Lvl61 and looking for DC Robe set + SoM

So I reached Lvl61, and are now looking for some way to get a Dark Crystal Robe set + a Sword of Miracles.

What quests do I need to do go get the recipe, keymats etc. to build the set and the SoM?

Somebody told me something about the ToI quests, but is that the only way or is there any other way to get the recipe and keymats.

The recipe for the robe is done in DVC, you can spoil SOM blades off the angels at the wall of argos, or do the Aden Infernium ore quest to get them, though that's a horrible way to obtain weapon pieces. The helm, boots and glove recipes come from the horrible, horrible TOI quest, legacy of insolence.

Or, you can spend a month or so playing the market ( hard ) instead of grinding/ questing, and make enough adena to buy it.

Personally... doing the quests isn't worth it.

yea...but..DC set 250m ? som (with acumen?) ~170m..thats 420m...thats impossible to make in a month, if you dont already have a good economy. I would say you need 100-150m to start with to be able to do that much in 30 days :/ most ppl dont have that much money.
tok me like 2 months to reach the 100m mark, efter that it goes fast tho.
anyways, yes, doing the quests will take you a lot longer, if you dont plan on gridning in TOI 12 hours / day :P

Depends on your server. A SOM on Kain is 60 mill, DC robes 35 mill, the boots and gloves are outrageous again at 20-30 mill but they were going for 6 just a month or two ago. It's sad that it would take longer to craft all that than it is to make that much money.

yea, som goes for around 60-70m... SC12 goes for around 120m tho.. (if you want the SA)

Yeah it's screwed up , I didn't get my helm until I was 73 thanks to the prices.

God.. I loved those events. 4-6 Raid Bosses an hour, my party winning 90% of the time. I made 28m + DC helmet. Too bad NCsoft ruined the drops on their events now.

We each made about the same amount of adena.

This wasn't the only full drop we got in the raids... this was just my drop.

Funny that this thread was just posted. I'm Sorc and just hit 61 myself and am after the same things.. DC Robe set and SoM. I have 35mil saved thusfar but with the going prices on Lionna it's going to be quite sometime til I'm sporting either of these items. I don't have the time or patience to do the quests, besides, the lag in TOI kills me.

Started with 30mil been playing the market for 3 weeks now and have 301mil. Haven't left giran in these three weeks except to check for deals in Dion and Aden. It can be done but you have to give up on some xping. Oh actuallu I have made more than that so Far since I already bought the DC Robe boots and gloves. So actually I have made 355mil so far. Going to keep going untill I can get SOM/acumen, DC Helm and Majestic jewelry.

If you have alot of time to play it sucks setting in town selling. Im putting in alot of overtime at work so only have an hour a day right now to play. So playing the market works great for right now. I will be doing overtime until July 1st so I may just keep going and see4 how much I can make in 2 months of playing the market. Need enough for a clan Hall in C5 LOL.

I wish I was good at playing the market - I'm making very very slow profit with shot and mat sales. I'm working towards acquiring maybe 40 or 50 million this way, and then I want to start trying my hand at the market a bit more. >.<

When I play the marked, and I get the best result, I can make like 30-40kk in profit in one week or so. Also I have like 50-60kk to use for the trade, and I have 3 chars that do all the trading in avarage 18-20 hours a day (I think I XP with my chars 3-6 hours a day, depending on when it is)

So could you please give us some marketing hints, maybe some informations on how many accounts you use and do you primarly get your profit by trading items, mats, shots or what?
I get the best result by trading common mats and crafting B-grade shots.

Is "kk" for "million" the latest 1337-kiddie slang or why is everybody suddenly doing this silly thing? 30m is still shorter and easier to understand, so why use more letters than necessary without any reason???

Anyway, I still think that for some people "playing the market" is just another word for selling sps at the price of bsps or selling 1AA for 5m. Or buying adena you-know-where.

I would really like to hear from somebody how else you can make that much money in a short time. I mean, there are price differences, sure, but I have hardly ever made a profit of more than 20% or so by "playing the market". And not 1000%.

Horak, its very possible to make that kind of money in that short time...but I belive you gotta have luck and find good deals. best money I ever made was 47m for one day, and 110m for one week...but mostley its a lot less than that.

Ok I realy realy realy hate being accused of cheating. Why spend three weeks playing the market if I was going to cheat. Also its very simple to make 10-30mil a day once you have the capital.

I'll break it down for you. These are Devianne market prices

I started with 30mil. I started off buying white papyrus at 360kea I bought 55 and got 3x5th floor, 4x11th floor, 3x7th floor, 6x13th floor and the rest were various amounts of 1,2,3,4,8,9,10. I then bought 1 6th floor and 1 7th floor.

I turned in one set of TOI blueprints and got DC helm, gloves and boots recipes. I crafted the DC gloves and failed craft on DC boots. Then I sold everything I had for as follows.
DC helm Rec = 80kk
DC Gloves = 20kk
2 TOI 5th for 10kk ea =20kk
3 TOI 11th for 7kk ea =21kk
2 TOI 7th for 7kk ea = 14kk
5 TOI 13th for 1kk ea =12kk

This gave me 167kk. I then started buying all the white and black papyrus in Giran.
bought 250 white paps for 360k and sold for 450k = 22kk profit.
Bought 150 black paps for 400k and sold for 500k = 15mil profit.

I did this 3 times until the farmers cought on and now they sell both white and black for 500k ea.

At this time I had 278kk. I traded my +5 SOV for DC robes and boots. I bought a SOM for 65kk, a soul bow for 80kk and a bop for 35kk. Sold the SOM for 70kk, soul bow for 90kk and the Bop for 40kk.

for a total of 298kk. I then made a huge error and purchased 200 SOm blades for 500k and 174 Dark legion edge blades for 500k. Thought I could make a profit but they didn't sell well. Soo I had to sell them for 500k ea. Sold all the SOM blades so far and have 74 DLE blades left.

yesterday I bought a nightmare helm for 120kkk and resold for 150kk. I also bought a Majestic helm rec for 60kk.

When I left for work I had the 74 blades=500k ea, the Majestice helm rec=70kk and some TOI floors for sell.

Making adena in the market can be done once you have the adena to invest into the market. There are a few other things I bought and sold. But most of them I made such a small profit or actually ended up loosing adena on I didn't list them. It took a good week to figure out what sells fast and what doesn't. you would be suprised what people will pay for stuff if its the only one for sell in Giran. I dont like the prices on my server I think they are way to high. But I have to make adena some way to upgrade my gear. So I play the market a the prices we have.

I need to make 150kk more so I can get SOM/acu, DC helm, and Majestic jewelry and the AA to unseal everything. Hopefully I can do it before june. If not I will keep playing the market.

I dont cheat! I do buy low and sell high. I did get very lucky with the TOI blueprints. I am sure if I hadn't gotten the blueprints I got or the DC recipes I wouldn't have half the adena I have now. But believe me it can be done.

My new gole is to make half the amount of adena it will take to get a Clan Hall in RUNE in C5. Do I think I can do it? maybe. Just depends on the market and any events that come up between now and when C5 goes live. But it is an easier goal for me than to make 75 right now since my grinding time is limited.

Here are some rules I try to go buy when playing the market.

1. Never buy anything that is being sold buy more than 5 PC stores in town.
2. Never buy weapon or armor mats unless they are dirt cheap. There are to many and someone will always undercut your price.
3. Never OE you can make a huge profit or you can loose alot. Its not worth the risk to me.
4. I only buy stuff now if I can make 1kk profit for every 10kk I spend. If I can get a better deal then great but if its less its not worth trying to sell. If you have less capital make your own profit rule.
5.Last rule don't scam and be honest. Advertise exactly what your selling and always make good deal if people offer. I have made some good profits trading gear instead of waiting for adena purchase only.

Ok im done with my rant. I dont cheat I play the game the way I have too, to be able to compete. Take time to work the market and you wont have to go outside the game for anything.

I must admit, your way "to play the marked" is one of the best I'v ever seen.

Whats even better(and something, most ppl would have done) is that you share your knowledge, and thus put your self in a worse marketing position, but its very unselfish :)

I had to figure it out on my own and it cost me alot of adena in the beginning (lower lvl's) trying to play the market. Everyone told me best way to make adena was to OE weapons. I bet I have lost over 150kk oeing weps. They always break.

I dont mind telling people how I do it. If more people would play the market and not ebay. Prices would be alot lower and maybe less of the other's on the server.

I think its hipacriticle to tell someone to play the market. Then when they ask for some help they are told to figure it out on thier own.

Biggest thing to remember is the market ia always changing. So what worked last week may not work this week. So you always have to keep up with the market and not assume you can keep making adena of the same thing over and over.
