Well I am back playing my spellhowler after many months on "vacation" [OMG I'm talking about taking a vacation from a game]. I still have a long, long grind to 75 but hope to make it by the end of the July 4 holidays. I'm looking for help with subclass options. My main goal is to have fun with the subclass - I will not likely play long enough to get a noblesse.
First, I have some basic questions on subclasses:
1> I seem to recall a post saying that you could pick a subclass, play it for a bit, and if you hate it switch to a different subclass. Can anyone confirm this? Does it require some ridiculous additional quest or some such nonsense?
2> How are tattoos handled with the main class and subclass? Let's say I use tattoo set A with my main. When I switch to the sub I'm assuming the sub has no tattoos. So I put tattoo set B on the sub. When I switch back to main do I still have tattoo set A or nothing?
3> Do you still have to give up a top B grade weapon to finish the sub quest? If so, do you still get a low A weapon when you finish the quest?
OK, now on to the subclasses. I have a 6x SE available for OOP buffs so that will influence the type of subclass I pick. I have all the right gear for a nuker and the only nuker I can switch to is necromancer which, unfortunately, is the FOTD. But they do look fun so I am considering that. I love playing my dwarves with polearm and I have top B heavy armor and polearm setup already so I've been thinking about trying a Destroyer. And, lastly, I like playing an Orc Shaman so have thought some about subbing Warcryer. One concern I had about the Destroyer is whether they are just too slow to engage in open PvP.
So, here is the list I've come up with: Necromancer, Destroyer, Warcryer. I'm curious if I'm missing something that would be fun to play. What about a pure summoner, archer, dagger, BD, tank? Are they FUN? Do they fit well with an OOP SE? Most of the time I play PvE but I will probably try more PvP with the sub.
