hello im new to this game so im lvl 19 human fighter now and have to do a big desicion now? What job...so i checked all the skills and types of the jobs and i think im goin for gladiator, but after i talk some ppl the most told me glad not good, so im here to take ur advice?
are glads really so bad? what good / what bad?
can i find partys with glad?
can i kill something in pvp with a glad?
1: They are bad compared to some, but better than others.
1a: Good: High damage, great skills.
1b: Bad: Low magic defense, slow run speed, cannot stun with dual swords (have to switch to blunt)
2: NO lol. Unless your in a clan or with friends, then yes. Otherwise hell no, I hear people scream GLAD LFG for hours, but it's not as bad as other melee characters.
3: No to range (though it might work if you use blunt/shield) and nuker. Yes to other melee and support classes as long as you know what your doing and have the right setup.
big thx for this fast answers, but what u mean with "right setup"?
Right setup:
1: When fighting another melee class, you need damage setup or health setup.
2: When fighting an archer type class you need shield/blunt along with speed setup (armor that gives you ++speed, and +dex dye)
3: When fighting a nuker type class you need to pray and hmm get a health, speed, and damage setup :D (not possible :p). But you still have a chance if you surprize them.
Obviously you can't do all of them or any other at once. But you can switch depending on the situation.
That duo will be awesome, especially in C5. High damage glad who can act as tank and damage dealer and a bishop to keep nukers in check and heal the gladiator. Go for it!
what exactly makes a gladiator more worst than a DA for example? only that u cant catch up a nuker / archer? and what are the bad points in raid bosses with a glad. please explain.
don't go glad or u will be back in 6 weeks and cry, "NERF NUKERS/ARCHERS!" Every glad in the game has made that post.
I feel unique!

Well, as a melee, you're generally just screwed. DAs have an awesome panther pet though which is quite nice, or so I've heard. Oh, and DAs also have better m.def.
I havent played a Glad before, but just yesterday I started up a Human Fighter who is going to be a Glad.
I think the dual-sword, triple-slash, high crit, etc. stuff as the Glad has looks really gerat.
So we are 3 persons who started up Human Fighters yesterday, one Glad-wannabe, one Warlord-wannabe and a Hawkeye-wannabe.
We are going to lvl these 3 chars simultaniously, just for fun, because we already has our high-lvl mains setup.
And the best part..... lvl'ing is fast when I bring in by 2box to support our little 3xhuman party, especially when its a LVL59 PP + lvl58 SE OOP buffer :)
We played like 1,5-2 hour yesterday, incl. teleports, etc. and we got to lvl15... so thats quite nice.
Ofcause we DO have top NG stuff and dident use time on picking up loot :)
We actually made a shout "Come to west side of Elven Ruine and get free adena" and suddenly we had like 5-6 "bustboys" running around and picking up free loot :)
Gladis are welcome in partys cause they are good DDs for pve, they have decend P.def and not less HP. They are made for pve groups. (As long as it's not a nuker party, OMG everybody is playing a nuker :( )
Their make an big amount of dmg in a short time in melee fights, means they can hit very hard. In pvp they are food for nukers all the time (and everybody is playing nuker as sub :( )
In pvp they kinda sucks until you hit lvl 78 when you get your best skills LOL I realy can't understand that stupidiness why Nukers are top all the time and melees first have to hit LvL 76+ and wearing S grade :)
So from playstil: many say they suck and they do in pvp realy, but they are very good for melee DD partys. They are mid expensive cause you have to use SS all the time. I think a balanced tatoos will help also.
That's what I know, hope it helps.
With good Duals, Armor and Dyes and with a prophet and VR buff they can solo easy up to 76 :)
2: NO lol. Unless your in a clan or with friends, then yes. Otherwise hell no, I hear people scream GLAD LFG for hours, but it's not as bad as other melee characters.
Sorry but this is rubbish (on Bartz at least). I've played a glad up to lvl 73, and never had any problems getting groups - sometimes clan parties but more often than not using the party room matching system (I've never found running round town yelling much use, lol).
Glads are useful as a stand-in tank/targeter, do good damage (in a melee or mixed melee/archer or nuker group) and I have hardly ever had trouble finding TOI, DN or other parties to join.
The two frustrating things about glads is that you really can't solo one past about lvl 60 (unless you have a boxed SE in tow, perhaps) and they really aren't that good in pvp until they get past about lvl 65.
Since topping lvl 70 pvp has got better and better - and I can't wait for Sonic Rage :D
Hunt out the fraps/ss of VietKnight (glad hero on Bartz) if you don't believe me.
thank u guys for this info too, now im go for glad, maybe not the uber char in pvp but i like dual wielding fightning so i think Glad the best class for me. many thanks. its right that the best way to get up lvl 20-40 is to use a pole? some ppl told me that? and warrior got pole skills i think they are helpfull too.
I'm now in lvl19 and are doing the class change quest.
As soon as I hit lvl20, I will equip my Human Warrior with top D-grade(Brig.set) and a Claive+3 and a ELS+3.
Then I'm goint to smack up the cats. using my lvl59 Battle-prophet in BW-set as a puller :)
Also the other guy in our little 3xHuman party is going for the Glaive, so We are 2xAOE and lvl'ing should be no problem :)
Then again, not everybody is lucky enough to have there personal high lvl puller, buffer, healer to assist in lvling, so I usually buff all the low-lvl's I can afford, MP vice, for my buff-box :)
