Hi, my husband and myself played Lineage 2 when it was in beta a few years ago, but only for a short time before we had to move and could no longer get high speed internet where we moved to. Well.. thanfully we moved again, lol. We just bought a new house and can now have high speed again. It was tough going from high speed to dial up, but we managed. Now we are very happy tp be playing again. But so much has changed that were a bit lost. We are playing on your server due to reading on these boards that you are nice people :). We also read that the costs on this server are a bit higher.. But we dont mind hard work, so thats no problem for us. Our problem is not really knowing if we chose the right characters and learning all there is to learn (which is a vast mountain of info)lol. We chose to be light elves and i chose to be a mystic while my husband chose a fighter. We have no idea what classes we want to gain to yet, but we are researching. My husband whats to be a strong fighter, but he also likes the magic aspect as well. Me... well... i just LOVE anything to do with magic. I want to be a healer, but i also love the option to gain an animal somwhere down the line and i love working with elements. We have gained to 9th lvl so far, but havnt done any quests yet. We have just been fighting and trying to gain some xp and sp and adina. We do plan to create a dark elven couple as well because we are facsinated by thier aspects as we are with the light elves. And i have read that having another coupl to play is good due to needing a break from one character to play another. I also read that having another character can help you gain adena. Can anyone tell me more of the the bebfits of having another character? Any advice would be highly valued. Also if there are any other newbie couples or even solos that would like to share the learning experience and maybe even fight together, we would love to join party with you every now and again. We look forward to making friends on this server and kicking some mob deriere. And again.. any advice would be well appriciated on any subject.. we have so much to learn. By the way for those wanting to learn an play with us on occasion, my character name is Aradianna. Also we play late nights a lot because we both work nights and sleep during the day. I suspect that is going to make a bit harder to make friends, lol, but we still plan to try. Thanks so much for reading and any advice submitted!
And a good strong fighter that uses alot of magic is a SHinlin Knight, but they dont deal much damage. If your husband wants to walk the road of a BladeDancer, well they deal a lot of damage, but are not so good defensivly
A Abyss Walker deals massive amounts of damage, but is very low in defence, and in health.
For you im thinking that a Shinlen Elder or a Phantom Summoner would be the ideal choice. The Shinlen Elder is a healer type class, but has exellent buffs for both melee and Magical classes. If your husband goes fighter class and you go Shinlen Elder, you will be able to duo with each other untill 60+ :).
if you go Summoner however, that wont be the case, but its whatever you prefer.

Hi, thanks for the advice. Im leaning toward the Shinlen Elder. But our names are Aradianna and Spydar7575. My husband still hasnt really figured out what he wants to specialize in yet, but he will eventually. We have made it to 12 with the playing we did today, so we are doing ok so far. I dont care much for the ganging up from the kaboo mod clan, lol. But they seem good to lvl up on... Anyway, we will be on again in the early morn tomarrow. Thanks again :)
Had u been on Gustin my husband and I would have paired up with u as we play alot of late nights and we are new to the game and learning as well. We are having the same problem that u are with classes.. We both took casters though instead of caster and fighter. I have always played healer in all the mmopg games but don't know how well that would work with him being a caster also..If u ever move to our server look me up I'm Tyallie..best wishes

We plan to alternate, but we will be playing the ones on this server more often. But as you know, the servers are quite lonely in the early morn... Our second set of characters we will both be mystics. My husband will then get his chance to explore his growing love of magic. I have no desire to combat fight at all.. so we will both have to be mystics, lol. Up to 20 you'll be fighting as nukers, then one should choose oracle and the ohher wizard, they work VERY well together, not to mention they can level pretty fast. Take your time, try not to spend too much money, get weapon first, armor later. IMO Devotion set will last you along time, up to 40 even, work on getting better weapon for the wizard/nuker first. Healers aren't dependant on weapons.

Also I am struggling to learn the manor system as many seem to make adena doing this. I just CAN'T play a fighter I am not the melee type and I love magic. Healing comes natural to me I made a decent name for myself on WoW playing a night elf priest btw if u ever play again I'm Jazmine on Silvermoon (most know me there). I would love to play a Bladedancer however like I said I'm not a melee person but I love the sounds of it not sure if it would be good just as a duo though. Can't say enough about many lionna players. I only started in January of this year and have met dozens of really great folks! (none that play for invincible/chaos but that's another story...lol).
The server is full of folks, clans, alliances, rp'ers...and many willing to assist newer people--or returning people.
My clan plays almost exclusive evenings and I play every night (est) about 9-12mn.

Would be glad to give you a hand if i'm able.
As for char's...play what you like. I have DA, WS, DE, Orc Mystic, DE mystic, scavy....each is fun and challenging (though i'm probably a dwarf at heart).

Thanks so much for the advice! I was lucky enough to already have the devotion set at lvl 14 (which is where we both are at the moment) thanks to a friendly person sharing thiers after they didnt need it, instead of selling it. Thanks again! (you know who you are). And i noticed i got a lot of bonuses when i put the set on :). I also was given a Journeymans staff. (also thanks again). I am not sure what comes next after both of those upgrades, but im sure it will be a while before i can afford them, lol. I seem to be meeting the right people during play hours. My husband was given a sword by a nice gentlemam helping us fight spiders to gain lvls faster (thanks man :)). Im not sure what its called, but its nice. We are very much looking forward to 20th lvl. And since we are able to play several hours at a time we will get there soon. My husband has the next three days off , as do I, so we will be power playing. Thanks again for the advice, i will look into the Oracle/wizard combo.

Well, ive noticed the caster is more powerful as well, and i like the fact i can cast, then run a bit, then cast again and not even get close to the baddies. But i dont like the fact it takes longer to lvl up and gain sp. But i guess thats a decent trade off, huh? lol I guess im a wimp, because i freeze up when im fighting up close and personal. I realize that even if i was a fighter, i would be speacialized in Archery. But i just cant see myself as anything other than a mystic/wizard/mage. Magic is where my heart is. I think thats part of the reason my husband has gotten interested in magic himself. I think he sees how much i enjoy it. And i think he gets a bit jelous of my windstirke, and wind shakle,lol. What is the manor system? And i do believe my husband is looking into bladedancer. He hasnt made his mind up yet, but he is working on it. I thought it was the ladies that had a hard time making up thier minds, hehe. Ohh, wait, maybe its that we change our minds to often? Yea, thats it, lol. We have never played WoW. This is the only online real play game we have ever played. And when we were playing while it was in beta, we only got to lvl 24 before we had to quit playing. Thats been so long ago, that we are realizing we didnt retain any of the info we had learned. So in essence, you could say we are true newbies to the online gaming experience. But we have a lot of friends who play WoW and Heros and even a few who play Everquest still. We just loved our lineage2 experience so much the first time, that we came back to Lineage 2. Its funny... we are the only people we know playing this game, lol. I really wish we could play together, it sounds like we share the same love of magic :). My husband is a nurse who works 13 hour 7pm to 8am shifts. So one week he has to work 5 days out of the week with 2 days off, then the next week he has to work 2 days with 5 off, and so on. So during his off week, we will get to play a lot. Today starts his off week, so by the end of the week, we should be nice a lvled up. But we play during the wee hours of morn. We usually sleep during the day, and then will be playing anywhere from 6pm to noon the next day on his days off. I work part time at night as a telecommunications officer (police dispatcher), but now im only a call in (it got a bit stressfull fulltime), so i only work when someone is sick. And i also work as a church child care worker 4 nights a week, but its only for a few hours each time, so my work will rarely conflict with play time. And we werent blessed with children (but im only 32, so theres still time :)), so we dont have children to distract our playing. The only downfall is that even though we function at night, almost everyone else functions at daytime, so sometimes to get things done, like pay bills and visit family...we have to loose sleep, lol. But we love it so much that i cant see us living any other way. People have accused us of vampireism. And if they ever proove to really exist, we may have to go get checked out, lol. Hmmm, i seem to have gotten a bit off track :). Anyway, can you tell me what some of the differences in WoW and this is? And why did you stop playing WoW and bless Lineage 2 with your presence?

I think the dwarves are so cute! And i have heard the kick deriere. But i like the exotic look of the elves. Although i also have a human character i started as well. I played DND when i was younger (ohh so long ago:( ......). And thats when i fell in love with the elven race. I will definatly look you up when we are on. We will be on mostly really early morns when my husband works. But his days off we will be playing all hours, so we will look you up. How do you know if you want to join a clan or even what clan to choose? We saw someone last night asking to recruit clan menbers. I guess what i am asking, is what are some of the benefits of joining a clan?
And i want to just say thanks to everyone for being so welcoming and friendly and sharing your advice. You all have made our playing experience even better than we had hoped.

I also know some nicer people in mirage and inv.
but lets NOT turn this into a chaos/inv thing, that would jsut suck
But if i had to judge, based on a judge not knowing the competition.. Lionna has been great to us. So thanks to the Lionna family :). And i am sure there are some wonderful people on all servers. And a few of them have even helped answer some of our questions even though thier not on our server. But we like this one for us. Due to everyone being so helpful we are planning to be permenant residents of Lionna.
RisingBlades is a Neutral alliance, in terms of server politics. We owned Innadril Castle until recently, and are currently seeking dedicated players who are looking to enjoy the game at their own pace and not have to worry about who they're under attack from this week.

Shillien Elder + BladeDancer is a good combo as well, not as fast in gaining XP as SE+SH, but BD is a great class. Both SE+BD are very wanted in groups as well, since they contribute alot to the group. I wouldn't go Shillien Knight though, killing speed isn't all that great.
If you go for SE+BD I'd suggest getting some nice damage dealing weapons for the SE as well, since he/she can help deal some decent damage as well. Might be more fun than SE and SH duo, as the SH would only need to be recharged and buffed, then he can go on forever at incredible pace.
Manor can be very good money, if you can get the right seeds. Different seeds give different rewards, find the ones that give high priced mats like bones, varnish etc. Check prices in Giran's sell/buy shops. I'm no expert on this, there are some good guides around here somewhere. Seeding 2-3-4x hp mobs (like the ones in catacombs), give more mature crops than single hp mobs, that is the best advice I can give really.
Hold on that whole 'clan' thing imo. You will be partying with people-getting to know them while you do raidbosses, etc.
Find people you like and don't be in a hurry to join a clan...one downside of our server is some alliances declare war on a different group every day. That's fun but at your levels you want to grind exp and learn more about the game--which won't happen if you die every day in clan/alliance feuds.
Heck, if the two of you play together and are going to continue (which is really cool btw) wait till you decide to form your own clan--it's an option for you!
As for the alliance thing...just steer clear for as long as you can. Few folks on this forum will say much about the 'big 2'.

So far it has paid off we have a friend who sat and explained a few things to us.. well hello all im new to the form, as some of you might know already, and those who dont know im Tyallie Husband, well so far i love the game ,but hate the game crashing on me all day yesterday, so i think i fixed it ,i play for 2hrs today and didnt crash, yay me, i just want to say TY for the people who made us feel welcome ,im not the talker in this couple ,as you all will see she is :p
