No matter what question I ask I always get an automated message that says ether "we will look into it, or "please contact support by email". Last time I got a message that looked like it was actually typed by a live human through ether in game system or through email was months ago.
Where are all the live GM?
Also if you check /gmlist, you NEVER NEVER see a single GM on anymore.
Even the prewritten answers are given to you by a real human, not by some robot.
Why do you want to "talk" to a GM ? They are not supposed to spend their time chatting, they are supposed to do their work.
It is hard for me to understand, how so many people can complain about the GM not doing their job, when on the other hand, the same people complain, that the GM do not spend enough time with the individual petititons.
If the prewritten answer is the best answer, that a GM can give, then why would they have to chat with you about it ?
If a prewritten answer covers the petition and can be reused as copy within 2 seconds, while a handwritten answer would be 2 Minutes, then why would we want a handwritten answer, if the meaning would stay the same ?
If you petition something, that is not one of the standard petitions, that the GM will get 15000 times per day, then you get an individual answer.
The thing is that the pre-written answers are very frequently totally inappropriate to the question.
On the up side - whenver I've had the urge to have a longer conversation, I always managed to get an open petition window by enclosing a simple "please don't close this straight away".
If you petition about "automated players" your sure going to get that same response every time. Dont expect a GM to chit chat with you about that.
My friend petitioned a few times about other things like bugs and people force logging and he did manage to talk to a real person. The GM was actually making jokes too! So it really depends on what your petitioning for and if talking to a GM is going to make a difference.
Right, the majority of mine are auto closed with a prewritten response but the few times I thought I lost something I got a real response. I can see the auto response to a bot issue but a few others I've had really needed a little more explaining.
Why did I want to talk to a GM? Well in my case it was because this guy (who is an enemy) put my name into walker, so he would log out when I would come near because I killed him too much. But despite that I still managed to wipe out his party. So his walker released him to town, he is obviously afk, and now the walker keeps logging him out and logging him back in because im in town standing next to him. It was quite hilarious, really, a lot of people saw it, and a fair number reported it. It was so obvious. He would log out, then 5sec later log back in, then log out in split second again. Then try to log back in 5sec later only to log out again.
Now if I was able to contact a gm, and get him to come witness it, the problem would be taken care of right then and there. But all I got are automated responces, even when I tried to gm quuestions about a quest, which usually always brought a live person up.
But the bigger isuue is: Why is there no live support anymore? Before we could get a live person on the other end of the /gm. Granted they were indian and stupid and didnt know much about the game, but it was still better than the automated responces. The price of my monthly subscription didnt go down, so why the removal of live GMs?
Once again:
The answers are not automated. They are prewritten. That is not the same.
An automated answer would be triggered by keywords of your petition, while a prewritten answer is copied by the life GM that you desire, just to safe time.
In your special case, you hopefully petitioned with a text similar to "player xyz is using a third party tool to automatically log out and back in, and is now relogging every 5 seconds in town dion."
If you wrote anything like this, the reasonable actions of a GM would be to give you the (prewritten) answer, that they will investigate it and either investigate it themselves or put the name in question on the "to test"-list for some GM, who is not doing anything else.
Either way, it would not be necessary to talk to you. If they had the time to chat with you, they could at the same time already stand invisible next to you and watch the suspected bots behaviour and take action.
The petition system is not meant to be a crisis line for players to have a caring human being to chat with so that they do not commit virtual suicide.
