Weapon for new Palus Knight

Player Questions Started Last reply 10 posts
Hi, I just became a Palus Knight and I'm not sure what to do about a weapon choice. I have been using two-handed swords for the last 8 levels. I have the Zeighander(sp) right now and have been looking around for the next 2-hander and haven't seen one.

Any suggestions on what weapon set-up i should go with?

thank you
Well, you're a Knight class. So ideally, a 1hand sword + shield. However, that would be the optimal for you after 40.

Pre-40, a 2 handed sword is still the best by far.

"Heavy Sword" is the lowest and cheapest 2handed you can find. Then if you go to Giran town, they have the "2H Sword".
Then there is the "Claymore" which is TOP D 2handed sword.

Best thing to do is IF you can afford it, buy the "2H sword" from Giran, level in Catacombs/Necropolic till you have enough Ancient Adena. When you have it, trade and upgrade that 2H sword to Claymore from Blacksmith of Mammon who is found in random Catacombs every other week.

Other than that, a price for 2H Sword is around 1.2million. Where as a Claymore is around 3million adena.
ohhh cool. Thank you for the reply. AFter my first post it remembered about the library on here^^ Although that just gave me a broad idea. Your post is very helpful.

I was looking at the Claymore and it has a "crystal count" by it....what does that mean?
the cryst value is the "hard value" of an item. ie when a dwarf crystalice the item he gets this amount of crystals.
ie never sell an item for less than it´s value in crystals =)
oh, that's interesting. I really have no idea how the craft system works in this game. Thanks!
Crystal value only applies to D grade anyway. I don't see how dwarfs justify crushing B or A grade weapons for crystals. That's the stupidest thing in the world imo.
admiral, could I solo in the Catacombs/Necropolis for ancient adena?

and the two-handed sword is about 1.2 mil??? T_T What's a good way to get adena? Grinding is probably best I imagine...and selling my drops?
Solo? probably not. At least not with out spamming Soul Shots and HP pots AND having a great weapon.

Mobs in dungeons range from 2x HP to 6x HP. They resist just about all attacks. Some classes with + good equipment + lots of extra adena for Soul shot and pots do great there for a while. My orc raider can solo an entire room in a catacomb. He's lvl 32 with best D grade everything.
You probably can't at this level/gear. Find a party. A Duo or Trio would work great. (eg: tank(you), nuker, any other class. Find a dwarf to group with, they are pretty sturdy and will fetch ya extra materials you can't get yourself)

I wouldn't sell your material drops to buy shops. They will rip you off on everything they buy. Look around at SELL shops for prices on your server and do that. Try not to spam SS when you can, hunt green mobs, etc.

When you have a bit of adena, start investing. Buy Low and Sell high. When you get a bit of Ancient Adena and Blank Scrolls(get the quest from the Gatekeeper in any Necropolis/Catacomb) you can start buying items from Mammon Trader and reselling those for proffit.

Most quests pre-lvl 40 SUCK horribly, but can earn a bit of extra adena.

These forum boards have tons of threads with various adena making techniques. Otherwise it would take nearly a book or at least a good sized essay to sum it all up in one thread. Search around the Player Questions and General sections for these Adena making threads :p
awesome!! Thanks for the info!
You can't actually upgrade the heavy sword - so the best is to get a sword of revolution or tarbar and start fighting in cats until you have enough money to buy the AA to upgrade (you need 480k).

The manor is your friend.
