Resist Physical attack and Archery

Does resist physical attack on mobs also mean that they are not damaged as much by archery? Or since that is a seperate catagory does archery not count as a physical attack?
an arrow is physical attack.
You sure?

The have archery resist and physical resist. Why would they be separate if they are both physical attacks?

Not saying your wrong, just want to be sure.

they also have dagger resist mobs, but daggers are deffinately physical.

Some mobs resist only daggers, some resist only arrows and some resist all kinds of physical attack.

I cannot honestlty remember if I have ever seen a mob with resist physical attack and one of the other physical resistances tbh.
no im not sure, but its logical.
dagger, blunts, bows, swords, they are all physical attacks.
Okay...I'll check this out if no one has tested it.

Thanks for the answers!
I've been with an archer as the main DD on phys resist mobs, and noticed no difference between the damage ratios (his hits were clearly distinguishable from mine). So I would say, yes, phys resist resists arrows.

I wonder if it still counts as physical damage with holy weapon though. :3 Probably yes.

Yes, it does. Hex works along w/ holy weapon/dance of light.
I believe that the two kinds of resist stack. Kind of like how magic barrier (mdef buff) and resist fire both stack against magic, fire attacks. So a physical, archery resist mob is going to be very, very hard to kill with a bow. Ever tried to sleep a matk resist, sleep resist mob? Ugh.
lol i just thought of the answer!

All elves/de/mages get a buff called 'Shield' This increases your physical defense. This decreases damage done by arrows. In addition tanks get a buff called 'Resist Arrow' this decreases damage done by arrows. the buffs stack.

Logicaly speaking resist phy + resist arrow means the mob simply has shield and resist arrow buffed. Atleast that would make sense. ^^
Thanks for everyone's reply. Just so people know why I was looking for the information, I've included a new page on my site for archers.

Jute's site (http://jute.dreamhosters.com)

Under Lineage II you will see a sheet called "Archer mobs".
There are also some mobs who dont have listen resist for arrows but they are :)

Noticed at ketra orc area than some mobs here, these with shields, dont have any resist but 90% shots have dmg reduced 30% by shield.
I think its as simple as a matter of degree's of resistance.
Its not logical but merely a tool of weapon category distinction.
In otherwords, if a mob is considered dagger resistant then something about its physiology gives it improved protection from the short blade of the dagger but somehow other melee weapons and arrows still do full damage. Similarly arrow resistant mobs have something about them that deflects arrows better but offers no significant advantage in melee.
The final categorisation of physical resistance transcends all the weapon classes and essentialy defines the mobs inherent resistance to melee effects.
I'm sure there are ppl out there that could ascribe all sorts rationale as to why a mob would be dagger resistant but not arrow resistant or vice versa. In the end its a fantasy game so that should be enough of an explanation to put the armchair philosophers to rest ;) P

Theres "resist physical" and "resist archery", which both stack VS archers (mr. Karik can convince you of that). Furthermore, mobs carrying a shield also block often, to furhter decrease the damage they get from archers.
I never bothered to break this down systematically, all I know is that mobs labeled as Phisically Resist go down a lot faster for me than the mobs with Archery Resist.
