During the reign of the Elmoreden Empire, the Ivory Tower labored to recover, study, and improve upon the magic of the ancient giants and delve into the mysteries of creation itself. The mages of the tower scoured the world for arcane artifacts, ancient knowledge, and even made pacts with the primordial spirits, all to enhance their power. In fact, their magical prowess was so great that their influence rivaled even that of the emperor.
After the destruction of the old tower by Beleth, the Ivory Tower refocused itself and transformed into a facility purely for research and education. Many of the relics of the Golden Era remained within the tower, locked away for safe keeping, most forgotten with the passing of time.
One of these forgotten artifacts was in fact a prison for Seven Spirits of Mischief, who were spawned from the chaos during the War of the Gods. Unsympathetic to either Shilen or the gods, the Seven Spirits wreaked havoc to both sides through their natural control of spirits and the elements. Shilen created an amulet to which she bound them, casting it into the sea where it disappeared from history until its discovery by the Ivory Tower.
In the midst of a recent effort to catalogue many of these relics, an apprentice wizard re-discovered The Amulet of Mischief. Sensing that the young man was weak, the Spirits reached out to him from the amulet and took hold of his mind. Unable to refuse the voices, he was coaxed into casting the spell necessary to free the Seven Spirits, who immediately bolted from their eternal prison and are now celebrating their freedom across the world.
The Grand Magisters of the Ivory Tower have issued a warning throughout the land to beware of the Spirits of Mischief, as they have no compassion or sympathy as to the affairs of mortals. They warn that spirits, monsters, and fairies of all types are at the mercy of the Spirits call, and will appear gathering and attacking without rhyme or reason.
The Tower has deduced a way to re-imprison the Seven Spirits, but the ritual will require seven full days, one for each spirit. As each spirit is imprisoned, it will grow more active and violent, such that on each day of the ritual a different Spirit will dominate the others and manifest itself exclusively. The Ivory Tower requests that the citizens of Aden to try their best to quell this threat where it appears and protect the Ivory Tower so that the spirits may be sealed away once again.

Over the course of one week, monsters will be appearing in large numbers in different areas. The Ivory Tower will be a frequent target of these creatures. Keep an eye out for these wayward spirits!
With the Market prices the way they are this could be the best thing there is. Get some items back the little people on the servers.
New players need love too.
i'm confused about this whole Ivory Tower thing... are we to guard it?
are all mobs that get taken over simply start running towards it?
The details imply the mobs will focus on the Ivory Tower, but that would be foolish. A very few number of high-levels would take care of that approach easily, or, if not, no one could... So..
The mobs will more likely appear in varying strengths and in varying locations, like the Daftstin mobs.
mmmm i made a few hundred mil on that event that had raids attacking the landscape then i quit and i just came back to the game af ew days ago and now here we are!
Come on man the event hasn't even started yet. I am very suprised we are even getting an event in June. But I am very happy we are getting an event. I spent the last month setting in Giran playing the market and have finaly gotten my DC set and A jewelry. I went out to grind last night and didnt last 10 minutes it was just too dam boring. So for me this event came just in time because I was seriously thinking about taking a month off until Independance day.
It looks like this will be a raid boss event. Here is what I get from the event story. Sounds like mobs will spawn in all different places throught the day. But 1 of the Spirits will be dominent each day. Sounds like that spirit towards the end of the day or end of the spawn period will attack IT with an army. Sounds like great fun if your alliance is strong enough to compete at the ivory towar. If not hunt the mobs that randomly spwan around the world.
I love these types of events. It's a break from the grind not just another drop to be sold or turned in for random or worthless stuff to sell. Plus these types events in past have been great for drops specially L2 scrolls.
During independance day and holloween events I had the time to play during the day and really enjoyed the events. Now I cant play much during the day so I hope they spwan at night too. Can't wait for June 2nd.

I love the sound of this event, and the fact that it has a lore base as well. It doesn't just sound like something whipped up for the sake of having an event.
Bravo! Now to see how good it is for me and my clan.
I'm really sorry. My mind was weak for an instant, the spirits of mischief profited from my will to gain knowledge and tricked me into pronouncing the words, with hopes of power and knowledge at the end of the deal.
Unfortunatly, I think I have somehow unleashed something greater than I can handle alone.

I agree with you, it's got some nice lore, and model. Let's see how it turns out. I will probably be watching this event as carefully as you watch me. ;)

no ... this is an awesome event ... for those of us in the game last year ... a bunch of mobs appear all together and you go try and kill them in random places ... they drop awesome stuff in huge amounts ....
What i find interesting and it seems that everyone has missed the point.
This is a story based event.... Do you see any mention of what loot/rewards will drop?
Sure its a nice story but do you really think ppl will show up and kill mobs just to protect the Ivory Tower lol ? Of course not. Mobs need to drop items (or give good exp) for ppl to actually bother doing this event, and i can only guess they will drop the same as abaout all other events give; enchants, soul crystals, l2day scrolls, all that stuff......

i think you have misread the storyline ... mobs will appear all over aden and elmore not just around IT

Yes, I do.... Protect the Ivory Tower!!!! Anyways do you see any mention of drops?

No i don't, thats why i said I CAN ONLY GUESS that they will drop the same things as always
My guess is that there will be drops, but mostly from the "boss mobs". The other mobs will probably drop potions, L2Day scrolls, etc., like the last event similar to this one. Of course, this is all just speculation.
In either case, I'm glad to have an event.
Having multiple mobs raid randomly actually favors melee class (poles, anyone?) as much as it does mages. Form your parties now and have someone stationed in every village, as well as at IT. This should be fun.

I just could not read anymore, then I come to this person... 2+2=4 if there are mobs there are drops, it is really very simple.
I am glad to hear we are getting this event. Though please excuse me that experience since December 2005 has kinda left me very jaded about events.
I *hope* this turns out to be a great event, and isn't either a limited event (only a few can access) or a low reward event (which feels draining for most)
Nono, I wasnt complaining about the Event itself, Im HAPPY about it. I loved the raid boss event, I would set timers so I knew to get back to the computer because it was getting close to spawn time. I had toons set up in known spawn spots to check for them. I would kill all the monsters, collect loot, then drag raid bosses away into secluded spots for my clanmates to kill later on. It was great fun.
So Mistryl will we be getting drops?
If we are any hints as to what they will be?
To be honest I know many people have been very dissapointed with the last few events. Not that the efforts were not appreciated but that the events themselves were lacking that special something. Good drops would be nice after the lack in the last few.
Ok I know the story line for events really doesn't mean too much. But I realy like events and usually read to much into the story line. But what the heck I have nothing else to do right now why im at work.

Look everywhere because this tells me they will spawn all over

Ok another hint that they will spawn all over. But it also sounds like the boss mob will spawn and attack IT. If you have a strong alliance it may be worth it to go to IT. Otherwise I see alot of pvp then again that may be fun.

Sound like you might not want to take them on solo.
I don't know.... I'm interested in a deep story line event.
No offence Splatter, but I put in bold what's important in your statement.
You might enjoy staying D grade in this game, but most try to get to higher levels. It'ts plain and simple : as a D-grader, the current market doesn't affect you as much as it does others.
Many people are tired of working months on end, just to afford their A-grade armour.
Don't get me wrong, we like a good story, but good drops in an event are necessary to keep us in the game because playing the market ain't everyone's cup of tea
Every time we get an event all i hear is how it's a farmers event. How it favors the farmer.
Well for once with a story based event it's no longer a farmers event.
You won't hear me complain about events helping farmers...
1) They are here to stay, in whatever shape or form.
2) They are already rich, events make them more rich, but how much money do they really need? As long as I can make some money too, even just a little, I'm happy
Farmers don't affect my happiness in game, or at least I try to not let it affect me ;)
PS I do understand what you're getting at Splatter, though. I'm just trying to let you understand my point of view
I don't think events like this benefit the farmers. Since these mobs spawn in large groups randomly around the world. They won't stop farming just to hunt event mobs.
Other events like the medal and pumpkin events do because you hunt the same mobs over. The only difference is the event item drop. Every event like this within hours someone is in town selling hundreds of event items while the rest of us are try to get our first 50.
I can't wait tell friday. I just wish I knew what time the event is going to start on the 2nd. Will it be thursday night after midnight or will it be friday morning when the fun begins. I will be an event maniac this weekend LOL.
This makes me sad, the first event in a couple months, and I'm stuck evaluating for the FPS International Conference in Colorado. Oh well, at least I get to sit with my feet up instead of actually spending this week working.

Not a lot of the events were "farmer" based. Anything where items dropped off mobs like the last events the farmers end up just selling the items. So its not "farmer" friendly imo.

These mobs will eat bots alive. Definetly not a farmer event.
And Splatter, we had a similar story with the last event like this (Daftskins Revenge or whatever this cool guy was called that slaughter every citizen of Giran lol). It's nothing "new" here. In fact, EVERY event so far had a little story to it.
If this event is like Daftskin, the mobs will spawn in large numbers, all aggro, will be dark red to you if you hunt in your usual hunting region. After the minions are dead, a raidboss will spawn.
This was by far my favorite event, THANKS NCSoft :)

I think I'm going to take tomorrow off to participate in this event. Who am I kidding, I'd rather be in-game than in-work-cubicle any day.

Hmm... Well.. In the past, the events didn't start at 12:01am on the 'start' date. You may be sitting at home waiting, and find the event not starting until evening. (Remember the event that only ran on weekends, (and maybe in the evening, not sure?) That was to give players a better chance than the 24/7 folks.)
if its anything like the last raid mob events. I wouldn't go it alone against event mobs close to your lvl. Thier not all that tough but alot of them and they are social agro.
Probably CST. Can't wait to look for the late night spawns Friday and Saturday night, I loved that during the other event.
Yes, the raid boss event? It was a good one...I think it usually spawned twice and maybe 3 times a day on weekends so you get one in the afternoon and one at night. I loved logging on at lunch time on the last event and cashing in like no tomorrow. I am already dreaming of how many weapons i will blow up with the scrolls i get mmm
The event mobs spawned on my server and were slaughtered by the raid boss farmers. I was looking forward to this event, but I guess its just more content that the real players won't have access to.
Yeah we saw a bunch spawn but no good drops. We got a ton of guardian angels/ToI 10 type mobs, a few homunkuluses and disciples of protection spawn near anghel's waterfall. We slaughtered like 40 of them and zero drops other than the normal adena/SOP/etc.
The mobs are all high level , 60+ mobs from forge of the gods, silenos areas, wall of agros. I got killed by enemy clans almost immediately. Good times.
Looks to be the same as the Dark Lord event, but with lower drop rates (not all the mobs drop stuff). L2Day scrolls, brez, bsoe, soul crystals (so far up to lvl 10), enchants D,C,B (no A or S so far). Mobs include up to Forge of Gods lvl (Ifrits etc.), also raid bosses.
Look that you are in a GOOD nuker group or you won't get anything from the raid bosses. Sucks, but that is the reality.
Yeah :/ I was hoping that the mobs would start low enough that I could use my SH but I guess not. One of the ifrits almost wiped my entire party out in one shot.
so i thought i hit a lucky break, i was grinding in sea of spores and BAM 40 mobs appear. I figured since its a level 4x leveling spot the mobs would match. I didnt pay attention and shot an arrow...turns out they were around level 7x and down i went.

haha and you were complaining about enemy clans pk'ing...i remember that raid boss event and seeing mages mass nuke a whole group and get every drop. I didnt like this event first due to mob level but it makes sense that they dont want just 1 person getting all the action.
As far as I can say
(Lionna)
Spawns since 13 CDT
No System message
Mobs all over the world (around 30-60 mobs each grp)
Higher level than the normal area mobs (e.g. ToI and WoA Angels in Giran Region)
Only 2-3 mobs of the whole groups drops something (and then much lesser than dark lord)
Drops: Enchant scrolls D/C-Grade (even from 70+ RBs), L2-Day, SA Crystals up to lvl 8, 1 QHP lol
Some groups has RBs. (mainly with minions and no little orc..)

I hope the drops getting better till the end ^^
Well, I think ncsoft knows what its doing.
There isnt any messages thats the point of the randomness of the event and the story behind it. There is a message when you login game to be careful because they can appear anywhere.
Also, monsters will become more aggressive they state so maybe there will be more mobs of varying levels and drop rates. Surely they wouldnt make an event exclusively for high levels.
Overall I am pretty excited to see how this event moves forward. They took all the gankness of the raid boss event and fixed all the flaws (one person being able to take down a whole group of mobs with one nuke and gets all the drops). You need at least a small party for these mobs.
What is going to be really funny is when bots are grinding and mobs spawn next to them and they auto attack the event mobs and get dropped like a bad habit lmao
on Erica server, the Rogues (mine clan) spotted 3 groups of event mobs. first group we took down with a full party, average level mid 50's, the mobs being toi mobs and such, angels mostly. gopt scrolls and enchants and such.
secpnd group was ifrits. not knowing about ifrits, we attacked, and got killed when it exploded. I lived because I crashed just as we attacked. we left for elsewhere.
third group was angels again. no drops this time, though, and we some people attacking around the edges of the group as well.
still, not bad, ended up with 4 l2day scrolls and 1 ewc, not mention about 10% exp. also had a lot of fun. still 6 days to go, too.
No they don't... It's a bit disappointing thus far, but the fun part of this is that it's interactive, as different spirits of mischief will hopefully act in different ways...
I did enjoy your comment about spawning higher level monsters in certain areas to disrupt farmers and bots.
Ok, after an initial analysis, here is what is wrong...
- VERY high level mobs in areas they are not supposed to be. Good greif, come on, except from around IT, make them level specific, you are killing the low level soloers (or are you just trying to ward farmers away ?)
- Usuall same old same old. Where the HELL is your creativity. You drop stupid scrolls, and crystals and potions... **** ! How about some specific event loot... It was roleplaying from the start, then you made it some high level group thing with just the usuall event loot.
- Random spawns make it people who actively pursue the event and are casual gamers are left hanging dry. If you spawn them, spawn them all the time, at different areas, and send system messages of "mischief". Those Mischief Lords should speak more... Do they even have names ?
- It's half baked up to now, but you can easily turn the tide. Make tomorrow's spirit a bit better...
i agree with every point except for the casual gamer part. Lineage 2 is many things but one thing it isnt made for is a casual gamer.
Well, perhaps. But it still remains you cater to this population. The best thing about this population, is they are high retention rate (very lazy with credit cards), they don't play much so they don't use much bandwith and are rich (because they don't play all the time). They are also low attention span, so you have to grab them right away...
The problem with events is they have difficulty appealing to the different types of gamers.
I've been trying to keep up with what's been posted thus far, as well as keeping my eye on shouts during the day while in shop in town... waiting for hubby to get home (just happens to be my clan/alliance leader lol)... but we've been running around IT for the past hour looking for some action and nothing.
I envy the bigger alliances who have people set up all over the place. Some good organization going on. Nice to see old familiar faces again too... looking like they have a purpose lol
Is there one spot in particular that sees a lot of spawns?
How often are they spawning... cuz still haven't seen anything. And I meant... are they spawning anywhere else on a more frequent basis? Help me here!! This might be my last day for a while... waahhhh....

Well, so now do you doubt of my casual gamer theory ?
Sorry, I haven't seen any, and from the sound of it, even if I did, I'd just get squashed by them.
So instead I had my own little farmer war instead, which I of course lost, but did kill a dozen farmers many many times over. (then they finally logged in their uber-geared people to beat the crap out of me)
Im good, 1 day down, and I have a dozen EWDs, More EADs than I can stuff in a warehouse, and near 40 of most buffscrolls. No big alliance needed unless you want to do the high level stuff(Risk death and gear loss for C grade? no thanks).
they spawn in the exact same places that the dark lord mobs spawned in thats only help im giving anyone.
39 mobs killed so far 2 QHP
Honestly the event manage since the pumpkin event needs to be shot. All the event have sucked since then i rather not have an event if i kill 39 mobs that i level on i rather just go level then hunt for them if they arent going to friggen drop anything.

quoted for truth. I've assisted in over 60 event mob's death. We got 2 l2 day scrolls.
BOOOOOO HIIIIIIISSSSS
where's the event??? I ported to my normal hunting spot to kill green mobs (level 51) and there were level 70ish mobs there. Hello??? and they didn't drop event items when a group of us managed to take out some.
I have to agree with Sly. The level mobs are not the worse part, the worse part are the drops that are not happening. These event mobs are just hobos without any valuable items in their wallet, why do I want to do this event? I don't. End it now or start it now but what you have now is not an event - it's a dissapointment. Tho I did see a few dead bots mixed in with the level 70ish event mobs in the level 50ish area. Clarification, level 70ish 5x HP mobs.
Sorry, I haven't seen any, and from the sound of it, even if I did, I'd just get squashed by them.
I bumped into a few groups of the event mobs in FG and outside Aden. Lots of high level mobs. Red to my 62 SK. Of course that didn't stop me from trying to solo a few of them anyway.
With low level buffs, a few GHPs and SK skills it can be done. But it's not really worth killing them, giving the drop rate. I killed 5 of the guardian/protector/seal angels or whatever they're called, as well as two of the other mobs that I can't name. I got lots of XP given their level, but only adena for drops. Hopefully drops will increase and the level of the event mobs will change so that my other characters can participate in the event.
One thing is for sure, I'd like to congratulate the creator(s) and/or designer(s) of the Blazing Ifrits. Some mobs look threatening, but aren't. Not so with Blazing Ifrits. They look bad-***; they are bad-***. 6X HP on these buggers!
I was not about to solo that. Waited for a party to form, and then went to work.
The first two we killed fairly effortlessly. But the third? One AOE from it took out 3 members of my party. Damage was around 2800 to me, in Tallum Plate and Majestic jewels with Guard Stance (about 1200 p/def). Yes, I died.
I keep wishing that they bring back the Medal or the Pumpkin event :(
Trust me you wont want either event to come back. NCSOFT NA has done it again. GOD I really hate writing this I was soooooo looking forward to this event.
I give them credit they have been consistant since the xmas event. Someone take the Nerf hammer away from the event development team. We found 2 groups this morning but havent seen a single other group spawn the rest of the day. Yes I have been looking I looked all over the map all day today for 14 hours except a couple hours here and there grinding.
Out of these 2 groups we killed 40 mobs and got 10=L2day scrolls, 1 wep enchant and 3 armor enchants. I mean am I wrong are events suppose to be something special besides the same old grind with horrible drop rate. Why have an event if nothing is special. Yes there are more raid bosses but well on my server most can't compete at ivory tower with the the uber alliances.
The question I have is who took over the event team at NcSoft NA in December. Since then events have just been plain horrible. We have had 2 raid events before this one and they were both awesome. But this one has been nerfed to death just like the rest of the events.
I can't believe I let myself get excited about this event. What a waisted day.
I learned a while ago not to get excited about NCNA events. Last year's raid event and the pumpkin event were the exception to the rule I'm afraid. Be ready for more useless events targetted at the no-life squad who have level 78 toons to solo these mobs.
How could they make these events drop useful items (level 11/12/13 crystals, A helmet recs etc.), it would absolutely ruin some farmers.

and help those of us who can't afford a stage 12 SA crystal going for 160m Adena.
Last year's raid boss event (Dark Lord) I was in a large, active alliance and I had a blast. This year, noone's around. Sucks being a healer for an event like this.
Here's the deal. The avg player is higher lvl than in the past. On the last event like this, my clan would simply blow through all of the event bosses from Heine to Oren. It was cool for us, but I kinda felt bad for the peeps in those level ranges.
This time, that isn't the case.
For those of you too **** dense to figure it out, the mobs that spawn are roughly 10 -15 levels higher than the area they spawn in. If you are in a decent group, it's no big deal, you just have ot be **** careful.
If you are a soloer, hunt for the event mobs in areas quite a bit lower than you.
agree with what folk have been saying about the lvl of the mobs - only ones ive seen so far really require a decent lvl party - or slowly solo soem of them. would be good to know if theres also low lvl mobs in other areas for lower lvl people. putting high lvl mobs in a reasonably low lvl IT area is going to confuse folk :)
Ive been involved in killing 4 spawns of mobs over 3 locations so far - drops have been the usual l2day and enchants
but we've also taken out 3 of the raid bosses
first two were Ocean Flame Ashakiel in 2 seperate locations
1st gave us a selection of l2day, enchants and lvl8-10 soul crystals and also a large collection of Imperial Crusader Shield Parts
2nd was same but it was Imperial Crusader Helmet Parts
3rd Raid boss was Longhorn Golkonda outside in the wild :)
he again dropped all the usual scrolls, etc but also a Basalt Battlehammer which was nice :)
so this event had given us the chance to kill a couple of raid bosses we wouldnt normally have got a chance to - just need to find them before the raid farmers :)

lol - that is so not tru
i will take Blazing Ifrit as an example - lvl 84 mob in Ivory Tower pit which is the location of lvl 40-45 mobs - thats a ~40 lvl difference - not a 10-15
think the lowest lvl mob i saw in the pit from event spawn was Judge of Marsh @ lvl 65 - its probably the easiest to kill as its not a "strong" mob but it never dropped anything worthwhile
most of the mobs however seem to be lvl 7x strong mobs
Yep totally not true. The mobs are easily 40 levels above their area like you said. The blazing ifrits, for all their sissy prancing and crying when they die, can explode your entire party to death, upon death. I was ninja-ing out the judgement of marsh, ghost of tower, and emptying my entire mp bar to kill the homukulii and killed 15 of them. Got 1 that dropped a bunch of scrolls :/
Did better in a party but still, what's with the uber high, 5x hp mobs?
I have found tons of mobs though, in sea of spores and around Ivory tower. At least 4 batches so far.

Note that they said IT would be the main focus of these attacks and IT is where the story line is based around. This is why you have such high lvl mobs here. The mobs spawning around Gludio area are in the 40ish range...however this is also true of the mobs around Gludin :/
have spent quite a few hours looking for mobs with several of our alliance people out in search as well, Have not found any yet. We did split up to cover more ground from Dev castle to giran, obviously not the whole area but what we could see. So far I have killed the rb in IT pit, got a ton of l2 day scrolls, eaD and ewD, the best drop was 84 imperial helm designs which I was fortunate to pick up. Went looking around after that, came back to IT and there were the mob mobs out the N gate. Did what we could to kill them then tried the RB.
Here's the deal. The avg player is higher lvl than in the past. On the last event like this, my clan would simply blow through all of the event bosses from Heine to Oren. It was cool for us, but I kinda felt bad for the peeps in those level ranges.
This time, that isn't the case.

If you are a soloer, hunt for the event mobs in areas quite a bit lower than you.
posting to flame without a match is not good
gets some facts, then flame
at one of my level areas, lvl 50mobs had level 75 event mobs, and I'm miles away from IT
Knowing who assists who, as well as the AI... risk was pretty much non existant, as I know what I a, doing. The only X factor was whether or not some of the nuker mobs would magic crit me... in which case I could have died.
Seriously... there is little in the way of danger. There groups are so random, I can pull any mob and know I will get 3-5 tops following me... which is pretty easy to manage as a nuker ( I am scared of the sleep reuse nerf in C5 ).
had some good success today...mobs were still higher level than the old raid boss event but i was able to find two groups to kill. Overall drops are reduced to about 1/25th of the old event unfortunately..hell...two groups to myself and i would be rich already! Anyway, I got a some enchants, a few BSOE's and l2day stuff. I also gave some noob in bone gear 8 d armor enchants cuz I felt bad there was no mobs he could kill, remember the noobs!
Yeah, I am really disappointed with the drop rates of the event items. My party farmed 2 full spawns near IT of Forge of the Gods and Imperial Tomb mobs and maybe had 4 out of 50 mobs actually drop anything... The most useful were 2 BREZ's and 4 Emp scrolls. Killed a couple 8x raid bosses. They seemed to drop what they normally drop plus 3 weapon enchants of each grade from B to D, 5 armor enchants from each grade of B to D, 10 L2 Day scrolls of each type, 3 BREZ's, 5 BSOE's and a few quick heal pots. Not exactly something to write home about considering the raid bosses were made more difficult for this event. :/
Since you brought that up, let me ask you this.....
When you kill these event mobs, do you get a Pop-Up box that continues the story? Gives you further information? Tells you to go somewhere and something? Gives you a reward for that particular event/task?
Or is it just like saying: Here's the Game. Here's the map full of mobs. Go kill any you can, want.
The former example is An Event.
The later, is just mindless grind of mobs with a bit better XP/Drop rates, but does not constitute an "Event".
No, it does constitute as an event. Because an event is anything abnormal. The normal way the game goes there is no raidbosses spawning at wierd points.
I for one am kind of disappointed as well. My party of people are taking this opportunity to simply kill the raid bosses just for the normal drops. The others are a bonus and with the frequency of raid bosses, it is impossible for the RB Farmers to get them all.
I happen to like the high level mobs but I think the drop rate of the stuff sucks. a party of like 7 of us went and killed a WHOLE bunch of them and like 3 out of maybe 50 dropped something. That's insane. If I wanted to kill those mobs just for xp I'd take a party to lower FoG. I think it's insane how they gimped the drops.
The problem I'm having is finding the **** mobs, they're randomly spawned ANYWHERE on the map lol, and it's too huge to cover even 15% of it in 1 day with a group of people.
My boyfriend and I decided to give it a go on a new server, and our first two hours in, we found a weird salamander in a strange spot. It was pink to us, but I am always gung ** for adventure, so I said let's kill it for fun (it didn't even occur to us it might be part of the event, we thought they just changed mobbies on us again :P). MANY scrolls later we celebrated by selling some scrolls and getting top ng to start our time on our new server ^^ NICE way to begin, I must say! :D
Thanks NC ^^
The stupid thing is that it is not really worth it to help killing the raid bosses unless you are in THE nuker party which does the most damage. They reduced the drops compared to the Dark Lord event, which means that in the few seconds the nuker group has exclusive loot rights they (i.e. their BD or whoever is standing next to the boss) simply pick up all the stuff. So if you're in a "mixed" party, go there and then decide to help take down the raid boss, you will get nothing.
In the Dark Lord event, the bosses dropped far more stuff so that even after the exclusive looting there still was some stuff left for other parties spamming the pickup button. People are greedy, and when you point out that this is not exactly fair and that maybe the loot should be split, they just say "we did the damage, so we get the stuff". Well, and then it looks like this here (http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/7858/yay3bs.jpg), where in our party of six 70+ people, but with only two nukers, only one person got something.
Killing the standard event mobs is the only thing worthwhile unless you are in a party with 6 or 7 70+ nukers. Or, like someone said yesterday "it's not worth it to travel around the whole world to search for the bosses, you spend more money on the GK than you get as loot".
Yep for "fun" yesterday I started in Gludio, ran down past the ruins, through the wastelands, up the Gludin coast, to orc land, ran all the way to the cave of trials, back to town, Gludin, ran from Giran to oren through the lizardmen plains, circled around ivory tower, sea of spores and didn't find a thing. Got bored and logged off.
Here's the what I've found on my alt. with this event. There are 2 mobs per group that drop stuff, and they are of the same kind of mob as well ( i.e the fettered souls that have been spawning around gludio) 6 fettereds were in the last group of mobs i found, but only two drop... They do drop quite a bit of loot, usually about 10 diff things.
The raid bosses are pretty much like the dark lord event. If you have the right lvls there... meaning, dont get an full party of lvl 53s for a lvl 45 boss coz ur drops wont be too great. We did two lvl 45 bosses on our server.. and had pretty much all around 45 or below in two parties.. and he dropped tons.. and equipment too...
It's a marginal event.. I've gotten stuff from it, but im still not impressed. If I died from this event I'd be ******. I died with my main tons of times during the dark lord event and it was 100% worth it to be the only one trying to kill the whole group of mobs.

Same here, only went back to normal xp'ing. For a person who doesn't have a great deal of time to play as it is, this event hasn't paid off for me. Glad to hear that at least some ppl are enjoying this event. Just wish I was one of them. :)

Lol, I died twice there.. somehow ended up with 2 guidance scrolls in my bag, which is weirid couse I'm shure that I didnt get anything when we dropped the mobs.
If clanies will find more mobs, I'll go with them, if no then who cares..
i had fun :)
my clan found a bunch of forge of gods mobs on the road to ToI from aden
didnt really get much only one ewb i think but we were regenning and i got bored so i shot into the middle of a group of mobs
was like a stampede
a lot of people died (not necessarily because of me :O) cause mobs kept exploding when they died
You have got to be (%#)(¤"#)(="# kidding me, we finally find a big group, get our people together, we die many times (no drops so far other than 2 focus scrolls), then finally when we get the group spread out enough and are starting to kill them, one drops enchant scrolls and other goodies.
Ok whoever took over the event staff from now to dec needs to be fired and whoever was head of the event staff from april to dec last year needs to be rehired.
Buff scrolls are almost pointless to any person that is at war because you get ganked so much your wasting the scrolls its easier just to have a buff slave.
Enchant Weapon and Armour D? are you kidding me how many people do you honestly think are still in dgrade on the **** servers?
2 QHP pots? I use 10 on avg in just 1 pvp fight (nevermind my enemies usually have 25 - 100 on them) 2 qhp is nothing drop 10 - 20 of them at a time maybe it be something intresting.
BSoEs and Brezes are nice but 2 brezes and 4 Bsoes for killing a whole mess of 80+ mobs?
Honestly what are the people at NcSoft smoking? Level 8 - 10 soul crystals? wow thanks i know so many people have trouble getting those lol.
Here is things i know the whole community would like to see.
C B A weapon enchants
B A armour enchants
Blesssed C B A weapon and armour enchants
A/B armour and weapon reciepes (make it all 60% reciepes if u dont want to feel generous)
Level 11 - 13 soul crystals all colors.
Why your at it change the friggen subclass and noble quest and take raid bosses out of what you have to do for them.
I was really looking forward to this event, last years Dark Lord event was a blast. We would even get together with random players to take out raid mobs, plus killing the escort mobs and GETTING worth while drops. The best drop we have gotten so far from this event are the +8 duel knights my dwarf dropped when she died.
Since the pumpkin event the so called events have sucked severely. I appreciate the attempt, but look at what you have done in the past and build on it, don't tear it apart. One would think the Event Team would want to encourage player to participate in the event, after all they have put some work into designing an event.
PLEASE look at the events people enjoyed in the past and WHY they enjoyed them then make similar events that the player base will enjoy for similar reasons (IE. gather medal and turn in for items you want) make them full and worth while, doesn't matter how good the "story" is if the event totally sucks.
P.S. DM, I figured you WERE the seventh spirit of mischief :D
to top it off the event mobs only spawn once per day...the dark lord event they spawned once in teh afternoon and once in the evening giving everyone a chance to go get some stuff...bah :( I have been runnning around the noob hunting areas and throwing the poor nubs d armor enchants figure they may as well get somethin.
P.S. DM, I figured you WERE the seventh spirit of mischief :D
NOES !!! You didn't read the lore. I was the one that set them free (even tho NCSoft will always deny having any implication with anything I say or do).
Hahahahahahahahhaha ! These spirits are nothing compared to the Dark Lord of Mischief.
But less whining and lore, and more suggestions :
- Mobs that poison you when you hit them, mobs that cast mass curse of the lake (big head), mobs that vashish, mobs that are treated as players (flag purple if you hit them)...
- USELESS crappy loot. Not crappy loot like you guys have been handing out for free, I'm talking like a "key of Makiavela". Item description : This item is worthless. BUT, on the last day of the event, some chests fall as loot and you need certain "useless" keys to open these chests.
- The spirit of Mischief should be named, and should be GM controled. It should spam messages out to players and taunt them. Furthermore, the spirit could mass teleport folks to nearby areas, or make tons of aggro elpies appear, or if he feels in danger, spawn Zaken to protect him.
"You ain't never heard a sound like this before, cause I ain't never put it down like this, soon as I come through the door she get to pullin on my zipper, it's like is a race who could get undressed quicker...
I touch the right spot at the right time." (50 cent)
Well after 3 days of the event all but a small few of my alliance has given up on the event.
I haven't yet, I have found and killed 4 groups of event mobs. Yes the drops are horrible compared to last 2 raid boss events. This event came out of nowhere. I think it is just something they threw in for june to fill the gap until 4th of July.
I am hoping the 4th of July event doesn't get touched by the Nerf squad. We will have to wait and see.

QFS (Quoted For Sample). To tell you the truth, I think it's fast reaction to the monday board raid. They just spawned some high level mobs with a very good introduction, but a poor execution up to now.
It kinda seems like they overreacted to the griping about too much loot from the old events. Im sure it will be a bit of a learning curve for them, and we'll see better drops in the future till they get it "Just right".
Castle Owners want LESS scrolls pushed out, Normal Players want MORE scrolls. As far as I am concerned, listening to the Castle Owners(who are the Minority) is a mistake. Make the largest portion of your fan base happy. Im sure we'll be seeing a poll after this event, make sure to put in your vote!
I coined it first! Today at IT I saw a bunch of farmers forming up, and sure enough a ton of high level mobs spawned. I hit one, pulled three, got quickly owned and dropped my +3 BO ring. Was sooo mad. Unfortunately I haven't seen anything even close to my level so I've been trying to ninja what I can but it usually ends up in equipment and/or exp loss :/
The only good thing I can say about this event is that I got 2 EAB and put enchanted both my BO rings to +4 successfully. Other than that it's best for me to just exp so I can be noblesse faster and benefit more from Noblesse gate passes and cheap port fees.
I got lucky ^^
I found a group of mobs of my lvl. Running from Gludin to Gludio on lvl 42 toon O.o.
Soloed them, out of the whole bunch only 4 mobs dropped. But still got at least 5m worth of drops.
Now I feel a bit better about this event
Some of the mobs r really 'broken'. We just killed outside Aden some Vampires, some drop nothin, some nice stuff (BG enchants). We found also 2 spots with each 5x Seer of Blood groups (mob from imperial tomb). So we killed all these **** groups, they r not easy aswell, and we got: nothin. Well, no event loot, ok, but normal drops and ofc questitems for s-grade recipes.
Thx NC.
btw not far from the spot there were some more of these, along with Ember. too bad we didnt have enough ppl on right now, some nice eventloot and lv13 crystals would have been nice. btw does anyone knows if event-ember is like normal ember?
edit: for the ppl who dont know seer of blood, its a freakin lv82 6xHP, physical resist group mob with 5 or 6 minions (lv80), not sure, think it were 6, and no, the minions dont have 1/2hp, they r also 6x and ofc all resist sleep/hold)
We just did the same thing, spent 30 minutes killing 6 Sear of Blood groups and non of them droped...Rawr!
Those things might as well be raid bosses. We were just lucky that we were familier with them, or it would have been a total loss.

So far all the raid bosses with "special" functions had those also when they spawned as event bosses (like Longhorn and Kernon who spawned the 75 quest chests on death), so I guess lvling crystals on Ember will work.
near AB clanhall port, under the bridge to cemetery, inside cemetery, in Wall of Argos area, in Devil's Pass, Skyshadow Meadow, outside Apostate, near Bandit Stronghold, near Devastated Castle. Seems to me pretty much everywhere.
I am hoping the 4th of July event doesn't get touched by the Nerf squad.
POOF!!! Not the sound of fireworks, but the sound of the Nerf Bomb. No fear, much like this event, it will probably be a dud.
My theory? Something got lost in translation. The word "heinous" does not translate well. The closest word they could come up with was "mischief". The correct title is "Seven Spirits: An Heinous Event."
...You know things must have hit rock bottom when a person decides to complete all 3 second class quests instead of waiting for an event to become an event. That person would be me. Threw in the towel after 4 hours of trying to locate something my level that would yield incredible items and be the ticket to instant fame & riches. Ok, maybe all I really wanted was entertainment on an otherwise dull Sunday afternoon.
And wouldn't you know it, just as I round the bend to the Execution Grounds to kill Nameless Revenants, lo and behold, a horde of level 50-60ish mobs materialize. I look around and not a soul in sight. I shouted, but no reply came. Could it be? All for me??? I logged off the Shillien Oracle/Elder-In-Training, logged onto the BD and raced from Aden hoping that the mobs were still there. They were. I killed them. No drops. Normal XP.
And you thought second class change quests were a waste of time and resources? Give them a minute -- they're just getting started.
Off topic...
Do the event devs drive around in 1960's era sputtering Volkswagon Beetles with this insignia on the doors? Just wondering....
****
A more constructive post will find it's way in the Suggestions forum. Stay tuned...
Well... I was working on the level 20 class change quests for one of my orcs, just minding my own business and sure enough there they were.
I killed them all one by one and low and behold I got a ton of stuff. D grade Weapon and Armor enchants, blessed rez and SoE scrolls and tons of buff scrolls.

IMO, so far of all the events recently this one is certainly the best, This one BLOWS the rabbit event (they should never do that one again) the christmas event, the L2 Day event and so on. Sure they are a pain in the ars to find but they do give out good xp and poetentially some drops that you would not get otherwise. There certainly could be some improvements that have been said in this thread, but overall much better than any other event recently.
I, for one, have thoroughly enjoyed this event. At last count last night, I have 54 emp scrolls, 30 BREZ, 40+ BSOE, dozens of EAD, EWD, EAC, EWC and I don't know how many other L2Day scrolls. I also got a pair of Boots of Knowledge, a Knight's Sword, a d-grade Fist weapon (can't remember which one), 54 Karmian Stocking parts, and 36 Sage's Rags parts. Most of this will be sold, or used to create over-enchanted items (or crystals). I think I've done quite well with the event so far, and we still have a few more days of it.
The trick is to know when and where the group mobs spawn, and which ones to take out.

found those same mobs on kain as well at south cemetry
we got usual enchants and l2 day stuff from some of the vampires but absolutely nothing from the seers
which was annoying as when u have 5 of those groups right next to each other - its not easy to not have them social and **** you :)
The trick is to know when and where the group mobs spawn, and which ones to take out.
Care to share that info? :p
For fear of giving too much information out, I will only say this:
A single player will have a hard time finding the group mobs, unless you know where to look. Instead, get a group together and send scouts out in all directions. It really doesn't take long before somebody finds something. Remember the areas the group mobs are in. The next time you are scouting, check those areas, because the mobs WILL respawn there again, and in similar-looking areas across Aden.
Also...
The level of character killing the event group mobs does not affect the drops. A level 75 character can kill an event Elpy and still get the drops. (Note that this does not apply to the Raid Bosses). Though getting a group together to kill the really tough mobs in the IT pit or FG is kinda fun, as many people have pointed out, it's not that efficient or profitable. Instead, go find some level 40 or 50 event mobs and take them out. You'll still get good drops and lots of them, and they're much, much easier to kill.

i think the whole point is they made this sound like the raid boss event last year that everyone loved to death but it turns out that it is somewhat similar but with only one spawn a day (in the middle of the afternoon for some reason when most people arent around except euros and ppl that dont work) and the drops are about 1/25th of previous.

That's fine bro i can deal with that, but this sure beats the hell out of looking for a bunny. or maybe getting an S, or even worse...getting a dam tree! wth is up with that

They're spawning more often than once a day. As far as I can tell, the group mobs respawn ~4 hours after they've been killed, but not necessarily in the same place. For example, in one particular area there are 6 places where 2 groups of mobs can spawn. When the mob respawn is about to happen, I run a loop around the 6 places. After I find the first group of mobs and kill them all, I continue the loop until I find the other. Wait four hours, rinse and repeat.

Im not to sure about the 4 hours thing. Unless you are saying 4 hours after every mob from the previous spawn have been killed, except the raid bosses. I don't think that would happen since some servers are killing all the mobs faster than other which would give them more spawn. As far as I can tell I have only seen 2 spawns per day. Every day at 12pm CST and around 8pm CST. I dont know if they spawn in the am CST hours though. I was on tell 4am CST last night and saw nothing.
I do know that the mobs I have been finding have spawned in the same place every day except today. I camped the usual spawn spot this morning but nothing. Almost logged off after an hour of waiting but decided to run around a bit. I only found 1 group in a different area.
If anyone can confirm spawn times in the am CST it would be greatley appreciated.
huh, i figured the same. I knew the noon one was a fact without a doubt. I still haven't seen anything around 8pm. I see no raid bosses, no mobs, no hero chat stating lfg event boss, no town spamming about a raid boss. The only thing that happens at 8pm that I am aware of is the sealing boss around ivory tower.

Ok I should have been alot more specific. I only know of 1 for sure spawn and that is the first 1 of the day. I haven't seen any other mobs anywhere other than IT any other time of the day. But clannies have said they have. I work from 3pm-0230am CST when I got ingame after I worked last night I asked when the last spawn was. They said about 4 hours prior around 10pm CST. On friday saturday and sunday I didn't find any mobs during the so called second spawn. I would only find mobs on the first spawn of the day.
During the two announcments today i didnt find any mobs in the usual locations in the area i chose. I camped 2 the whole night up until the spawn notice (which is the first time this happened right? I never saw a spawn notice until today) and the other 4 or 5 spots, and none came. I even use my own tracking method and have most of the spots plotted out. Now, either somebody beat me to them in the first 5 minutes, or there doing a better job today about being random, which sucks for me personally, but it is fair to everyone atleast.
Oh dam they are doing announcements now. Hmm I didnt see an announcement this morning. I know there is a general announcement when you log in but haven't seen any others. Is this the announcement your talking about. It messed me up Saturday when I Dc'd I logged back in and hollered in clan chat that there was an announcement. Everyone was confused because I was the only one that got it lol. So I relogged and appoligised so they could all go back to grinding LOL.
If they are actually doing announcement at spawn times I wonder if they changed anything else too.

yes, i also saw the announcement and I didnt see anything new. I checked over 1/4 of the map for anything and there was nothing to be found...I thought with the announcement maybe they changed drops and two spawns instead of one or something but not that I could tell.
Nah, i know about the general one when you log in. This one was "A wind something something monsters in the plains of aden blah blah." It did it twice last night between 5 and 11 eastern.
I then got all of my characters placed in the spots i know for the spawns and logged onto my main toon at IT to see when stuff kicked off.
I got to about 3:10 GMT and still saw nothing expect others looking for event mobs. I then suddenly decided to go back and re-read the announcement and look for clues but when i alt tabbed my game crashed so i restarted it and saw the startup image which i had previously just clicked past and not taken any notice of... it was the fline in EV so i thought EV would be a good place to check.
It took me a while to find anything bar the usual mobs but i did come across this:
Im not sure if this is a usual RB for EV or not but it said lvl 74 i think so i thought not? You will have to clue me up on that one... that gave me hope so i went higher... into the hills like the announcment said and found the following:
It was a full group of mobs spawned, absolutely loads, i remember seeing paliolites, lava wyrms, some huge drakes, among other things but only got a quick glimpse of them before agroing one of the wyrms and running the other direction, so this SS is all i managed to get... but it shows one of the mobs, i used all my mp at lvl 45 getting the lava wyrm down to that much hp and healing myself after every fire attack he did, he was hard work but he was sleepable, in the end i ran out of mp and had to escape.
My best guess from the information, about spawns is this...
They do two spawns a day, one initial spawn at around 7:30pm GMT and that spawns mobs in the usual locations... that is the pattern that seems to have followed so far... and then they do another spawn around 7 hours later, about 2:30 GMT and that is only one group of mobs and one RB, that would be what they called in the event description... the spirit that is most powerful on each day (which there is only one of) so thats what the later spawn is for. And i think this is it.
Its weird though, because we all seem to have a similar idea of spawn times, and we all seem to know an area or two ourselves, but i havent ment many people who say they have been in the right place at the right time and seen them spawn?... i myself have only ever run into the groups after they have been spawned, and i watched the spawn spots pretty closely around the usual time.
Lets keep speculating guys because the crappy event guide that nc gave out on this one has screwed everyone over, it leaves everyone, whether weve found mobs or not, wondering the real details of the event. Nothing seems concreate... and by now NC should know thats what we like ;)
Oh well, ill be same place tonight tho regardless haha :)
Good post. Maybe with any luck the mobs will spawn right after the server downtime.
I've yet to see the mobs spawn in the same place, with the exception of IT, at the same time. I've found them in Aden Plains of Glory area and at the Execution Grounds, at the entrance coming from Giran.
When I saw the announcement yesterday, I was in FoM. I quickly ran around to see if any mobs spawned, but no such luck. Went as far as the waterfalls and back to HV searching. Finally gave up and went back to grinding.
Yea i've pretty much given up as well. I've had one group to myself, 3 raid bosses with friends, and 1 groups with clannies (the insane Blood Seer one). But i'm kind of sick of having to be on all night just incase they spawn, and in case i happen to find a group, which may have 3 mobs drop out of 50. Guess im just not in the mood for it this week lol

I also found a group like that one, but in a different part of EV. For me mobs where whtie to blood red so i started working on white to pink while calling for back up. Ended up getting 2 nukers and we did most of that group. SOme mobs were killed by another group of people.
The Raid Boss event from last year spoiled me. I thought Mischief would be similar to that one -- villages under siege by mob bosses and a throng of their minions that appear more or less regularly, only this time the mobs would appear on the more or less common hunting grounds. I met so many new friends during that event. Groups had to be formed hastily, so we would pm each other the minute a Raid mob spawned. Trying to do that now works a bit differently. I pm folks and usually they reply, "No event mobs here, but I'm looking."
OMG! Where is the CHAOS?!? Where is the MAYHEM?!? If these spirits were so dangerous, why am I not scared. I have yet to see one of these "dangerous" event monsters. When I log in, it warns me to be careful, the "Spirits of Mischief" will appear anywhere. Im shaking in my Tallum Boots. seriously, you can hear them clank as I grind my way towards subclassing. My suggestion, GMs, keep the backstory premise but make it a major invasion like on the PTS, but with less drops. Seriously, this event is laughable if not boring and lame. The rabbits gave me better nightmares than the "Spirits of Mischief" raid bosses that are suspiciously geared toward Raid Boss Farmers. ARGH IM SOOOO ANGRY!!!!!
I dont know why you people are mad or dissapointed. By now you should know NCSOFT does not give away stuff easily. And besides maybe your just unlucky. Some people made tens if not hundreds of millions off these event mobs. I made around 20 mil, and a friend of mine did one last night and he got about 5 mil worth of stuff. The mobs hit for much less than regular raid bosses so they arent that hard to do unless you find something thats like 30 lvls higher than you. And yes they spawn, and they do drop scrolls, crystals, and so on. But those are what people have [censored] about and now they gave them. Some people will just never be happy and you know what. Screw you. I'm happy with this event, and so are many people I know. Before you say this event sucks, at least get your facts straight please.
By now you should know NCSOFT does not give away stuff easily
Where on earth have you been? Last years events gave away lots of stuff, the raid boss event(s) (though first was not so good because of town training), the pumpkin event and such.
Some people made tens if not hundreds of millions off these event mobs
Maybe the top alliances and raidboss farmers. The two groups that really don't need events.
Some people will just never be happy
BS arguement. People were really happy about events like the second raidboss event and the pumpkin event. The vast majority (like 95%) liked those events, then the events started going downhill when they really should have gone uphill considering how much power and money are in circulation at the top level of play.
O RLY?? Where were you when people were crying that the economy was going to be ruined, RUINED I TELL YOU, but all of the drops from previous events?
I don't understand what your trying to say, but if you mean when people were saying that the economy will be ruined by the previous events, I was here.
I don't recall being one of those people and I was making a point of welcoming the events and that it would loosen it up. However in order not to get this thread locked I will be on my way about the whole economy thing (::hint::farmersholdingontoitems/mats/etc::hint::aagoingupto3onbartz::hint::).
All in all this event was great and I'm sorry you didn't get much out of it. Some people did and they deserved it.

Actually it is not a BS arguement. It's what I consider true. And so what if top alliances and raid boss farmers got all the items. They have the power to do so. You don't. This whole sh*t about farmers is a mute point. They control the game. That's a done deal. I didnt wanna get into that but screw it.
People complained about exactly that. So what's NCSOFT's way of fixing it? Making events that drop scrolls and give exp. Something farmers don't need. What do people do? Complain about it.
I believe it was splatter who thought or wanted this event to just be a story event. No drops. Maybe just experience and some freekin reason why to kill the mobs. But would that make you happy? No...
So what exactly do you want? More items to be dropped? No thats not it cause then you will complain top alliances and farmers get em all. Less items to be dropped? No cause then youll complain you don't get enough drops. So what do you want? Farmers to go away? Not gonna happen. People to hold hands and hope NCSOFT "fixes" things. Whatever man.
Offer me a clear solution that's best for all sides and it will get done. But you don't have one cause it doesn't exist. Just enjoy what they give you or go play something else. TY, have a nice day :)
Of course it exist, people were for the vast majority happy about the pumpkin and raidboss II event, there were lots of praises to NCSoft about it. Then at the christmas event and forward the events simply went downhill.
They have the power? Maybe. But one thing this game doesn't need is just more money and power in the hands of farmer and cheating top players.
Its not a horrible event, but its definetly not deserving of a high mark either.
PS. Not to mention the fact that NCSoft didn't quite think about what a detrimental effect it can have to restart certain servers alot during an event can have. Both big fights I've been in have been mostly a waste because server just goes down and the event mobs don't come back after restart :/
After reading a few post from today I want to clear a few things up.
Ok if you have killed any event mobs during this event you know that maybe 1-3 of the mobs in the entire group drops anything. From my experience it has been 4-8 various L2Day scrolls usually in groups of 2 and/or aromor/wep enchants, maybe 1or2 QHP.
Last year during the raid boss events (Independance Day and Dark Loard returns) almost every mob in the group would drop event items. Here is what I got from almost every mob. Each mob didnt drop everything below but they did drop 1 or more of the below items.
Depending on lvl of group from newb town to BZ area mobs.
3-6 either armor or wep enchants.
3-6 different L2Day scrolls and it was 2-6 of each.
6-12 packs of compressed shots SS Sps and Bsps.
Soul Crystals lvl 5-10.
5-10 QH, GFA and GMH pots.
Me and 2 friends worked the event every day and found atleast 2 groups per spawn every day. We also got in on a few event raid bosses but not many maybe 5 total.
Then the very next month we have the pumpkin event. Another great event for loot. After the pumpkin and Dark Lord events I had the below event loot.
700+ various L2Day Scrolls.
51 EWD, 60 EAD, 67 EAC, 38 EWC, 11 EWB, 22 EAB, over 300ea QH, GSA and GMH
over 10k C grade SS, sps and Bsps.
over 20k D grade SS, Sps and Bsps.
Soul Crystals
15 lvl 5 of each color 45 total.
11 lvl 8 of each color 33 total
6 lvl 10 of each color 18 total.
All three of us had atleast this much and I know many more people who had this much if not more. I wouldnt be suprised if half the server had this much event loot. Yes after the pumpkin event almost all the event loot was selling for almost NPC value.
A lot of people complained about the events crashing the market. I remeber selling D armor enchants for 25kea. You could hardley give away lvl 5 Souls Crystals. They complained it ruined the manor system. Some castle holder shut down thier manors. People were complaining big time about to much loot from events. Since the pumpkin event the drops or loot has been horrible no where close to the previous events.
Now you know how spoiled we are when it comes to events. The events last year were more than worth the effort to participate in. Were definatley worth the pvp and struggle to claim and kill you own event mobs. Dieing to to get event mobs was worth it. This is just a small glimpse of why people have been complaing about event drops.

The enchant scrolls I sold after the Dark Lord event paid for my majestic circlet (which I got for 70m back then). That pretty much shows how good the drops were in those events.
This event? Today our party of four got two HUGE piles of mobs all to ourselves. After two buff rounds of slow killing of Hot Springs, IT and FoG mobs I walked away with 2 guidance scrolls, 2 focus scrolls, 2 bsoe and a bres which I used up already there because one of the party members (clannie) got killed by a Lavasaurus. Nah, this event won't make me rich, I guess. At least the exp was kinda good.
Im not ANGRY because the mobs don't drop scrolls and crap. I'm ANGRY at the fact that there are not enough of them for us to fight. They can drop thread and stems for all I care. If they are supposed to be dangerous, why are there so few of them. My FREEKIN A GRADE GLADY took out several with some help from KSers cos they are soooo weak.
And ANOTHER THING!! KSers!!! I just love you guys just JUMPING in and stealing my XP!! I don't know if you are aware, the person who does the most damage, gets the LION'S SHARE!! That includes drops. So if you were thinking about trying to steal a MAN'S drops, you know who you are "NO COMPROMISE" from Bartz, you can try. But I caused the most damage on the mob, so the drop belongs to me. Can you say "Failed to pick up Adena"? lol OMG IM SOOO ANGRY!!
Now you know how spoiled we are when it comes to events. The events last year were more than worth the effort to participate in.
NO ! We are not spoiled. Ornery hates me already so why be shy...
There is just so much you can get to with kill these mobs to get loot that's already available in the game.
This event was introduced with GREAT roleplaying elements (heck, made me want to play a part in it, see begining of post for details...). But as it unfolds, it's just a grunt event for people who are lucky enough to be online when the mobs spawn...
They even had time to re-ajust, but to no avail. Man, I could make events while playing Pong at house with friends, where is your vision ?
Make a contest ! Publish the best idea for an event directed by a player. HOLY crap what I'd give to have an event directed by Divinewolf.
Well I had some fun tonight, after sitting on the edge of the Ants Nest earlier in the day (clue in the cave announcements and the splash screen hint) I dove into the ants nest. Found three raid bosses, tons of special mobs. Even the ants dropped sweet loot, came away with 10 EAD, 7 EWD, stacks of buff scrolls, 10 BSOES's, 5 BREZ scrolls, etc. I cleaned out easily 10 groups myself. WOOT.

Well, I for one would love to see the events drop something that would spoil the farmer's business. Something of which there is a definite shortage for a veeery long time already and prices are plain crazy, especialy comparing with the NPC prices.
You know what I mean:
Soul Crystals LEVEL 11-13!! I mean, even RBses 78-87 drop lvl 9? 10 if lucky? Wtf?
A grade armour receips
Enchants, BUT with emphasis on B grade!, A grade for the higher bosses. Mobs could drop mainly C grade. I mean 80+ mobs occasionally dropping a D enchant? Wtf again?
maybe lvl 11 but not 12-13 soul crystals, people go through a ton of trouble to get them. No top A grade drops, maybe tallum etc. No A grade enchants, b grade and less. Definately not a maximum of C grade on the very very highest event raid bosses though.
They could drop Animal bones in stacks of 100 and spoil them by the 1000s. What should i use a buff scroll or an EAC for? Outfitting a twink ?
As european player i also dont have the right Playtime for this Event, so it flys mostly under my Radar. I cold go on and Levlel and dont care about the all so dangerous Spirits because they just arent there. No Fear.

Falexi SE
huh? Well the spawn times are almost exactly 9 hours apart so I am not sure how this event hurts euros
I found one group in the ant nest at the first spawn for Earth spirit... and then another at the second spawn time but i died when some dude trained a bunch of ants on me and dropped a red soul crystal ><
Events like these turn people into savages, it kind of reminds me of sale time in the stores ><
I agree about the drops though, the amounts are good, for each person but the fact is they are quite hard to find, and if someone else has already found them then your just running around looking for nothing. And thats no fun.
I have only found mobs in the spirit areas for the last two days... so on the wind event only in EV and on the earth event day only in ants nest, i heard there were a couple of other spawns in IT, like RB's... did anyone find any other groups of mobs anywhere else? It felt easy the first day or two to find stuff, but since then it feels like its changed, either that or people have got quicker than me at finding stuff ><
Guys we need to get our thinking hats on.... think of an event that will please us and suggest it... together to nc... because all this whining about the current event isnt getting us anywhere, we are lucky we get events at all i guess, some games dont get anything.
Sadly those announcements only come when they spawn, which means you have to be in game (and not even switching accounts or something) when it happens or you miss the whole thing. Not to mention again when the server goes down, the event mobs disappears.
It's not that bad, I logged in to see the new splahs screen again, saw it was a vampire with devils pass in the background, ran to devils pass and found a ton of event mobs. No announcement needed.
way to many server crashes... causing full on loss of all the event mobs....
i've seen just about every server show up as "Down" quite a few times over the last few days..
This event is once again dedicated to those that can play nearly 24/7.... if i'm lucky i can get in a **** good hour... IF i'm lucky in the last few weeks.
I've although manages to get 2 if not 3 FULL blown event groups (50+ mobs).... specially the mobs that multiply into about 5 more mobs after you kill it...
The drops? these were lvl freaking 80+ mobs.... dark red to lvl 75+ players... and out of the entire 100-150+ mobs all lvl 80+.... this is roughly our droplist:
2 B weapon Enchants
3 B armor Enchants
3 Empower Scrolls
5 Guidance
2 BSOEs
And i beleive perhaps 1 or 2 of the C and D enchants as well.
Oh and some acumen scrolls.
That was it.... 100-150+ Event Mobs... all lvl 80+.....
Sure the xp is nice, but the XP actually is correct for the lvls we where if we were soloing mobs that where our lvl. Imo, nice for a change, but still kinda pethetic.. nothing to say thank you over.
The adena, still a joke.
Seriously, if we are killing Mobs that are 80+ lvl, we shouldn't be seeing anything lower then A grade enchants at least, Hell some s grade would be quite usefull at the very least as well. XP should have been 10x what it was, the adena should be 100x what it was. That would make this more of an event... in terms of the chance and number of mobs we had at the lvls we were fighting.
IMO, by the way the event was being mentioned, it sounded like mobs.. currently on the aden ground, would be transformed if not taken over by the spirits to do there own bidding...
So..... in essense, the event would have been like the following:
All monster currently on aden ground could and will be consumed by the spirits of mischief. At which point the mobs being effected will transformed into various creatures in there place and be controlled by the will of the spirits. These mobs will have increased chance of dropping various special items, along with event items. Also XP and SP along with Adena will be increased based on lvl and by a multiplier to suit the lvl. They will range in lvl and retain all the same properties of the mob that was transformed. Agro will remain agro, Social will remain social.
That there would make for one hell of an event. You'd be grinding away and low and behold a mob would spawn, but then change into a much more different mob. I think the lvls of the mob should generally stick around the same lvl the mob that was transformed for safety and balance reasons.. you don't want to be a lvl 10-20-40-75 toon ending up fighting a mob that is 20 lvls higher or lower then you let alone one that is 75 lvls higher or lower.
And Lvl difference will not effect the outcome of chance of dropping event items, only adena and xp/sp and normal drops.
I'd really like to know who comes up with the events and how they figure they are saposed to work. Nothing of what the event states makes any logical sense in terms of what we are seeing at all.

It is strange but as a legit player, these events are a great way to make money very quickly. So, each group of mobs has potentially 10 million adena worth of items and a lot of people are willing to pk for that.
Myself, I very rarely pk but if someone started hitting the mobs and showed up after me, I just might pk them...strangely enough if it is a noob area and if noobs show up, I either give them items or let them work with me and take down the mobs. Its a weird balance of morals lol.
Also, I had the chance to play around lunch time today. It is funny how easy it is to get mobs for the daytime spawn compared to the night when most players are on. I was able to take my time and easily got three groups all to myself but then had to get back to working.
The event wasnt bad, could have been better but I think it took a definite upswing when they started having the server announcements with little hints of where stuff might be.
It's not that bad, I logged in to see the new splahs screen again, saw it was a vampire with devils pass in the background, ran to devils pass and found a ton of event mobs. No announcement needed.
I figured there was a connection as well but it seems the connections apply to only the 12:29cst spawns and not the evening spawns.
For instance, yesterday's was a golem in the wastelands. There wasnt any mobs for the spawn last night in the wastelands at least above ground or by any golems. I also checked other locations that are golem heavy with no results.
