PvPing countless nameless faceless foes over the long term is going to be hard work (boring) as farmers care nothing for what makes L2 a great game.
In typical Player vs Player action the following victory conditions are true for legit players of Lineage2.
1) forcing your opponent to release full xp loss hurts individuals
2) dieing in pvp hurts your opponents individual pride
3) surrending a war hurts your opponents moral
4) dieing on mass hurts your opponents moral
Farmers instead take the pvp position of only caring about the possible finacial outcome from any conflict. They die on mass in hopes some hot head will go red and be prime to drop some high level equipment. Equipment which they can then sell for real money. Farmers are nothingless than parasites in pvp looking for any chance to leech something from legitimate players. In doing this they leech the fun out of pvp.
Farmers take no pride in pvp. They toggle wars on and off to suit any pvp situation. They will die over and over again knowing full well that xp is a non factor when a character is played 24/7 on the same computer by 2 or more different people.
What is by far worse is that Farmers will actively seek to prevent any and all individuals from aggressive clans and alliances from completing their level 75 class change quest and noblese quest.
Furthermore letz not forget that legit players have for the most part far lower activity levels. It has been suggested that a cohesive honest player base could eradicate farmers. But clearly the collective man hours involved would be tremedous to defeat a foe that derives full-time employment working the L2 game system. There is no doubt that Farmer parasites indeed have the great advantage of being an uncaring enemy. It therefore seems unlikely the motivation required to continuously eradicate them could be sustained over the long term.
Even ultra dedicated players of L2 have jobs, girl friends and other social interests that are more important than a game. These will not likely be put aside in order to try and defeat L2's parasites. Farmer parasites who have no pride and care nothing for the fun of Lineage2.

Panic aka Spowned: Soul Taker Hero of Bartz
whenever someone shouts RED IN EG IN B GRADE do you not think to yourself "maybe he will drop!" and even for a moment begin to pnder going to face him?
dont tell me you dont.
in saying your statement, you deem any such player a farmer and a loser,. so bite me, i play to let players go red so they accumulate pok scores and eventually if they dont learn enough times, they will drop something of use to me.
i dont intend on selling it. i wear drops like trophies.

go level, imo and you might understand what he's talking about.
I was standing with my alliance at the vampire boss in the forest of the dead. We wanted to take down the boss but more importantly we were trying to keep the "other" players from taking it. They were very interesting in that they would BSOE out but leave one of their members as bait. They were hoping we would go red because very shortly thereafter they would rush back enmasse. They are sort of like the Borg in that they have very different agendas.
As far as PvP for me, I care less about inflicting full xp loss or making my enemy have bad moral. I just like winning pure and simple. as long as they are not standing and I am then I'm happy with it. Don't care if the game was altered so that they didn't lose any xp. Though losing is fine too as you can learn something from that as well. But that's just my thing.
Oh, and I meant to add: If farmers don't care about xp then you are not fighting them for the right result. If all they care about is an economic result then that is where you need to fight them. But most people aren't interested in the effort that that would take.
It's not a lack of interest Sovrath, it's simply not how I enjoy playing the game.
I have no desire to spend my half or more of my playtime attempting to cut into the profits of a professional farmer crew.
That's not my idea of fun, which is why I play the game. Controlling cheaters is a job, best left to the people with the proper tools to do the job. I personally have no interest in taking on another job, especially one I receive no compensation for doing.

Oh, I'm with you 100%.
And that is what I meant by a "lack of interest". Very few people would enjoy playing the game in that manner in order to wage war on a foe that shouldn't be there in the first place. Therefore there is a lack of interest in playing in a manner that would have any effect. Not a lack of interest in stopping them though.
Don't get me wrong I enjoy a bit of whack-a-farmer when I am bored but I don't enjoy this style of fight while standing around for 6 hours waiting for Lilith to spawn. Not that Lilith will be spawning this week on Bartz because farmers just ninja'd Festivals by dumping all their botted seal stones on Dusk at the last minute.
Bots and/or farmers are really like the parasites of this game. It's really bad for the game economics simply because they are the one who own all the mats and gears. Here is why: adena from a normal player came from hunting or (?). adena is use to purchase shots, mats or gear for the game. Normal player can hunt for mats and craft their gear. But when bots/farmers are everywhere on the map, you will not be able to hunt for your mats, therefore the other alternative is to buy your mats. When demand for mats is high, the prices go skyrocket. Now normal player either stuck with a lower gear or get adena from elsewhere, eg. eBay. Since most of the mats are own buy the bots/farmers, they control the prices on most of them. When you buy mats, your adena goes back to the bots/farmers for them to sell on eBay again. This is really bad for the game economics. Ultimately, we all gonna get tired of hunting our own mats and quit playing.

What's even worse is that you really can't really be effective. We were standing around waitng for them to flag. but they don't. They instead had their nukes B2M so they would be low on HP and then if someone hit them to make them flag their toon would die, our guy would go red and they would attack them to get their stuff.
I thought the whole thing bogus because here we are, about evenly matched and yet if we go red they will just gang up on one guy to get their stuff. Very frustrating. Especially because we had made the decision that they were not getting the raid boss. Otherwise no big deal about going red.
But if a player goes red it is in their best interest to leave the field making our numbers smaller. some of our players did go red and they would swarm on them. So then the red players leave and our numbers diminished.
