What is the forcelog function for?

Why is forcelog able to log a character out immediately and not leave them in the game during combat mode as opposed to when you try to logout normally while in combat mode?

The less legit players now have every single protection provided to them as they can auto-log if someone appears on their radar therefore basically nullifying clan wars, or you are now protected from being trained. I just don't get what NC is thinking on their end. I'm sure it has to do with security but at what cost does it affect the gameplay?
My guess it's just lazy coding (programmers are lazy) and not a conscious decision.
Considering the way the client is coded in the first place, its very very poor at dealing with log outs, disconnects, relogs, lost packets, etc.

The solution to majority of problems people have with L2 conectionwise (lost connections, problems relogging, forcelogs, poor conncetions, etc.) has all been solved in other MMORPGs, L2 just hasn't woken up and smelled the coffee.

Thats why the current connection issues L2 is having is 40% the routers fault and 50% NCSoft Korea fault and 10% NCSoft NA fault.
Yeah it's just laziness or rather, an oversight... foreclog does nothing to cut the line or log out the character in question, what happens is the same account is being logged in again (legatily somewhere else for instance if you have your shop up over a weekend and then want to play some while your away on the other side of the planet)... a delay should be implemented.
Other MMORPGs already have such systems, L2 doesn't.

Also, its a really silly oversight that when the client disconnects, it closes down the whole client, instead of simply returning you to the login screen. Thats probably whats causing more deaths than anything else during the disconnects happening lately, because by the time people get their client back up (excluding Gameguard loading errors), your character would usually be dead.

Also, its a serious oversight that the client doesn't allow relogin or close when the client has communication problems, you have to go to taskmanager and kill L2 to do it, then reload (and then see problem 1).

Also it seems like L2 is not all that good at handling packet losses either, and its very temperamental when that happens, other MMORPG clients are way better and faster at handling it and recovering from it.
Yes! I hate force logging.... I am always hitting bots and then they force log.... I remember a bit back, when I get in their range, they automatically force log... Make them stay in game for a bit longer if in combat or something...
