue.

How about the damage dealing summons for wizards prior to level 40? They're even pretty useless when you get them.

I almost spit out my drink laughing at that one. :)
Every one of the Detect Weakness skills that Warlords have.

Detect Animal Weakness
Detect Beast Weakness
Detect Plant Weakness
Detect Insect Weakness
Detect Dragon Weakness

All of these skills are supposed to increase your Patk when you confront any MOB with one of the listed attributes. With the exception of the Ant Nest, I have never been in any area where the skill actually increased your Patk. I've used detect plant weakness in EG and my Patk never moved. I've used Detect Beast weakness on MOBs with the beast attribute and it didn't raise one tittle.....

Can I say "tittle"???

Da Smookster...
It wont raise your attribute because that would be too confusing. You activate and simply do more damage to that mob when you attack.

Useless skills....hmm....Id have to agree with Cubic Mastery 2 with Temple Knights, can summon 3 cubics but only has 2 kinds, so cannot summon 3 cubics....

Either that or Curse: Weakness

They can party with a sumoner and get 3 cubics on him. Everyone without cobic mastery can have only one at a time.
Yea but unlike the Dark Elven SK a TK cannot summon 3 of his own, thats just a cheap shot at elves, NC cant even come up with a 3rd cube for them even thought many have given ideas to them.
Seal of Mirage Throws nearby enemies into chaos, causing them to attack anybody randomly.

Never seen it work, not once on anything from deep dark blue on up.
Not one mop in a group ever. Every status message says it failed.

I know this cause I kept trying to use it against bots. Figured I didn't have fake death so I would train them up run to the bots (so far no aggro on me), the bots would be whacking away and I would cast that. Even if 50% of the mops stayed on my tail, one would think some of them would switch off.

Nope, nada, never ever ever.
They will only switch to a target they already have partial aggro on from what I understand.

Did anyone say Invigor yet?

invigor OK in certain rooms of IT.
My thoughts were that Detect xxx weakness increased your p.atk but only to that type of monster. It won't show up on your stats, but you will do more damage to that creature.
- Did you test if you did more damage?

I might be wrong, I don't play a gladiator.
Well, after the introduction of Mass Cubics everything is useful somewhere - even the Territory Damage Protection dance thing might be helpful in BS.
Surrender to Poison.

SURRENDER TO [censored] POISON

A useless modifier to a semi useless tree of debuffs. Semi useless in that Poison cloud has it's uses.

Even when done right, it does absolutely nothing.

Hmmm...I've managed to get it to land about 1 in 10 on mobs 35 levels below me....but thats about it. And it doesn't last terribly long. Madness is the same skill, just a single target version and the land rate on that is about the same...complete crap.
I would have to say Charm the most useless skill imho

ty my good friend caus if nobody had said Charm by the end of this thread I was gonna 923 a big 923ing brick of steaming cow 923. ty CHARM DOSN'T DO ANYTHING IN PVE UNLESS YOU'RE A SR AND YOU DON'T WANT SO MUCH AGGRO !!!! WHY THE 923 WOULD A TANK WANT ONLY A LITTLE HATE ERRASED FROM HIM ???? <CARLOS MENCIA> DEEE DAA DEEEEEEEEEEEE !~~~~~~~ <RANT> <RANT> GRRRRR
This subject seems to come up from time to time.
I always mention surrender to earth. I did a test on that (a not very complete test that is).
On my 72 sps, I tried to sleep a 65ish SR 10 times with and without surrender to earth. He wasnt wearing NM, had full prophet buffs (Mdef and Aegis). I had no buffs on (no empower), and I used blessed shots, was wearing NM robes and BoTMT.
I landed sleep (which I am told is an earth based skill.. the only possible use for surrender to earth) 1 out of 10 times without surrender to earth, and 2 out of 10 with.
I didnt have a very large test size, so I cant make any accurate conclusions, except that surrender to earth does not significantly increase landing chance. You'd probably be better trying to land sleep twice rather than surrendering.
Maybe one day Ill do a more comprehensive test.. but I cant see it being worth the time and effort since no one uses it.
Dance of Protection

That terrain isn't going to mess with me now!

Lol as if charm was even working ... I've tried it on blue greens yellow... whatever. Before or/and after aggroing. On agressive or passive mobs... With or without hitting. Guess what ? I aggroed and kept it.

Also any active and non buffing skill is useless on a SR in PvE.
Stun shot ? double shot ? With the Mp consumption of those, use it twice and start to consider stopping for regen. Even with a cheap shot bow. And don't forget that SR's are the only archers not to bet body to mind in C5... Go figure where the balance guy is.

(Note to the people interested in the social context of L2.. if SR's don't get B2M cos' of a supposed incompatibility with the nature of Light Elves consider a Mind to Mind then. They are bookly able to concentrate and foster enough to pull more Mana strenght from their mind.)
IE : M2M active skill - consumes 80 MP - gives 160 MP to the caster - recharge time = the time it takes to a B2M user to get back his HP...

Getting Mana back is overall a bad idea as it change the balance too much and basically put you in an FPS with the full ammo cheat on.

But if it's to have some toons have it, I don't see why Light Elves should be the only archers who could not gain mana back.
