Behind every great player, there is a support player.
I find that playing this game solo has its benifits, but to truely taste all the power of online games, one has to engage with other players.
So do you like to support or be supported ?
I kinda enjoy both. This environment lets you experience the same thing from different perspectives, if you are clever enough to realise it.
So as a player, what is your favorite class to support you (in a duo). And reverse the question, if you are a support player, what is your favorite type of class to play with ?

I am a RL GM. When you /gm in RL, you get me.
Got review today from boss...
Boss : Well, I have to say you have... well yes I'm gonna use the word, a phenomenal talent with customer approach. I just wish you layed down on the [923]'s in the NOC.
As you have seen, now that we have finally met , I am a support-class player. People have accused me of being a Carebear because I enjoy being a healer / buffer, but it is the way that I play.
Even when I get on one of my more physical characters, I tend to be more support-class. I enjoy it more than being supported, for some reason. I like to know that I am helping, that I am making a difference.
As a player of a tank and a ws--i love support folks! they allow me to accomplish things in-game.
I haven't played that support role so i don't know what it entails (have only lvl 15 orc mystic thus far).
I can say that the role of support makes ALL the difference in my playing--whether a clannie is buffing me for solo hunting or the occasional good healer on a RB--they allow me to function.
Woot for supports! I don't play them....but I SURE appreciate them.
I like to play support more then i do taking a more direct role. Firstly i love magic more then anything else in the game, i always have played mages or clerics (im talkin BG2/NWN/D&D).
I like playing with Tanks the most condsidering thats who my buffs suit best (Bless Shield / Advanced Block) or melee classes.
Shame nobody wants to party me because i dont have VR :(
When will people realise VR isnt everything...I was in Apostate yesterday, and nobody would take ANY healer unless it was an SE.....it was rediculous, i just want to enjoy my class
People are idiots. But I think the more you level up, and the people around you, you will become more appreciated as an EE. (Especially when they die. Then they're not gonna be shouting for an SE :p)
As an SE, I am quick to ask my group to bring other healers into the group. My logic is that I am decent at buffing, and decent at healing (well, until C5 anyway), so having another healer is always another great thing.
Especially an EE, with their REALLY fast heals, and Party Return. I love EEs. They compliment me so well.
What I say, though, is that our non-support class players need to start thinking outside the box.

The greatest trick the GMs ever played was convincing L2 players they don't exist.
To bad it is not a Trick and they don't exist. Gms are like the Easter bunny or Santa Claus. A great idea to keep the youngsters innocent, but not something that is possible to be real
Im a SE, and i like the mix of buffing, healing and sometimes doing damage. So i like small meleeparties most.
If groups get bigger, it gets more difficult to keep evryone healed and buffed.
I dont like Archers in a meleegroup much, since i have to correct their shortcommings in the aggromanagement department with Root. I have yet to meet an archer, who manages to keep the aggro on the Tank. ;)
I apreciate aditional support in my groups of course, since i have to draw a line at buffing more than 4 People. :)
I play an SE for my second character, and it kinda irks me sometimes that he's leveled up faster than my main. My best friend plays EE and while she forgets to keep an eye on her own health bar at times (especially in "I am a crazy healer-DD!!!" mode) we work incredibly well together.

Oh, the GM's are there. You just don't see them. The reason you don't see them running around is a question of transparency.
/gm=911. What's your emergency ?
Even VOIP providers are obligated to offer "GM" service.
I log over 300 attributes about you every time you make a phone call.
Have Fun !

P.S. : I know I know that you two come in a pair UG, but a predator tries to scatter the group to single out a target ;-)
That old movie stuff of "hang up within 60 secs or they can trace you" is a drama effect. With digital routing, there is no chance to hide, from the moment that the connection was established.
911 in germany is 112 or 110 (depending if you want to have the fire squad or the police to ignore your call ;) )

Well thats prety easy answer, for my Sps im nothing without my favorite SE backing me up....
I also have got a prophet, but this guy as been used mostly to hlp my Sps lvl faster by duo-boxing when i can. So ofc, i got no real experience buffing grps yet.
But im sure, now that hes 52, that i will get the chance to do it more...... For now i suck at being a suport class....

2 numbers. Boy those germans have an answer for everything.
Around here, it was agreed upon to use only 911 for Police-Fire-Ambulance (operators from certain companies even use it as the initial branding, as in when you call them, they answer : Police-Fire-Ambulance).
By keeping only one number and with the current outsourcing of support, nowadays when you call 911, you will have to be routed by 2-4 operators before your call reaches its destination (Way to go, long time to get help...).
Oh, and kitten, we start recording not when the connection is established, but as soon as you pick up the receiver. As soon as you get a dial tone, it's basically the signal we are waiting for you to place a call... We even calculate how much time you take to dial, and each of the intervals between each time you press a key.

I guess we got 2 numbers, cause europeans can remember 2 numbers, while americans cannot ;)

In germany, when you call 110, you get an answer within a few seconds by some police officer, greeting you by name... Thanks to the wonders of telecommunication, the police knows your name and adress the moment they receive your call. Crying out "Help, there is someone in my house !" should be enough for the cops to come.... Well, if you are not mute, that is.

Interesting support. Around here, if you dial 911, even if you say nothing and hang up, the operator places a call to the police of the district the number is registered to.
The tricky part is, VOIP phones are mobile. They are registered to a specific address but the user can move around and use the phone.
Basically, if you dial 911 and hang up, a police car is sent at your address (and they are informed it's a VOIP phone, and most cops don't know what the HELL that means).
