I recently (in the past 2 weeks or so) pulled my EE out of retirement. I havent played her much since last summer. Looking at A-grade robes for EEs, most everyone (including myself) would say that Majestic is the best choice.
However, now that I'm back into the swing of things, I've been noticing some things.
First of all, every stinking time that I have tried to PR in a pvp situation since coming back, I've been interrupted. EVERY SINGLE TIME. Did they change that since C4? Like, if you get hit between the time you cast it and the time it goes off, it just automatically gets cancelled? That ticks me off. ('course, I did get 3 PvPs on my untagged SpS today because of it, causing the idiots who attacked me to loose 4% each vs. my EEs 1% loss, so that was fun. :p And before you say anything - the only times I try to PR is when I'm greatly outnumbered, jumped, or over half my party is AFK.)
Another thing I've noticed is that the 50% Stun Resist that Majestic supposedly has doesn't seem to work. Another EE in my clan wears Majestic and we were PvPing in DVC the other day and he got stunned like every freaking time someone hit him. The set bonus didn't seem to work, at all. He musta died like 5 times (unfortunately I DC'd during that fight so.... I did get to rez him once. x.x)
Anyway, so I still think, at least on paper, that Majestic is the best set for the healer. But my recent observations almost make me want to go DC, stupid as that may sound. (DC has a "small decrease in chance of spell interruption") I remember EEs wearing DC back when A-grade first came out, but that mighta been because Majestic was unavailable. Do any EEs wear DC now? Or is that stupid? Does the stun bonus on Majestic actually work?
Everytime so far that I tried to stun someone in Majestic, they aren't stunned.
not that i can land stun often on mages wearing any other armor but with that its impossible
whats even more fun is the amazing 100 damage i usually do with hammercrush becomes more like 10 in resist stun armor
Strange... that an EE of all classes would get stunned so often.
I find just having the CH version of resist shock prevents stuns to the point of being a godsend, yet EEs in majestic are getting chained.
As a matter of fact, on the PTS, I did a stun test on myself between my necro and my ws. Granted, this was testing the S grade bonus, but still. With resist shock, a lvl 77 WS landed stun on a necro in Major Arcana/ lvl (2?) resist shock 2 out of 10 times, and 5 out of 20... VS without, which was 8-10, and 15-20.
Yes it does. It works very very well, I wore BW in sieges from level 54 to 72, then started wearing majestic. I went from going STUN, DEATH constantly to literally almost never being stunned. I die now because I'm out of mp or too slow, not because I've been stunned first.
Heresay and rumor has told me that Majestic doens't help stun hardly at all. I've never tried myself so i can't say. EE skills and blessed SOE's can be interupted. It seems a high probability too, probably because they're so quick.
The + to resist interupt is supposed to be good. One of the SpS in Neutrality used it and said that he was never interupted while using it so heresay and rumor seem to favor DC over majestic.
According to what I have been told...
The bonus on majestic is a percentage bonus.
Thus if you had a 1% chance to resist stun before, you now have a 1.5% chance to resist it.
If you had a 40% chance to resist stun, you now have a 60% chance to resist stun!
According to what was explained to me (not gonna guarantee the results, but they seem plausible considering my results...)
Stun resist is based off CON and the default hit chance of the stun effect being used. Being an elf caster, you have minimal resistance (25con without tats) to begin with. Adding 50% stun resist to a high stun chance resisted only by your 25 con is not gonna help you much.
Adding 50% resist to a low-stun (even when resisted by your con) adds a more substantial bonus.
