Well, after getting a dwarf to lv20 and becomeing a scavanger I read about how bad they are. So I decided to reroll a dwarf and become an artisan instead. But I also want to roll a human mystic and become a necromancer. So my question is; what is the better choice? Which class will be more desirable in groups? Which one will be more fun to play? And which one will do best in PvP?
Also im a little confused about the subclass system thing. So after lvl75 you can change to another class or something like that?
You can have up to seven characters on each server. There is a reason for this. Do not think you should have only one character.
You are positioned quite well at the moment. You need dwarves to make money so you can equip other characters. At level 20, a scavenger is a great money-making machine. Have that chacter spoil and seed mobs that give the materials that are most in demand on your server. You can spoil for one and seed for another.
A level 20 scavy can spoil animal bones from the Crystaline Beasts in the Spider's Nest, from the Scavenger Wererat in the Neutral Zone, the Ratman Warrior in the Ruins Bend (this is a vague area, and there are more of these around than you think,) and the Liren Elder in the Elvish Lands (magic range attack.)
For seeds, you can still use Red Coda to get varnish, and after level 23, Desert Coda for Coal.
Get a ton of these mats and sell them. While you are spoiling and seeding mobs, you will get other stuff spoiling off them as well. These things can be sold (to the NPC or players.)
At night, your scavy can set a sell shop, or can set a craft shop. Scavys 'only' have level one dwarven craft, but it is a money-maker. Many of the basic mats are level one crafts, and folks making high level items still need tons of low-level mats. Get some level one recipes, and put them in your book; Cokes, steel, braided hemp, coarse bone powder, and leather are all good ones. You don't make a lot overnight, but it is free adena.
You Artisan Dwarf will start to make money after level 20 when they first become able to craft shots. Folks say there is no money in shots, but what they mean is you only make 1 or 2 adena per shot. When someone buys 12,000 of your shots, you make 12k to 24k. At level 36 you can craft C grade shots, and the top-D set items. These make a lot of money, although finding the materials is the hard part.
In summary, you need your dwarves to make adena for your other toons. Don't delete your dwarves!
keep the dwarves but make necro your main you wont regret it
dont lvl the artisan past 20 and dont craft shots
the guy is right you can make 1-2 adena profit per shot and when you sell 10k of them that may seem like alot, but keep in mind dwarves have some of the slowest mp regen in game and it takes hours just to make that many
a scav is the best low lvl money maker in game
just step outside dion, spoil some bones and go to giran and sell em
not much point lvling either dwarf past 30ish unless you plan on getting the scav to 76 or the ws to 62/70 (for high lvl crafts and spoils)
either way anything a dwarf can do a necro can do just as well or better
