dont useually get to see many raid bosses but since lately i've been focusing on them this is what ive seen

i seen a lvl 45 necro tank a lvl 50 raid boss

i seen a lvl 73 raid boss with minions killed with a bd as tank

i seen a tyrant pull hate from the tank and continue to successfully tank a raid boss

i seen the highest lvl boss in game killed with 1 party while being buffed and healed by a bishop

so what exactly is the point of raid bosses?
Loot and XP?

LoL tomorrow morning every farmer crew will have a bishop and will be doing raid bosses by the weekend. Err maybe by Tuesday.
Highest lvl raid boss? Is that Antharas?!

no. that would be valakas.

thats how i know hes full of baloney. multiple alliances must take him out. not 1 ****y little bishop-led group.

True. You need a level 58 Gladiator (detect dragon weakness).
I solo'ed Valakas and all I got was a lousy t-shirt.
Valakas is not a nice raid boss, but ... otherwise fine thinking.

I still don't believe a necro tanking a level 50 boss, they hit hard.

maybe with full prophet buffs and +5 armor set and TP on with sumon out, i might believe that.

actually my little lvl 31 nuker tanked a lvl 30 raid boss (good thing 2 SO with me, or dead).

so its probably not that far off.
TP level 2 is a sad, sad joke.

So no.
RBs are there to one shot us nukers once we call aggro.

That is all.

valakas and antharas are both not raid bosses
the highest lvl bosses in game are in orc/silenos barracks as far as i know

a necro can easily tank a lvl 50 raid boss with (lame apparently) tp and vamp claw

still dont get the point
short of your tank and healers being ganked while someone heals the raid boss does anyone fail at raids anymore?
Yes. If we fail to gather enough nukers of appropriate level. Then running out of mana can happen and boss starts regenerating faster then we can damage him.
But this is quite rare. Usually you have a general idea how much firepower is needed and just cancel raid if unable to gather such force.

But anyway, I did a number of raids and I really wonder if they are even worth it anymore (apart from the rare chance of A helmets, maybe some other A or S stuff dropping and of course crystal levelling - but those are not easy to raid).
I mean I can't really count how many I've seen slain (up to 8 raids in succesion, one after another) and I've seen what? Maybe 2 full drops. Nothing impressive too - like some gaiters or something.
Makes me sad I wasn't able to raid much back in Ch3.
Highest lvl Raidboss is Ember he is in the forge..

actually my buddies killed him yesterday
not sure how many ppl they had though, no point silent walking a dwarf through forge of the gods for a raid :P
TP level 2 for tanking an RB? I'd totally love to see that - cos if it's true, we can save ourselves the whole healer/tank mess for our baby RB group, but I've a feeling like it isn't true.

By the way, do necros get HMG?

yeah equal lvl to sps/sorc/sh as far as i know
give the tanking a try
it wont work for ever cause vamp claw kills alot of mp but its definately doable

The whole raid boss system is a joke.

Let me break it down for you.

2 parties can kill any raid boss, including Lilith and Anakim.

All you need is a tank, 2 bishops, a couple rechargers in one party.

The second party of all mages and a BD.

That's it. With those two groups you can kill any raid boss. The catch is that it's best if the nukers are within 5 to 8 levels of the boss, and they need to be properly equipped for thier level.

If your mages are more than a few lvls below the RB, bring more rechargers to recharge them and the tank.
Raidbosses should have more resistance to hate from the tank, or summon minions that take care of the nukers ^^

At least then RB would be a challenge again.

i remember when it took 4 groups of lvl 26 anythings to take down a lvl 21 boss. and even then the minions respawned like mad, and half the people died trying.
Our little 20-30 alt clan ran 3 raids last night. We had one healer and one real tank but were a bit "nuker light. We took 3 easy and one we couldn't bring down so we skated (no one died though). For that one (can't remember his name in Partisans) we just couldn't hit the boss hard enough after taking down the 4 minions.
Sure raids at all levels still fail--generally I'm beginning to think because of party composition.
Up the lvl 40's i've been on--tank at raid boss level, good healer at raid boss level, 4 nukers and darned near anything as last 3 dd's can take them down.

Maybe players are just getting better?! We take reduced groups of toons to low bosses now that at the beginning of our play in L2 wiped out our whole party. We know how to play our characters better, most of us choose skills and their application better, we've learned 'tricks' and 'techniques' that give us advantages--maybe some of these groups doing well have just gotten really good at the game.....

.....erm......which would answer the question "what's the point of a raidbosses" I believe.
Raid Bosses are weaker ... completely nerfed for the most part. I've been tanking them since C2. This last chronical took the challenge completely out... for the most part. There ARE a few that are still respectably difficult for their level. That darned tiger at the waterfalls is harder than any other boss near his level. We'll skip him unless we have a really powerful group, and go wipe 4 or 5 more out that are 5 to 10 levels higher than him without a problem. There are some bosses 8 levels higher than me I'll tank without breaking sweat. The tiger ... well, I'm higher than him and he hits HARD. Way uneven.

IMO, players haven't gotten better. In fact, the typical raid boss groups I've seen wandering about today would have gotten splattered across the fields of Aden last chronical. The bosses are just horribly nerfed. And unevenly nerfed at that.
