This sucks...

I reached level 41 last Saturday with my very first character, Elf Elder. Yay Me!? Yes, but not really.

Having a schedule change from days to nights, I was unable to play again until Friday morning. I got on and said hello to some friends, but most were in trader mode or were logging off. A little side story. I saved my adena so when I reached 40 I could buy some good armor and weapon. Which I did. Now, I'm broke "C-grade" costs alot. So there I am, I have very little adena and I start shouting for a team or raid. I would wait about an hour (real time) and would TP to another town or village.

Well, after 6 real-time hours of shouting for a team, I had enough and logged. I had to get sleep ya know, working Nights. It might not have been so bad, but there was no one shouting they were looking for a team either. I would have put one together.

The only time I had to play in a week and I didn't get to. Now I'm stuck in Dion and not enough Adena to get anywhere. Guess you can say I want you to feel sorry for me and perhaps invite me along when you see me shouting for a team. I am sure it gets annoying seeing me shout all the time as well.

Anyways, thats my story for today.
You can't expect to find a team all the time. One of the reasons why it is good to play multiple chars is that you can make money, have diversity in gameplay and a wide spectrum of possibilities for grouping.

Besides that, leveling after 40 is quite harder then you are used too. That's just the core of the game and although I find the game after lvl40 more interesting then before, you really have to get used to it. L II has much to offer once you get your 2nd occupation change done.
And as Elven Elder you have a couple of skills that every party wants: Resist Shock and Party Recall. Ok those skills don't come at lvl40 but 40 > 48 ain't that hard to do.
Well, most ppl stop doing random groups at 40+. As uve done 40 lvls, u should have found some friends and should start to look for a clan. Make urself a home somewhere and continue playing with ur mates =)

Places where "unknown" ppl get maybe an invite if they r usefull would be the catas, try going to branded and shout "healer lfg", healers r often needed and welcome to lil partys (duo/trio).
Use Might of Heaven to lvl on undead mobs (shackles in IT, other ones other places look online) If you need EE books I have most of them except greater heal. PM me on here or ingame, SonofFlux.
Hi Inergia,
I m having the same problem but i sort of the feeling that its gonna be like this for us poor neo-40.. :)
My main toon Reocandros is Lvl 48SH and my alt Tabor is Lvl 44WS.. why dont you pm one of them when you're on line?
Im always looking for heals/buffs and wouldnt mind partying with you, for cata or normal grinding..
Besides.. Tabor know you already pretty well
Hope to talk to you online soon.

Hey.. Yeah, life after 40 changes a lot.. Raids dont give near enough xp anymore, and it sucks to find groups.. If you have a good clan it helps a lot, bc ppl tend to start clan raid parties, at least mine used to (now were too high, raids rarely give more than 2% a boss, but the drops keep getting better!).. PM me in game and Ill try to set you up with some of my clannies, theyre always doing something fun.. :)
Well if we had enough clannies online at one go that would be possible of course...But you see Ine is part of the clan I'm in and most of the time when I'm online they aren't and vise versa :)

The clan has people from Australia, UK, France, Belgium, Germany and USA. Different time zones and different ways of life (RL I mean) thus different moments to be online. Last time I saw anyone online near my time of gaming was almost a week ago :D And then again when we do plan a hunt most of the time none shows up for it ;) So where lays the solution...A clan can only work as well as the members want it to work..When offered help one rejects and when none is their to help one argues...But when we do are online we always try to party together :) (for as much as one wants to join in of course...)

None the less it's true that once the chars evolves over 40+ it becomes more and more difficult to find groups or raids and the grinding even more then it used to be. A good filled list of friends can be a solution as well as a PM or notice to the clanies via IG tools or these boards PM system can be used to set up a meet proposal :)
Thanks for all the wonderful posts and encouragement. Just wanted to let you know everything is fine now. That day I posted had been a real doozy. Lack of sleep, too much work so I was tired and cranky.

I'm having a wonderful time. My clan mates are awesome. I have made a few friends outside the clan and a couple of us team together almost daily. There are some real nice people in this game and it really shows here.

Thanks again guys and expect a "tell from me soon :)

You're welcome hun ;)

Glad to hear it's all ok now and as promised IG I'll set up a few dates for clan gathering and we'll dash out to hunt a bit together ;)

How does EV or FoM sound to you ;)
I'm up for anything. Rift was pretty fun when I did it with a friend. Not bad drops when everyone is close to the level of the Rift event picked.
I really hate joining a game where most people are way higher then me and the only people I meet are leveling alts. Which makes teaming with them on a regular basis, impossible.

Its real tough for us new players to the game to get to know anyone.
It's true that most of the server is higher level, but not only are there other players like you out there, there are people rerolling, coming back to the game, or starting fresh level 40 subclasses.

XP at your level goes rather quickly, and you'll find that your options will open up more as the level gap between you and the rest of the player base diminishes.
I blame most of it on myself, well my boss really. Been working Nights for several weeks now, with several more weeks to go. Which puts me online around 1pm GMT or 7 am MST. This has all the American and European people at work or going to.

I have over 20 names in my Friends List, so I have met people. Just that some that I meet once and we play all day that day, never see them log on again. Like I said above though, my play time has changed in the last couple of weeks.

it wont take long, but in this game you have got to learn to solo as well.

Check out the recruitement section and see if there is a clan that you'd like to join and then talk to them and see what number of ppl they have that play when you do.

good luck.
