Orc Monk/Tyrants and armour as they level

Player Questions Started Last reply 3 posts
Heyas,

I have been told a few things ingame and wanted to get what the general consenus is on this:

Should Monks/Tyrants wear light or heavy armour as they level up? A few people have told me to use heavy until A & S grade as the evasion I would get from Light is not worth the loss of P.Def... then at A+ Grade the Light armour becomes as good if not better than Heavy for the Tyrant...

Are these things good advice/or true?

I'm a lvl 24/25 monk right now wearing light (Puma) and I am trying to figure out where to go next with my gear.

Thanks in advance for any and all comments!
hiya :)

I would go heavy atleast until your lvl 40 tyrent. The reason is since light armor and your evasion isn't worth it compared to heavy armor def.
I went full brig. set until C grade, where I then got Plated Leather set. (mainly because of the +4 in str. it gives).
I was duo'ing with a so then (now se ofcause) so I had buffs and healing when ever I needed it. That duo was probally the best duo, I have ever tried in this game, since I was getting a new lvl very very fast on both of the players.
But back to your question. :)
My advice is get brig set (not nessesary the helmet) (top D heavy) until 40. then get PL (pleated leather only if you can get the complete set) othervise get FP (full plate) armor (heavy armor) until lvl 52. (this is where B grade begins) The choice is then depending on what kind you are as a person. pvp minded all the time? pure PvE all the time? or atleast a few more lvl's?
I have made a thread here on equibment etc. after lvl 52 on my Tyrent. You can read the posts there if you want some advice for the further lvl's :)

hope I've helped a bit with your questions mate.

Good luck out there, and mostly have fun! ;)
I have just switched to Tallum Heavy for my lvl 71 Tyrant. The reason being that none of the set bonuses for top A light are really worth paying 150m for a helmet.

Tallum Heavy gives me +8% attack speed, an 80% resistance to poison/bleed and increased SS carrying ability. And you can pick up a whole unsealed set for less than the price of the helmet for the other sets.

I had been in light all the way from lvl 1 to 71 until now and I'm liking the new armour. That said, I never had any issues with light armour through D, C and B grade, I just don't think the A grade are worth the huge prices for the bonuses that they give.
