Since raid farmers are here to stay

well since nc has given the thumbs up to the raid boss farmers i suggest a few improvements to help deal with them

for starters in a one way war if you have a zerg and they have a zerg you should be given a time limit in which you either have to flag back or leave the area
no more standing around for hours waiting for the real players to get bored flagging on you so you can go back to raiding

pk points should be relevent to your lvl, theres a big difference better a perma red killing lowbies in AC and a clan trying to make up for the inadequacies of poor support

something needs to be done about mass-rez ive never played a bishop so i really couldnt suggest any viable solutions for that but im sure others could

theres prolly more i could suggest but competeing with ppl who make a career out of a game has taxed me to the point where i cant think ^^
Sry namless it can't be in the mind of the developer that only cause of the darned farmers the pvp systems is getting damged that hard.
My opinion.

Whats wrong with mass-rez ?
THEY ARE NOT HERE TO STAY, NOOB.

THEY ARE NOT HERE TO STAY, NOOB.

What indicators do you have that they're going to magically decide to leave one day on their own?

Or are you finally organizing players on your server to kill them 24/7?
Raid Boss farmer clans and alliances have been banned completely in the past on several servers.

betcha it'll happen again soon too.
Simple solution. You can kill players within ~5 levels of you and not go red. Better game, easier to police the farmers and botters, and more PVP. How to tell what level they are? Add colors to players like they do for mobs. Anyone not green or higher will make you go red.

Didn't work well in EQ and I don't think it'd work here either. All you'd see is PK characters of all levels. And don't forget, farmers would be able to do the same thing to you.
I don't know about on your server, but on ours the famers are a ot more willing to go red then anyone else.
Kill everyone else, kill each other, rez then raid.
Not getting karma just coz your within the level of the others is a pretty stupid idea imo. Killing someone should have a penelty, even if its just killing mobs.
On Devianne, first Dragon, then Disney have been banned. I would assume the newest generation will get banned eventually too - I just wish they were faster about it.
No major farmers have been banned on bartz. Ever.
Dragon are the most major farmers any server has ever had I think by what I heard. I don't know what got them banned though.

I'd assume everyone who can't stand the farmer clans actually petitioning them each day might help - think of all the extra paperwork. xD
I think I understand your point about raid boss farming--others have written about it on these forums (hasn't involved me yet as I'm too low in game).
One question I've always wondered--when my alliance calls for an alliance raid on a boss and I see those collected for the raid it's an impressive collection of really high level players--why couldn't an alliance (or what would stop them from) just slaughter the farmer group?
Sure the alliance members would go red--but then they could allow other alliance members to kill them to burn karma and with % rezz's not loose to much exp from the experience.
It's probably a stupid question but why DON'T alliances just destroy raid farmer groups?
Where did NC give the thumbs up to Raid Boss farmers?

It is true that previous incarnations of farmers on our server have been removed but each time this has happened, those that replace them are more efficient and take more bosses, not to mention that they try very hard to avoid getting banned.

However, it can't be that hard to trace where those billions of adena go. On our server there are several central selling characters that must make 1billion in sales per day together, if not more. That is an awful lot of adena that is not used to purchase anything.

Having a high burden of proof is a good thing to avoid innocent victims, but the raidboss farmers are so obvious. It's a shame more isn't done about this kind of thing.

I like the idea of contested raid content, just don't force us to contest it with an army of sweat shop workers who are on 24/7 and do nothing but raid.

Are you aware that they are continuosly leveling up new "players"? It only takes them 1-2 weeks to have a new party of 70 mages ready to roll. :(
Which is precisely why saying NCSoft gave them a thumbs up, when in fact there's nothing they can do is ******ed. :)

The farmers are smart, they have ways of avoiding this. They always have a bishop logged out right where their character are. It logs in and ally rezes their players with speed that instant possible by normal means, if you get my drift.

They also use more clever tactics such as killing themsevles, rezzing everyone, but not accepting the rez until real players start the raid. They % heal the raid mob and also have a bishop or 2 logged out to ally rez everyone if real players go red. They kill the reds and get free gear.

They have everything covered.
Covenant of Devianne apparently had a few tussles with RB farmers that went well - if you have people with less than 5 PKs to go red and are prepared for the eventualities, it is doable (depending on the farmers and their real player support of course - it doesn't help that some major alliances on servers like Teon and Erica have taken RB farmers under their wing).

The real problem is being actually there when the farmers are and the RB spawns - most real allies don't have the spy logistics that the farmers do.

No major farmers have been banned on bartz. Ever.

flowers got banned for swearing. :(

saddest day in L2 history imo.
Its as simple as this really;

-Raid boss farmers own many accounts, thus NCSoft wont gain anything by banning tons of accounts jsut to satisfy a low number of people.
-NCSoft is either looking the other way or blind to the fact that raid farmers are taking advantage of gameplay by camping and controling the time of every high lvl raid boss spawn for their conveniance. (which is a bannable offense.)
-Normal players cannot compete with professional campers.
-S grade on our server is VERY rare and EXTREMELY expensive due to these farmers.
-And no.. regular raid parties cant compete with massive farmers due to their instant illegal thirs party program assisting and targeting. And the fact that they dont care what % they get when they die. I know for a fact im not taking anything WORSE then an 80% if im killed by a farmer at level 77.
"low number of people"? Do you know just how many people would be happy if RB farmers were gone? :p

If your raid farmers are using third party programs, report report report and get them banned. It's worked twice on Devianne, it will work on other servers (unless Devianne has special bannination hammer status).

Our newest generation of raid farmers are all third party free because of the risk of getting banned.
Sieghardt has most of these issues as well. These raid boss farmers are not stupid by any means. They are taking away all the end game content for us and it's burning people out. We can't camp Baium etc at 4 AM EST in the morning. It just doesn't work for a normal NA player. We have some hardcore people in my alliance but over time it's wearing on us. To add salt to the wound, our enemies have allied them and killed Antharas. It's only a matter of time before they farm him. Sadly for highlevel players, this is going to be the end for most of them. Raid boss farmers are the worst thing to come to L2 imo.

That right there sums it up, and it sums up what will eventually happen to L2 if the powers that be cannot find some way to get the cheating in check.

It's real nice to make lots of cool high end content, but if the farmers are locking the players out of that content in order to try and sell it to the players for real money then we have a MAJOR problem. That is exactly what's happening, and to make it even better, it's happening on every server, without exception.

There is simply no way legit clans and even whole alliances can compete with pro-players. The game fundamentally rewards the people who put the most time in (or at least the toons who get played the most), and unfortunately there just aren't a whole lot of regular players who can play 24/7.

No major farmers have been banned on bartz. Ever.

NcSoft do ban them... Gratz NcSoft, nice work.

/Signed Teon playes
Raid Boss farmers don't need to be banned, they will magically go away when the all players quit. :D
Don't try to beat them in-game. You can't. Rally people and beat them through out of game means, since they are a menace for out of game reasons - something as small as a cussword can mean a ban.

People don't want to petition because nothing will happen - but nothing will happen if you don't petition either.

One thing I remember happening in C3 is that Covenant (then Dynasty? I'm not sure if it was before or after the breakup) raided bosses out from "under" these teams - if you are lacking key players, ask in neutral alliances.

Of course this becomes considerably more different with player alliances protecting farmers.
NCSoft just arent quick enough in making decisions in general which i think is an even bigger problem.
I noticed last night that the drops were way up. It was because of the server being taken down for maintenence and updates. When I played UO, the servers were brought down for one hour every day depending on time zone of server. This is not a fix all but does help in the fact that the botters have to restart. If NC would reboot more often then we would see the drop rates increase for regular players. It is bad when I spend one hour in the orc village and the only MAT I get is one thread....lol.
And yes I realize that the cheaters would adapt, but it will make then have to work harder, if even a little.
/agree

I would much rather see swift action taken with a few mistakes made - if this was the stance they took officially, I'm sure most people would rejoice, even if they ocassionally got hit by an accidental ban.

That would make this game fun again.
Does NCSoft have any plans to rid the servers of these players? It's getting to the point where real players are really getting burnt. I know NCSoft has always taken the stance of let players in game fix these situations. You just can't with this...when a boss spawns at 4 AM EST in the morning. I know most clans can barely pull a group together to get the boss dead. When your playing against farmers who are on 24/7 they will just simply out camp you with 30 to 40 people. Since they play this game to make money. So how can you beat that? If someone has some ideas please share them...
Reportreportreportreportreportreportreport.

And report some more.

Do it every day. Get your alliance to do it. Get the neutrals to do it. Get your enemies to do it (unless they're farmer supporters, in which case they should be griefed as far as it's possible by all others).

If you can, find the sales dwarves that are holding their gear also.

They will be back, but every roundabout ban hurts them badly.
Only real way to beat someone who is online 24 hours per day is to do the same..Or hire someone to camp farmers 24/7.I dont see any other way , because after recent events on Sieg all hopes about "players handling farmers themselves" is gone.
What happened on Sieg?

That would be so siiiiick, even if they made 1 "hardcore" pvp server, with this rule involved, its hardcore, its pvp.

I like it, other games have done similar, or just enforce this rule in certain areas maybe... I dunno it sounds really cool.
But too bad it takes months for Ncsoft to respond to ANY ideas if they do, I mean look how many weeks it took for them to fix the raidboss BD/PET trick, lol.

NCSoft just arent quick enough in making decisions in general which i think is an even bigger problem.
