Warlock Help

Hello :)
Allthough I have several other chars and am pretty familiar with most things in the land of Aden, I have recently leveled my little human to a Warlock and I admit I am a bit stumped as to several things.
What tattoes are appropriate for her? Can any Warlocks (the few, the proud...) give me advice on C grade then B grade gear for her? She is 44 now and not sure where to hunt with her, also her armor is pieced together from other chars cast offs. She currently has plated leather set, kite shield, c jewels and a +3 crystal dagger w/ crit damage. Not a suitable set up I am sure.
So, any advice etc is greatly appreciated, ty in advance!

tattooes i believe are -8 int +4 men +4 wit -4 str +4 con, but i might have gotten one of those wrong. and also any gear setup works. plated leather is a good choice. on my warlock i set her up for cast speed cause i hated waiting for ever to heal. b grade your gonna wanna get bwlight.

That for later on when you stop nuking. Through out 40th ald for some even low 50th you can still nuke and since you got recharging cat mp will not be much of a problem.
Later on many sumoners assist their pets in mele. How far mele will you go it's up to you, can be just robes+ mele wearpon, or can be +str+dex dd armor (PL or Doom light or what ever).
That set up +wit+men+con is for high levels when you can't nuke any more and dont do any damage compared to your's pet and also have pvp (+con=surviability).
Jilly:
If you were to do +4con/-4str, drake would be the obvious light armor...+con is a defensive setup, why do that then cut your defense for offense with your armor?

I would suggest +con/drake for defense and +str/PL for pure offense. One or the other.
...although I must say that, in your 40's, melee (with any setup) isn't the quickest route. Your nukes still work beautifully.

To the OP:
If you have tons of money to work with, tattoo like a nuker until whenever your nukes start to be marginalized by a lack of upgrades, then switch to the +wit, +men setup above. It's nice, but kind of a waste of money unless this is a reroll or you have the dyes lying around for some reason.

If you don't have tons of money right now, take Ledaa's advice. No tats until high levels.
Ty all so far with help and suggestions. LadyBastet is an alt so money is not exactly pouring in as I fund 2 other chars needs as well. I have nuked my way to 44 fairly well without even using robes/mage weapon setup but i know my time is limited as far as being able to do that in my current gear.
I had thought about going theca for pdef and duals?
then meleeing with kat/kai...kat is my main summons to level with isnt he? i havent even summoned kai yet.
i have seen most summoners in b grade wearing BWleather, but what about weapon choices for then? I may end up muddling thru to 52 with what pieces I have now.
Sorry for all the questions! Playing Lady is completely different for me. Well, my other chars are a PR and an SE so you see the differences.

For B grade weapons, you'll want to take a look at a dagger w/ shield, duals, a two-handed, a blunt w/ shield or fists. All of them work well, if you can, get something with a Health or Focus SA (Health for PvP and Focus for better PvE). This is all assuming you will be meleeing, on my ES I'm using a Homu for better and faster heals (and nukes).

I'm pretty sure that one starts soloing with Kai, because of his different stats and self-buff, but I'm not entirely sure.
Also note critical damage as a possible SA: At least on the demon sword (with which I did my checks and calculation), it adds more DPS than Focus on the Kris does. :p

But it all depends on your playstyle: An acumen weapon can be very useful in tight situations.

I would personally suggest robes, but I know some people can't get used to that playstyle.
my warlock is currently fitted out in pl and a set of health duals. I had focus duals for a while, but they really didn't add a whole lot of damage. I don't spam ss anymore against 1x mobs (or when grouped), as it is both expensive and pointless.

b grade I'm going to go doom light and probably dex and wit tats, to help with my execrable run speed and cast speed. as for a weapon, still undecided.

frankly, any true summoner class becomes increasingly gear independent the higher level they get. just get armor that gives decent pdef and compliments the stats you want, you'll be fine. as for a weapon, it really doesn't matter. whatever you feel comfortable with works well.

as for where to hunt at 44, try alligator island, good xp, good adena and two decent quests. if you can find a duo partner, and don't mind spending the money on c crystals, you can also run through lower part of EV or any catacomb or necropolis with Kai. a prophet or warcryer works real good in combo with a warlock, actually. or get a decent trio going and hit the topside of EV.

my typical approach at your level was start out with a nuke (aura burn, usually), then go to melee at the same time I tell my cat to attack. corpse life drain afterwards to get my health back, and keep going, healing my cat about every 4th or 5th mob since I was the one taking the majority of the damage. doing things that way netted me about 7% to 9% XP per cat, or about 20% to 25% an hour.

as an aside, about adena. unless you're willing to spend tons of adena, it is probably a good idea to not spam ss with both your cats and yourself. although, if you are willing to outlay the adena, dual spamming shots with Kai out plus your cubics as back up can level you up in a hurry.
