Right now I'm doing the cats. with a pole and top PP + SH buffs. I use the PP to pull the mobs (8-12 pcs.). For each pull and I get like 5-7% for each pull (at lvl28 in a party with a lvl28 archer) so lvling is quite good, in the duo party we can make like 1 lvl/hour.
When I decide to go Gladiator, how long can I continue to use Pole and still get some quick lvling before the, missing increase lvl in Polearm masteris will make it useless?.
I was thinking about until lvl 46-49 or so, because I already has a +4 Orcish Poleaxe SA stun on my BH that I can use.
What is your experiences with that?
NOTE : Yes I know I could just decide to go Warlord way, but I'm only thinking about using pole for fast lvl'ing so I can get some real fun out of my Gladiator.
When C4 Patch notes were released, they said that after lvl 40, if you don't get Polearm masteries(Orc Raider/Dwarf/Warlord), you will have a very crappy hit rate. I think that was somewhere in the 40-30%tile of landing a hit with Polearm. Could be a bit off though.
ps: SH has buffs? You're using SH buffs? go go lvl 1 Might/Shield :p
No, the arc is decreased - if you can still polearm with this nerf pre-40, nothing changes after 40.
My friend went through C Grade with a pole (duoed with an elven elder), and it was very fast for him. He switched to duals afterwards, but I don't know if the pole wouldn't still have been faster.
Warrior has polearm masteries, so you'll have partial arc reduction. With the help of wide blow SA on polearm you'll have quite enough area coverage to continue polearm grinding as gladiator.
I am a lvl 73 Glad and regularly join the WL in my clan in pole parties in Dark Omens, Disciples Necro or wherever, and it works fine - so good in fact that I often pull aggro off of them and make hard work for the healer, lol :)
IMO use your pole for fast lvling and then join other parties, like TOI, to make money.
