This was going to go in suggestions, but I think it warrants discussion.
I think it might (or might not) draw PvP out (which would benefit melees, healers and all those classes that need some love) if stacking benefits for offensive stats were removed - and by that I don't mean not make things stack at all any more, but that every new bonus grabs the base value before calculating.
Thus, for example, acumen would add 111 cast speed to humans regardless of whether they were wearing divine or devotion set, and song of hunter would use the base critical rather than something already improved by Focus - etc.
Defensive stats should stay as is. What do you think?

I'm convinced the devs never stack buffs, failed math and don't understand compounding percents. Therefore there is no problem to fix. :p
If buffs didn't stack, acumen would add about 150 cast speed at any given level. ;)
And I'm not asking for implementation - but on the pros and cons. I do realise it will mean less efficient PvE, but of course that can be balanced out with mob strength.
this would significantly nerf destroyers. only class i can think of that gets 2 stackable self-buffs (for p att), and also, 2 stackable passives (for p att). really, the suggestion does make sense, but maybe you werent considering this class. also not sure at all how totems work for monks, if they are % based or what.
Yes, most boni are %age based. The only fixed values are
- Evasion buffs
- Runspeed buffs
- Accuracy buffs
- Soulcry
- Soulguard
- Vicious stance (apparently this one is hybrid)
- SAs
I know that it would hurt destroyers - but are they really so weak in comparison to other melees that they can't take a slight slap?
well theres a huge difference between 14k p att and 11k p att...lol
yea really i dont think it would make a bit of difference at all anyways. anything over 10k is just for bragging rights.
From what I hear, VS adds an amount that's not based entirely on a %age of the damage - thus coming up better with daggers than with bows - but I haven't experimented with it, so I wouldn't now.
Taraza, It's no problem to restore Song of Hunter to "double the crit rate" and include SAs in the base markup if this change is implemented. Think outside the box a little. :)
This screws up melee folks more then it does casters. Us casters have very little in the way of buffs that actually does something when stacked. Melee on the other hand....
That's what I thought originally - then I remembered Death Whisper. :p
Less crits and less magic cast speed would mean longer, more strategic and more balanced PvP - although of course stuff like people actually getting to close in on range would still have to be fixed.

Hopefully the knights' Arrest spell lands well in C5, well at least it should with Bsps :)
