Crystals for a Level 20 Dark Wizard

Player Questions Started Last reply 7 posts
Hello all,

I will first apologize if this has already been asked but I have tried to browse the forums to see but had no luck.

I Have finally reached Level 20 and picked my class as Dark Wizard however I am slight curious as to where I get D Grade Crystals from, are they a drop or can they be brought from a shop etc etc.

Again I apologize for the newbie question but one I need a answer too :)
They're obtained by 'crushing' (Artisan/WS skill) or overenchanting items. You can usually find them in Giran and occasionaly Dion. Expect to pay about 600a each for them.

Also, summoning isn't really worth it 20-40. (Unless you just want to see how the thing looks, ofcourse :) )
Or to go without downtime. Once you run out of mp, pop out one of the summons, let it tank for a while and melee yourself with it, BTM+CLD (when you get CLD) and you'll be full of mp soon enough, and making xp all the while. Not to mention with the silhouette you'll make a bit of extra adena too.

Thank you for the help, however yet another newbie question :o

how do you 'crush' items and whats artisan/ws skill also how do you enchant yet or overchant items.

I am sorry for the further newbie questions but I honestly dont's know :o :o

as to summoning just to see what they look like its only natural :D

Artisans and warsmiths get a skill called "Crystalize" that lets them "crush" higher and higher grades of items.

also how do you enchant yet or overchant items.

There are Enchant Armor and Enchant Weapon scrolls for each grade of item (except NG). Use 1 scroll to add a +1 to each item. It is safe to enchant to +3 (+4 for armor 1 piece top/bottom). After that, if the enchant fails, the item disappears and you're left with roughly have its value in crystals.

Not going to get into blessed enchants...
A lvl 20 Artisan dwarf has an icon in the lower left hand corner of his inventory screen. If you drag an item that can be crushed over it you will be prompted as to whether or not you really want to crush this item. click "yes" and a certain amount of crystals will appear in the inventory.

Dwarves can only crush items that are appropriate for their lvl and below. So, a lvl 20 dwarf cannot crush A grade items but a lvl 70 dwarf can crush A grad and below.

Items can be overenchanted with scrolls (D grade, B grade etc). just double click on a scroll and a box comes up with all the items in your inventory. Select your item and click ok.

Items can be enchanted up to +3 with no worries. Full set (containing both upper and lower pieces of a robe or armor) can be brought to +4 with no worries.

Above that there is a chance that the items will fail the enchant and it will turn to crystals. however, it will be "less" crystals than what the item is worth, so overenchanting is not a valid way to get crystals.
Ah cool, A big THANK YOU to all who answered, this has helped me alot :D :D :D
