I am somewhat new and have been trying out the dwarf,DE, Orc, and human races. All fighters so far, highest being a lvl 19 dwarf. I only want to solo. What is the best(oppinions welcome) race and class to pursue? :)
First i will tell u that Lineage 2 is not designed as solo game, and u wll take all advantages of your hero if play party.
But anyway,here it is:
Spell hower is Dark Elf mystic, with second class change done.
About your first questions. All attack type wizards are easy to solo.
Here they are :
1.Spell howller
+most powerfull wizard in the game
-slow cast speed, only few magic skills, easy to get killed if attacked by multiple enemy because he has the lowest HP in game.
If u learn to play with him well, great fun guaranteed.
2.Spellsinger
+great cast speed, big mana regeneration,a lot of skills.
-lowest damage output then other wizards.
3.Sorcerer (human)
So sorcers dont have so much + and - as others, they are well balanced chars.
4.Necros (human)
Necro is not clear type wizard, because he use both magic hits and summons to fight. But he is good to solo too,and if played well very hard to beat in PvP 1 vs 1 on high levels.
So this are solo chars for fast level up.But if u dont like mage chars for any reasons,u can do archers, which are considered as second most powerfull class in game.Bad news about them is that they are not so good without bufs, but i am sure
u will at least one frend buffer and go hunt:)
Great! Ty for the info. One other question...How come there are no Tanks/warriors/melee that are on the list for good and fast soloists? In the other MMOGs I've played, melee rules, so why r melee the worst soloists compared to  mages here?

Casters kill from range, so they are not often not hit (dont need to regen hp), they kill way faster the fighters. They all got at least some skill for mana management so they can go on long. SH and nekro, for example can go on without stop killing mobs with 2 hits (their cast speed will be way more later on then what you may of seen on lowble mystics).
I see what you mean. What do casters do when a MOB comes into melee and attacks you? Wouldn't it be better to be a melee class and stay in close combat rather than have to deal with a ranged magic class? I know what you mean, but am a little confused as to why a caster would be better solo than a tank that has armor and can stay in close combat for longer?
stick with your dwarf.. go artisan. soon you will get the mechanical golem summons. soloing as a dwarf is easy after that. + as a Artisan/WS you are more able to make money than other classes in this game. and in Lineage, money>all.
Don't believe me? just search for posts on how hard it is to make adena.. you'll find lots.
to solo even faster, buy a second account and make an Shilien Elder or Prophet buff slave. Went two years without one.. now have one and haven't looked back.

When you see mob getting close to you you can use one of the fast close range nukes, you can sleep (SPS and sork got mass sleap as well) or slow and kite.
For tank it will take lets say 30 sec to kill averege mob, for nuker it will take lets say 5 seconds, and nuker can go on way longer without a rest, as i said.
Fighters are party reliant if they whant to go for longer.
TY! Makes sense, I am just used to other MMO's where a tank can last longer and kill more as opposed to a mage that is "soft" and dies easily. I just want the best/fastest solo class available and L2 seems very, very different from other MMOs that I have played.
They forgot to mention Summoners, which are still a viable alternative if you merely wish to solo (that is, no PvP, come C5). My summoner can solo a room of whites and greens in a catacomb, where half of the mobs are physical damage resistant, and I don't even spam pet shots.
You can find some information about summoners in the library, in case you're interested. The class takes a certain kind of dedication, however.

summoners can solo just as well as a mage just slower and more expensive
dont listen to the guy who said go artisan/ws a ws is a hybrid summoner who lvls fast at the cost of making money
you said you wanted the best solo class the second post hit the nail on the head
there is no better solo class than a sh
My first question is if your going to solo, why do you have a need to level fast? To make adena? To pvp?
My suggestion to you is to play the character that is the most fun to you. Playing a character because it levels fast or somebody says it is great is not a reason to play one. The grind in this game is crazy and you need to find a character that you enjoy playing day in and day out. Try the melee out if that is what you like, so you have to sit once in awhile, what's the hurry? :)
Maybe summoner... but with the comming Chronicle 5 nerf... maybe not.
Well, a Necromancer would also work. Levelling would be somewhat more expensive but practically at the same speed and you would pwn in PvP (SH has serious problems with other range classes, Necro pwns all).
How come nukers are so good at soloing and possibly staying alive?
Well SH/Necro got drain spells that absorb enemy HP: does same damage as most other single-target attack spells out there and replenishes 1/3-1/2 hp at the same time. They can also absorb vital forces from enemy's corpses. Then there is sleep and slow to prevent enemies from even reaching you and silence to prevent harmfull magic being cast at you. Necros also get Anchor to completly paralyze an opponent, making him harmless for 2 min., Curse Gloom to lower magic defences by 33%, Transfer Pain to have virtually 2x hp with summon out and some other nice stuff.
Sorceror and especially Spellsinger on the other hand have superb casting speed, Sleep Cloud to keep whole hordes of mobs (up to 20 anyway :P) under control, Cancel to remove any magic support the enemy might have had (like mental shield stopping sleep), Aura Flare - an almost instant magic burst that will rip most mobs to pieces in fractions of seconds if they come close and powerfull Area Of Effect nukes.
Oh, almost forgot. Why SH/Necro? Because they get a skill that lets them sacrifice their health to regain mana. And how they are able to regain that health I wrote above. Plus Curse Death Link really rocks Raid Bosses and in certain circumstances is nice for exping too. But this is a different story.
See I think that kinda balances it out a bit SH is a nuker class they have problem with some other classes (range) and that is a weakness! But if your looking for an overpowered classes to basically kill everything in it's sights go Necro..come on everyone is lol ;) *jump on the ban wagon*
That depends on entirely what you define as "best solo" - as I've said countless times before: Yes, the necro and SH are probably the fastest EXPers solo. The summoners are the funnest and most versatile - I would like to see SHs solo ToI without downtime, at any rate. :>
-Spellhowlers have the most mana available to them due to the necromantic spells they use to replenish mana from health and then drain health from enemies.
-Spellsingers' mana regen is absolutely horrid due to no necromatic spells for mana regen. They do get a mana regen spell that ticks for a few extra mana points per minute, but it does not compete with even the lowest levels of necromancy. If solo, you will nuke for 5 minutes and sit or stand for 10 minutes.
-Sorc mana regen is between the two as they still do have low level necromatic spells.
Spells:
-Aura flare has been nerfed into pointlessness in PvP, and is completely inefficient for PvE. I no longer load the spell in my main bar anymore. Aura Bolt is a better finisher due to being mana efficient and longer range.
-No nuker worth their Bsps is going to sleep or Sleeping cloud(Area sleep) soloing. This is a common misperception told by players who only have melee characters. You find mobs you 1 or 2-hit and then press the nuke button twice and loot. If your clan/alliance is powerful enough and no one will loot your kills, it is more efficient to leave everything on the ground until you run out of mana.
-Over longer periods of time, mages in general are not that much better than melee and are just as expensive provided you know how to budget your limited resources. While it is true that melee do not have a limit fo swings, it is true they do have time and adena issues. Mages have limits in mana regen, adena issues and durability. Mages must solo where they get single pulls, melee can be beat on by multiple mobs and still expect to win.
Keep in mind this is SOLO, and not duo. A mage or melee with an SE can solo infinitely. The mage will kill faster and thus gain more XP/hour. The melee is less likely to die and drop something.
IMHO... Next chronicle mages are getting nerfed into pointlessness along with summoners. Mage solo ability will remain, but their PvP prowess is gone with the loss of sleep and the insane buffing of archers (who already outdamage mages by a longshot buffed)
Summoners are to this point being nerfed so hard I doubt playing one is worth anyone's time.
Honestly, the best first character is a Dwarf. You learn the game and gain Adena which you will need to compete in PvP with whatever you reroll later. Yes, dwarves suck in PvP, but so does every other class without proper equipment. Both BH and WS are great at making cash and are the backbone for any successful player. Decide what kind of player you are ("kill it and loot" (BH) or "play the market" (WS) and pick the dwarf class that matches it)
It's probably important to mention that mages and archers in L2 Kite mobs (unless they can kill them before the mob reaches them which is often the case). Some players from other games get confused when they stand there casting and keep getting interrupted by the mob in melee range.
Mages have adena issues? I could always nuke with less money for BSpS than it took me to kill a mob at the beginning of C Grade, and that's with no upgrades - and of course B Grade is not much more expensive than C Grade, and A is optional altogether for PvE (for PvE).
>>and of course B Grade is not much more expensive than C Grade,
B grade is CHEAPER than C grade.
Honestly on SH 52+ any 1xHP mob costs like 460-600(depending on the server) a to kill... 60+ mobs drop like 1200-2500 adena. How could adena be an issue for a nuker.
All classes must balance adena burn through ss/bsps.
Let's do some math.
Let's assume We are level 50 and using C grade equipment for arguement's sake.
We will assume the player in question is smart enough to find a mob they can kill that is not resistant to their element/weapon or physical/magic type.
Mage = Homunk or applicable x3 C grade with Acumen. (and demon robes) Alternatively, you could be using the Ghoul Staff and Karmian. Bsps are roughly 100-110 depending on whether you craft or buy. It takes roughly 300-330 Adena per shot, and you will kill things that require two hits. You will spend 600-660 adena per kill. Critical rate is insanely low and roughly halves the cost of killing a mob provided it is the first shot. (This will happen roughly .05% of the time with WM2.) Thus out of 200 mobs, you will kill one for half price.
Melee = Berzerker Blade with focus (x3 ss)... SS are roughly 16-17 adena. That's 48-51 adena per swing. Given that a mage is spending over 600, that means we have TWELVE swings to kill it to break even with what the mage spends in adena.
Using a C grade focus sword, we will have 8.3% crit rate due to weapon alone and a 7.3% bonus due to focus added. That is a 15.6% crit chance not counting buffs, songs, or dex bonus. Out of our TWELVE swings, we can statistically expect to get 2 criticals unbuffed. (Dex bonus counted) Criticals count as over 2 hits unbuffed. Thus for the same price as a mage, a melee gets 13-15 swings. Is anyone here going to tell me that a 50 melee cannot find mobs to kill light green/white mobs to kill in 14 swings with a 190+ patk weapon? I don't seem to have any issues.
B grade makes Bsps at 350-ish and ss at 61ish Thus the mage costs 700 adena to kill something and the melee has 11.5 swings and a 15.1% chance to crit before dex/buffs/songs which translates into 13-15 swings worth of damage counting criticals.
Note please, we are comparing a DAMAGE class to a tanking or hybrid tank/buff class...
The mage better deal damage faster than the tanking/hybrid class.
Granted, the melee is going to take damage while delivering melee... However, I never seem to have issues with my melee and HP... Eventually, the mobs wear you down, and you must rest, but my melee is killing quite a bit longer than my spellsinger does, and doesn't require the downtime my spellsinger does either. Over time, my nuker kills more mobs due simply to kill speed, but not as much as the "nerf everyone else but my favorite class" posters are saying.
I tend to kill whatever my nuker can 2-hit... (usually white with some light green is best) I tend to kill all light green mobs with my melee as those turn out for the best... I consider that the difference between melee and mage solo in the long run.
(Remember, this is ironman solo...)
Some points: Mages do not kite. We stand at range and 2-shot it. If the mob happens to hit us once, we just stand and take it and kill it next shot. Mage runspeed is miserable and wasting mana on a snare spell is quite frankly silly for a 2-shot mob. The only time I kite/sleep is when I pull more than one or if the mobs has more HP than 2-3 nukes.
Wow, TY all, that's a lot to digest. Ok, I started a dark elf mystic and it is going ok atm. Let's say I wanted to go melee for solo, what do you all think is the best solo melee race/class? I had a dwarf up to lvl 19, but found the spoil/sweep thing tedious to say the least. I would rather go for another race other than dwarf, unless I'm missing something. Comments on the best solo melee race/class? Ty

Leveling a dwarf is boring. I don't know why it is even boring in the lower lvls but it is.
Orc Tyrant or Destroyer (obviously those are second class change names). Tyrant uses fist weapons, has a lot of skills and very fast fighting. Destroyer has a lot of hitpoints, wields huge 2 handed weapons and does a lot of damage.
Blade Dancer (dark elf) is good and is wanted by all parties.
Eventually, from what I hear, most melee will need parties. However, when I was on the PTS for C4 I was able to lvl solo on my Destroyer subclass. Was still able to solo at 64 wearing C grade armor (though I had an A grade weapon).
So DE melee is a good way to go then? DE or Orc seems like the two I would like the most. Leaning toward DE atm.
Well, Dark Elf going Blade Dancer, like I said, does very well and will be wanted by everyone and their mother (but funny enough not grandma because she is bitter) and can do decent damage because of their strength. However, they have low constitution so lower hitpoints. Also, Dark Elf Going Shilien knight is a good class but my ingame friend said the levleling solo was so so slow. So I don't believe that is an option.
I've seen blade Dancers solo in their 70's though (at blazing swamp) so I know it is possible.
And, as I said, Destroyers can solo, at least from my experience, to 60's.
I really have no experience with the other races regarding solo so I have to defer to others.
In my experience, a properly played SK can solo to 70 is they want... slow? compared to...
a necro? yup
a SH? yup
a spellsinger? slower, but not as much as people think...
a DA? about even
a BD? likely a bit slower due to damage output.
One thing people forget is that BD dances affect pets now...
Your little wolfie/dragon gets yer patk, crit power, and eventually haste... (and Vamp, but thats extremely high)
SK can also use pets but cannot buff them. Polt cubic + pdef debuff can help a lot though...
Best part about playing BD is about how many groups will step all over themselves to group you...
If you never plan on grouping, I'd say SK/BD are even.
One thing that hasn't been mentioned... and it depends on your attention to detail and dedication. Warcriers are very powerful late game and are VERY good melee despite starting as mages. They solo very very well and are also liked by groups and handle pets well. Warcriers are anything but boring due to a bevy of spells and abilities... the problem? Early years are a little rough for awhile until you pick up your better buffs. Warcriers are the ONLY solo-viable class in the game that get Vamp Rage before 74. Keep in mind you get full magic and heavy armor masteries and can use any weapon along with having a melee attack that works even if you are silenced!
Warcriers are powerful in PvP in late game and can stand toe-to-toe with almost any class for short periods...
One thing of note, warcriers are being nerfed by the non 1H/2H blunt/sword restrictions for mages in C5. Today's warcriers usually wield duals or daggers, and this might only really lower some options.
If you want melee go for the power, go Orc!!! Be keen and go green, you will never look back...hehe OK Im biased. lol
Also take into consideration that 90% of the server is either a nuker or archer. Be unique and be something nobody else plays. Go DE and when you stand in town you look lost in the crowd. Go Orc and you stand out from the crowd. Also if you go Orc on Sieghardt I will give you a hand with the basics and guide you along your path. :)
Thats usal, when the Grind becomes repetitive.
Just change Mobs and go exploring. Sweating when blastin an AE in a group of mobs, trying to get them under control. Just try it out :) Catas are also good for experiments. Much resistances make for a change in Tactics.
