Well there I was happily dualboxing my twink when I saw this a shout "Raidgroup looking for members".
Being a helpfull guy I though "aah what the hell I will help them out a bit so they will have some fun killing a boss".
(Cause remember killing a raidboss = bad for the adena/xp ratio at lower lvls or so I have exsperienced after playing more then 3 twinks.)
Anyway we get there and I start buffing the guys with some nice buffs. Bang!!!! Pertified...
Oooh boy, there goes the neightberhood. My main gets pertified as the group started attacking the boss while I was still buffing up.
Moral of the story: Never ever help out with lower lvls raidboss groups.
Btw NCsoft I know of the downsides to attacking a boss that is lower then 9 of your own lvl. Still in this day and age where raidboss's get camped by you know who helping those others that kill RB's for fun I consider a "plus".
Allso can you please get a timer on the pertify-debuff so at least I can see how much time I have to left being punished for helping newbies?
Actually, this is the point in time where you say screw the group and just walk away. If they can't be bothered to wait for you to give your outstanding higher-level buffs, they don't need you.

buff away from the boss, if the lowerl level players do not want the buffs then so be it. You can be within site of the boss, just no within range of shooting it with a bow - that's about how far you need to be.
Actually, if ANYONE in the group has already attacked the boss(and died) you have to be out of bow range, but otherwise, you can do it standing inside the boss itself. We found this out the hard way early on in C4, we were killing a raid boss down in DVC when the tank DC'd mid fight, we all got rolled as our backup was a lot lower in level. Those that could, relogged to avoid death, those that could not, died. We rezzed people up to do it again, and our Overlord started buffing, and BOOM Dead Overlord.
