Changing you allegiance

For several reasons I am considering leaving the clan I am in, and it I find this to be I really difficult decision to make.

I like the clan and the people from the clan I am in, but right now the clan is pretty "dead", most of the people in the roster are on leave for several reasons. Also some friends are starting a new clan and I would like to help them get it bigger.

Well, this is something I'll have to decide for myself, but I'm wondering how some people do "it".

I mean there is some people I noticed seem to change clan several times, 1 week they are with one, next week clanless, another week another clan.

So what is your views on this? Did you change clan at some time? Was it a difficult or you hop clan like it's nothing?
i have been in clans that were super strong one week, highest levels and all. the next week disbanded.

so whatever your plans are, make sure they are the same plans as your clans plans
Ive been in the same situation. Of course its hard to leave the clan you have many friends in. If the clan is that "death" just make them leave with you.
Even though my first clan were great folks--they NEVER played. I went through 2 class changes with 2 toons almost alone.
Even so--for the time I spent associated with them it was very very difficult to decide to leave.
I still have very positive feelings about those folks.
I can't imagine jumping clans regularly--leaving once was almost like losing a friend.
My new clan plays even more than me and the past month has been great...they are allied and that has introduced me to new parts of the game.
I suppose if current clan changed dramatically I'd consider leaving too--but I'd hate it.
Well i know what you mean, ive just been recently faced with this reality again (4 time in last 2 yrs).

Ima sound cornie here, but breaks my heart everytime it happens, the fammilly/frienship bound you create when u enter a new clan is gold to my eyes, its what makes this game so addictive i think.

But every time that lil familly breaks up, for whatever reason, its hard on the ticker and i try to find another familly, but thats nver easy. I got a new one now, but everything starts again from scratch.

But their a great bunch so far, so this will probably hurt again when something wrong happens n this clan is no more.

But in a game like L2, where theres not really an end to the game until perhaps C12, but i dont think so, this clan/familly thing will always be there, its part of tha game.

I duno if some players have been fortunate enuff to be with the same clan for a yr +. I would be curious to know. Perhaps some are luckier then others maybe... ;)

But go with your instincts... if you really think that a new clan will solve the situation your in, then look for one... I stayed in a 'dead' clan for a while, but nothing really gets fixed when its in this stage...

Cheers!!
I don't clan hop. I use to when I was like lvl 30, but I never knew anybody in the clans too well. I've been in 1 clan until disbanment then the core members all rejoined the clan that I'm currently in.

I've never really left a clan I cared about, so I can't help ya much. I do know things can turn around from 1% activity to 70% activity almost over night if a few things change. So either stick it out until disbanment or say fairwell I guess.
I've been in several clans since I started in open beta. There's only one I chose to leave.

1) Played with them 3-4 times over 3 months, then all but 1 quit for WoW. Clan died.

2) Stayed for 8 months until the leader told everyone to leave and sold his accounts. His accounts were leaders of the main and 3 subs of the ally. Taken over by farmers :( Very, very hard to deal with.

3) Stayed for 11 months, most people including the leader stopped playing or left. Ally disbanded. Told them I was leaving as well. It wasn't too hard to make the decision as most of my "friends" where long gone already.

4) Joined a clan of mostly former 3) people for about 3 months until the leader booted me in a fit, disbanded ally, then quit the game altogether. Was very difficult.

5) Joined a former ally clan of 4) with the people I got booted with.

So basically the only time I ever left a clan by my choice was when it was dead and not going anywhere, and I wasn't making progress. I don't think I could ever clan hop though.
I started in a small clan a long long time ago (prelude or so) as a person who was just checking out Lineage II because they announced the beta release on Beyondunreal.com and I thought it looked awesome.. At that time I didnt know much about Lineage II except that mobs were bad things and I had to heal party members so they could kill those bad mobs.

Later on the clan disbanded because the leader felt he was spending too much time on Lineage and too little on school (After hearing the grades he got, I can understand him). I followed one of the clannies to a swedish clan (me being norwegian myself, but never seeing norwegians ingame) I thought why not, so I followed my clan buddy. it turned out to be a really cool clan and I absolutely loved to hang with them. I got to know the leader very well along with those who were online the most.

Later on we started hanging out alot with another swedish clan, and we later disbanded (tears were shed that day, some didnt follow and I still miss them) and joined the other clan.. I was reluctant to follow at first, loving the clan I had joined, but I followed on and I had an even greater time, it was a perfect clan for me.

Right now this clan doesnt excist any more.. I joined the friends I made who have been active ever since I met them, and its strange to say having never met them before, I would call every one of them my best buddies. It was hard, and I mean really really hard to leave the clan a couple of months ago because I had to focus alot more at school work, but if I ever get back to the game and play like I used to, Ill be sure to contact each and every one of them and try to get back into the clan..

they are a great bunch of people, and I couldnt think of ever leaving them again.. The things I have gone through with these guys n girls have been nothing but incredible..

So I say follow your heart, follow your friends. Don't play this game with sorrow, play it with pure joy, its what the game is all about. If it feels heavy to leave them, just think about everything you can experience with them. Building a new clan doesnt mean the end of the world, its a new world of experiences  :o

PS: If your woundering, the clan I was in won the battle tournament, and gratz to em! U guys are great! ;D
Well it is done, I made my final decision and made a goodbye thread on my now ex-clan forum.

Still that probably was the hardest decision I ever made about this game. :(
My clan history:
1.) First disbanded and reformed. Went with the change, then I
quit the game about two months later.

2.) Joined RP clan. Had a hysteric fit, was embarrassed and left.
3.) Joined new. Lots of drama, was feeling like I would blow up again and left. Few days later, NCSoft napped my account (thus MalineII as opposed to Maline).

4.) Restarted on Devianne, joined a clan and hopped a bit between its alt and main clans. Went to PTS, when I returned they'd recruited a clan that I absolutely couldn't arrange myself with, and I left.
5.) Joined Trinity. A while later, our leaders both quit the game. I'm clanless now and contemplating various offers - or staying solo. The only real reasons I'd want a clan anymore would be a dedicated alt raiding clan, or for clan/allychat though, so it's likely going to be solo for a while.
