Death SPike

Hi guys,
I m wondering if some of you could explain me how Death SPike works.. why would I decide to use that as opposed to (for example) Shadow Flare?
Given the cost of cursed bones, when is better suited for use?
I have tried it a couple of times but given the damage it deals, I cant understand whats the good point of it :)
Also.. does the damage you inflict with that, depend on some other stat?

i beleave death spike is cheap mp wise
also i think its a dark attack so if you were fighting a wind resist mob that would be the better bet

Yeah, the MP cost is about half of a normal nuke, if I recall correctly.
So if you can afford the adena, using:
B2M-Vamp.Claw-DeathSpike-B2M-B2M-Vamp.Claw-DeathSpike-B2M-B2M
Will allow you to two-shot mobs forever, even without buffs or recharges.

inject a curse:gloom in there and another b2m, and you can kill blood red 4x hp mobs in no time.

Unless of course you are a SH, not a Necro. Duh. ^^

Deathspike can also be good in raids and even Castle sieges as they let you do your thing longer.

I'm not sure I would use it for grinding as I like the idea of getting a good profit per kill.

Oh, just have the cursed bones in your inventory (you asked how it works)

Unless they've changed it, there is an easy repeatable quest you can get that gives Cursed Bones as a reward.

One starts inside ivory tower (61+?) and u have to craft them or something... the other starts in Hadins and u hunt mobs under it (40-48) for nebulite ore... can can gamble with it and make 10 into 10k ore if u are ultra lucky... but you can use the nebulite ore to buy cursed bones.

Its also a very fast cast and cooldown timer.

The big problem with Death Spike is that its "downside" has become mostly irrelevant in todays L2 world where adena is plentiful for PvP'ers, thats why its now such an overpowered spell.

I realise that this probably isn't relevant to you just yet, but dark vortex and death spike work great together. Dark vortex works like a surrender to dark attack.

you can actually spam it in pve and still turn a profit at higher lvls
