I get tiered of everyone all over bishops for rezes when actualy they dont have the best. And none of this I have a 98% rez crap. Yeah this was coppied from another post.

There have been a lot of misconceptions on how you can get the greatest % of res. Because of that I decided to write a little guide.

There are 3 common misconceptions on how to get the most out of your res:

The only way to increase your res is to increase your wit. BSPS has no effect on how much % you get back from your res, only how fast you cast.
Wit does not add a set amount of % onto your res. Commonly people say it is +3 each wit or +5. This is also false.

It is impossible to get a 93% res or 95% res or what ever other variation of such you have heard. There is a hard cap of a bonus of 20% added onto your res.

Now that, that is out of the way we can get onto the good stuff. You must understand that wit adds a % onto your res. So you must take your normal res level, for instant 20% and then add on the bonus by multiplying it in. 23 wit gives a 16% bonus, so you would take 20*1.16 to get how much your res is worth, 23.2.

Here is the % bonuses for wit:

17 = -14%

18 = -9%

19 = -5%

20 = 0%

21 = 5%

22 = 10%

23 = 16%

24 = 22%

25 = 28%

26 = 34%

27 = 41%

28 = 48%

29 = 55%

30 = 63%

31 = 71%

I picked this range because if you have less then 17% wit perhaps you shouldn't be resurrecting people. And 31 is the max because thats what an Elven Elder with +5 wit and Blue Wolf should have.

You should now be able to calculate what ever your res % is. However just to make things easy, I will now list the res levels and what wit you need for max. I will also list the wit below it if its within % or so of the max.

Level 1 res, 0% back. Wit does not matter here.

Level 2 res, 20% back. 35 wit needed to get a 40% res, but this is impossible.

Level 3 res, 30% back. 31 wit needed to get a 50% res.
30 wit will get you a 48.9% res.

Level 4 res, 40% back. 29 wit needed to get a 60% res.
28 wit will give a 59.2% res

Level 5 res, 50% back. 27 wit needed to get a 70% res.

Level 6 res, 55% back. 27 wit needed to get a 75% res.

Level 7 res, 60% back. 26 wit needed to get a 80% res.

Level 8 res, 65% back. 26 wit needed to get a 85% res.

Level 9 res, 70% back. 26 wit needed to get a 90% res.
25 wit will give a 89.6% res
just a note this is not a slam at bishops its to inform people who costatly only demand a bishop res when an EE can do a better job.
there's no need to copy/paste it from Player Guide section
How can an EE do a better job at rezing when their last resurection skill at 74 is a 60% Base rez?
When a Bishops at 74 is a 70% base....

My Bishop would have a 90% rez with 27 WIT and the EE would only have 80% with 27 WIT...
So explain to me how this information says Bishop rez is not the best? Bishop = lvl 9 res, EE = lvl 7 res. So.. the EEs added wit doesn't mean ****.

So yea, unless you count sir Brodel with a blessed scroll of ressurection, a bishop has the best res; this is not news.

And instead of all that math... death = -4%, post bishop res -.4%

.4/4 = .1 = 10%

100%-10% = 90% thx

death = -4%, post EE res > .4%

therefore bishop res> ee res

I've never heard anyone say 98% - and if I didn't hear it, it never happend. So quit lying.

Oh and by the way, noone cares. I'm only responding cuz im a *******.

Granted that a Bishop res vs. a EE res that have:
- Same lvl
- Same equip (WIT bonus from eqip)
- With same tatoos
- And assuming EE basic res % is the same as the bishop at same lvl
The EE's res is gona even so slighty higher...

HOWEVER, by the time you get to higher lvls when people actually GIVE A DARN about that extra % they might get most bishops already have their max 20% max bonus to their basic res... and once youve got that maxed out, the extra wit of a EE means [censored]
In an effort not to add to the confusion.

Elven elders only get Rez level 7 which ====== 60%
Bishops get Rez level 9 which ======= 70%

+20% WIT-rez bonus which holds true for both classes

Giving a level 74-78 Elven Elder a 80% rez
Giving a level 74-78 Bishop a 90% rez

Case closed.

just a note this is not a slam at bishops its to inform people who costatly only demand a bishop res when an EE can do a better job.

It was that Special Gorilla Math that he was using......
The reason EE rez is better is because of their base WIT value, WIT affects the ressurection percent.

Above all this nonsense...

80% rez of 4% loss = 3.2% gain
90% rez of 4% loss = 3.6% gain

To me... I can get .4% faster than any EE or bishop can get to my dead body, I'll take any rez I'm in party with as long as the party keeps going.
1. You don't need 27 wit for max rez at skill level 9 on a bishop. 26 is sufficient.
2. Who gives a **** on who is rezzing you? Take the EE or Bishop rez (whoever is closest) people and be happy you aren't playing either one of these unwanted classes.
3. Do something nice for your rezzers, and they might just not mind coming back. (parties, pay for port costs)
Can someone please explain how an EE rez is better when WIT can only alter rez by +20% and a bishop's max rez is already capped +10% higher than an EE? Cause I don't get it.
Cecella shall answer your call! :cool:

But an ee can get 31 wit thats how
EE Rez 60% + 20% = 80%
Bish Rez 70% + 20% = 90%

Quick math lesson for all you kiddies out there :). 90% > 80%.
Ok, rez % increase is capped at 20%. EE's will NEVER have a better rez than a bishop comparably equipped. SO we can end this debate now thank you very much.

Minus Contessa and SirHomer, they understand the workings of the mysterious healer type folk.

56 Elven Elder
Forgetting To Heal since the 1980's
tbh...

What kind of player would bring up a thread on how much XP they get back from a Rez -.-?

Its just XP, come on now :(

But an ee can get 31 wit thats how

There is a cap (20% max) to the bonus exp WIT can give. Basically, 31 WIT gives the same exp bonus that 331 WIT would give. The most an EE can give is 80% due to this limitation and the fact that they only get lvl 7 rez (60%). Bishops get lvl 9 rez (70%) therefore they can increase their rez to 90% by increasing their WIT. Bishops have the highest level rez in the game.
67 bishop rez +8 wit on a 4% death penalty gave back 3.5% = 87.5% rez

That's what was calculated last night. I'm not going to bother with all the formula calculations, because actually calculating (not based on formulas, but the spell in the game) the hard data gave me that. There could always be a flaw with a formula due to ignorance or something, but by testing that in the game off a player death and checking how much % is restored and finding what % of 4% that is, that's how I came to that conclusion.

/fin

67 bishop rez +8 wit on a 4% death penalty gave back 3.5% = 87.5% rez

Yep, last time I tested with a friend i got the same result.
bishops really take this [censored] seriously lol :D

Great an EE could have a 100 WIT but the MAX bonus to rez is 20%....

Do you ride the Short Bus to School?

bishops really take this [censored] seriously lol :D

LOL its the only thing my bishop is good for!
That and heal of course...
My Destroyer gives better reverse resurection than a bishop or an EE and I don't even need a wit tat. :D

BTW don't you hate it when you do the math, get angry about the results, and then post a huge thread only to find out later you were mistaken? I've done it... I think.. maybe in another game long ago. Yeah I am just trying to make him feel better.

Unwanted classes?
Gokushiho and Finfish are more than wanted trust me!!
And not only for pvp, but exp parties too :eek:

I agree on taking the rez of whoever is closer or free at the moment, it's always great to get either 80 or 90% exp back :D
I agree also on being nice, in the end theyr'e doing you a favour... ;)
I question the validity of this alleged "20% cap" because I've gone over it. My base rez is 60%, and with +8 WIT I've restored 87.5% of lost exp. 87.5% - 60% = 27.5% > 20%. I'm making these calculations from the game, not a formula. The hard fact of this matter, according to my experience in the game, is that the 20% cap doesn't exist since I cleared it by 7%+. Thus, according to the formula, with the 20% cap non-existant, my rez (at lvl 74, base 70%) would be 103%+, which I'm sure the devs did not intend.

So, all I can say is do an in-game test and calculate your rez for yourself, because that is the most reliable way to see what it actually is, rather than relying on a formula which in itself seems to have problems.

EDIT: I calculaed how much % was lost by checking how much % was restored after taking a PVE 4% death. I casted the rez spell and checked the second screen and it went up 3.5% from what it was while dead on the floor. Thus, 3.5%/4.0% x 100 = 87.5%
You died to a mob!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!??!??!?!?!? :eek:

hohohohohohohohoho!

You died to a mob!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!??!??!?!?!? :eek:

I know it's a difficult concept to fathom, but bear with me - friend of mine died while AoE'ing a cata and I rez'd him and tested the % return while I was at it.

[censored] people should not die :(
I am a PvE God.

That is all.

I am a PvE God.

That is all.

it's simple. at lower levels, the EE will have a better rez, simply because they will have more wit than the bishop does. However, once the bishop gets rez lvl 8 or 9 their rez is better than the EE's because the bishop's base rez is higher and they will both have the +20% bonus applied.
