i admitt that im a forum noob, and im sure this is something that all people should know inherently, but based on context it just doesnt seem to mean anything at all. for example what is the difference between a bumped post and an umbumped post? is it posted then bumped, or bumped them posted? if i get bumped, should i feel insulted or smile and nod? is there a limit to the amount of bumping one should allow before bumping bump back? by the time you read this, this post will have been bumped, because it was bumptastic.
At the time you postet this, the post was like the second or third post in the board , now at this time while i read this its on the fifth post or somthing at as time would go by it would be on the second page then on the third and so on .
Now by replying to this post i am "bumping" it meaning i am bringing it back to the top. The use of bumping is if some one reads a post he thinks is important he bumps it to the top so others or more others can see it since most people dont read more than page 1 or 3 not to mention page 20something on forums.
oh i get it :) ty for the bump ^^
i was starting to wonder if it had something to do with stickys, or can a post could be both sticky and bumpy...so, why doesnt someone suggest in the suggestions forum that more posts show up per page? might make forums less bumpy.
Bumping is also against the rules here; just posting "bump" to move something up. If you actually had something real to say on an old post it's ok though.
