Can someone please tell me what the penalties are for being a red player (one who kills other players)? So far, I've only encountered one red player (a necro) who promptly sent me dirt napping. I'm just curious as to what kind of lives these people live. :)
Well, if u kill a white player u gain karma and PK points. 1 PK point for eack pk. The amount of karma gained is based on ur PK, a player with 0 PKs will get for his first lesser karma as a player who allready have a PK count. Ur name is white if u have 0 karma, with karma ur name turns red and u can freely killed by anyone. Also guards will attack ya. If ya want to get rid of ur karma, u have to die or work it off by killing mobs. U loose more karma points when killing white or green mobs, lesser when killing others, just like gettin exp. Its often also necessary to die more then once to loose all karma points.
Another penalty is, that u will have a high chance on dropping ur stuff, even ur equiped weapon, when ur red, but just if u have a PK count higher than 5. To lower ur PK count there is a quest, given from the Black Judges (if im right there r 3 out there in aden, not sure, i always use the one at hardins).
There r so called perma reds around, that r toons created just to PK. Some ppl have fun killing innocent ppl and create toons just for that or use toons they no longer want to play (rerolls, not anymore wanted altchars). They r most times higher lvl then the player they kill, but run around with crap gear, cuz if they r killed they will drop a bunch. Those ppl dont do the Sin Eater quest.
But sometimes u dont have a choice and have to go red. That player, if they r smart enough, wont drop gear on death, they do their Sin Eaters to avoid this.
If you encounter a red player you can shout the players exact name (spelling counts so macros can be used by the soon to be hunters) and as exact of a location as you can give. If you can guess lvl that helps too. Give all that information in shout and people will come to hunt the red to see if they pop any goodies upon death.
sadly it´s not an option to play a chaotic character in this game... it suxx... they put it in the game but they dont make it work.
and I just hate people who kills a red just ´cause he/she is red. thats like yea wow I can kill someone now with feeling guilt yeea woow free pvp and that person cant use any curses/deffensive spells against mee wowowowoow this is almost as good as that wonderfull place the arena >.<
and then they wonder why they get killed every day from that day and forward by an entire clan... all the time saying but but he was red...
I would love if NCSoft put in chaotic players for real in this game, and then maaaaaybe it would add some more flavour to an non existing rpg MMO
