"Pet Manager Rood is developing a new pet. His target is Lienrik living in the Field of Whispers. But who will bring the eggs of Lienrik for him to hatch...?"
I'm currently doing this quest and the pet manager says that he will give me a Lienrik pet if he succeeds to hatch one from the eggs i collected for him. Is it true? Somehow i don't believe that. Did anyone of you ever obtain a Lienrik pet? If yes how many eggs will i need to collect until the pet manager succeeds to hatch one? Also.. how useful is the pet?
Having a Lierik as a pet would rock so much! Stupid misleading quest!
But I just got a baby bird pet yesterday to keep me occupied :)
(If people would just not train it. Passive pet hate is the worst idea ever).
Passive aggro? Mobs actively HATE pets. (Another 'improvement' made in C3...)
It may be fine for summoners who want their servitors to keep aggro...but it's a death knell for just about every other pet.
I can deal with that though...or at least It should be possible....except that wasn't enough for NCsoft...they had to go out of their way to make it so that the instant a mob uses a spell or skill that it automatically switches targets semi-randomly....which 90% of the time is TA-DA! the PET.
Which even then wouldn't be so bad....except pets have almost no pdef or mdef much less HP. And in the case of the baby pets, they have all the defense of a piece of wet toilet paper. The only mob that they can handle is the elpy...and thats an even fight!
That's what Champa is referring to - passive not in so far as the mobs, but the servitor/pets.
It's a huge inconvenience with pets... but do you know what it does to a summoner in terms of train defense? Mobs are already adjusted in a way so that they won't aggro a player who's holding still when just trained onto him/her normally. But for a summoner? No chance. If you jump room in the rift, you usually have time to wait for everything to load and look around before you do anything rash. Have a summoner? Either he or she unsummons when it starts quaking, or things will be all over the servitor.
And the worst: Opponents intentionally running into/by aggro mobs in open field PVP, with obvious consequences.
