Dagnabbit, I'll never get my main to 78 at this rate.
I rolled a new toon and trying to decide on a class. (TH/HE/Gladiator) lvl 17 now. How are Treasure Hunters Faire in PvE? Must they use Viscious Stance all(most) of the time or the 3 passive crit skills they have gives them enough damage to not really need VS?
I'm thinking about making a TH alt myself, so I'd be curious about this aswell. As far as VS goes, I doubt it's absolutely necessary, but combined with DW and that BD dance you'd do some fairly sick damage.
you dont need VS all the time, you need VS for specials (difference is really noticable). You have SR already, rolling another archer seems 'weird' to me.
TH does quite decent in PvE -- actually TH is real fun class to play (can make not-so shabby-money as well), except it's horribly dependant on buffs.

THs are daggers..
Probably said that because the OP said he was thinking about makeing a TH, Glad, or HE

Surprise, surprise I play one, but yes - read the original post.
Btw, VS doesnt shine if you are fully buffed on normla ciricals (specials, like i said, work different).
First off, if you want to own in pvp, don't roll melee, period. Make a nuker or an archer.
In large scale pvp, the best bet of a TH is using a bow. Despite limited masteries, their passive help their damage output. They are limited by being slow as heck, so kiting is hard. However, you have high enough CON to take damage on the run.
Close quarters pvp can be fun but frustrating. Weak to m atk and slept/rooted easily, but able to hurt robe wearers otherwise distracted. Being able to silent move and train is great for griefing.
Oh and lots love for THs coming in c5. Check out some of the upcoming skills for THs =)
I find them a lot of fun for PVE. I rolled mine after my EE and PS and its satisfying to see the damage stack up as I duo'd with an SK. I was usually fully buffed, leaving on VS, and avoiding specials.
I don't think I'll be PvPing on the TH very much, and I already have an A grade archer for PvP. Still though, making another archer (HE or PR) is intriguing, but only the C grade is making me think twice about making another archer.
The TH will be used mainly for PvE and Training. I do love Fake Death. Silent Move, I never had experience with such a skill, but sounds like fun. How reliable is it? or is it just like Fake Death where there's a good chance it'll fail and you'll aggro?
as long as you have mana no mob will aggro on you. (provided it didnt't spot before hand).
One notable exception: forest of the dead in the nightnight (just midnight) w/ raising skletons there is a bug... to which NCSoft replied: our QA team will investigate.
Silet move allows you to join groups in ToI, deep in the lair, ketras, all those scary areas you need a group to pass by. Also good if you have to brez, you may need to use veil as well, good for checking RBs, etc...

Ah sorry, my bad. I got confused because we were mostly talking about THs. >.<
if you aggro when you FD you should try putting silent move on right before you FD. then stand up and move out of the mobs' range asap. or use FD on another toon that is attacking a mob of a similiar type. if you are partied though the mob will most likely attack your other members when you FD. i play PW and i it is good to get a bow cuz you have a higher crit rate than an archer, even without all the bow masteries, PLUS you get stun shot 3 i think at lvl 35 so it's good to keep a bow with you in case you need to close in on a ranged fighter or just stun bots that you trained.
