Ok so I'm new to L2 and I have gotten a mystic to lvl 16 and I'm thinking maybe this isn't for me,as I can't seem to get down the whole don't let them hit u concept. I have no idea what I want to be other than a bladedancer however I don't know if this is the class for me.
In past games I have played healer class or a buffer like a paladin in WoW. So standing back and helping my party out with buffs and such does not bother me.However at the same time I also sometimes like to charge in and fight. I would greatly appriciate it if anyone has any suggestions . I would rather stay away from the human class though for some reason I don't like the playstyle of the race however if a good suggestion is made I'm not above trying to work on a human class. Also could someone list pros and cons of a bladedancer. the only thread I seemed to be able to find was everyone talking about what a BD does or doesn't need and it confused me a bit on the class. if u wanna be healer and chrage in everyonce in a while human is your best choice, prophet to be more exact. u get heavy masteries and can use duals. (+ they get return 2 which will save your butt, tons of fun too)
Remember now...I hear in C5 you will get penalites if you are using duals, bow, or whatever that isn't a mage weapon, if you are a mage. I don't know if this is just for nuker classes, but it also may effect healers. Just giving you a heads up.
A BD is a DD/Buffer Hybred. You dance every 2 minutes at the right times, and you unleash amazing damage when eqquip with the correct tatts and gear, but you will slowly sacrifice your defense. So in other words in the beginning you can take a beating but once you set yourself up for damage and buffing you will not want to be tanking mobs for you group. You are not a healer though. You also get hex which helps you party take out singular mobs...good class imo...
So Pros:
Great Damage Dealing Capability.
Parties love teh dances. So do clans.
Wears Heavy Armor
Has Hex and dances so is possible to solo very well...
Cons:
If you go for damage you will have extreamly low CON (HP, stun resist, ect.)
If you don't go for Damage, you will still have low CON because DEs just do, and you won't do as much damage as you could otherwise.
Reroll to bladedancer. They are awesome, and it would of been my choice except that I like the human female (im a guy :p) fighter look even more so than the curves of the dark elf. But when I sub after 75 it will definetely be a bladedancer. They are freeking awesome. Not only do you have amazing buffs, but you can do good solo too as long as you pop haste and heal pots.
The other day I saw a 75+ bladedancer in giran who had haste2 buff and she was swinging her dual swords at the dawn priest so **** fast I couldnt believe it.
I'm currently a Prophet and they are awesome! Not only can we buff our selfs up and others but they are rare & tons of people want them in clans & groups cuz they buff & heal and do some damage not tons but some :)
Thanks everyone for all of your answers..I think I am going to go BD since it was what I originally wanted to play..But if it doesn't work out then I now know I can go Prophet..lol
