Firstly I just thought I would pop in the forum and say hi! ) . Im very very new to lineage II and It seems like it has potential .......I know hardly anything about the game though , I managed to get to lvl 10 and my online char is a newb mystic called razekuss.
I was just wandering if people could forward links which have information on passive skills and how to lvl them as well as general info on skills and soloing as a mage. On top of this any links to stuff that will be of practical use to me as I play lineage II.
I like the game thus far but some of the quests get quite hard ......I am also looking for groups about the same lvl if any are available just to do quests and learn the best tactics for grouping. Once I like a game I game excessively and I hope to see alot of what this game has to offer through time.
I was also wandering if there is an actual key I can press to target an enemy as opposed to clicking. The skills I have at lvl 10 are:
Windstrike lvl3
ice bolt lvl 2
heal lvl 2
self heal lvl 1 (I havent included passive skills like magic def ones but i want to know how i can lvl them past lvl 1)
I want to become an offensive caster is there anything could be better with the above skills at lvl 10? ^^^ its just theres no windstrike at the temple magister anymore to lvl it to 4.......why is that?

You don't get access to new skills at every level. Click Library on the side bar here, and go to the bottom link to see when you get new skills and what skills you get.
You will always have to click on mobs. Unless you're standing close. Then you can use the next target key - it's in your Alt+C thingy. But you won't benefit much from that as a caster.
Hi champa thanks very much that skills link in the library part was very useful theres still only one skill im unsure about and its Mana Recovery its still at lvl 1(its passive) and I dont see it in the skills part on the site I basically go to get my skills upgraded at the temple should my passive skills be there? I just find it strange that every paasive skill is at lvl 1 e.g Mana Recovery
You can increase your passive skills at higher lvls. It will be one of the options at the curch.
You should have a look at the skills list for each class on Lineage 2 offcial site.
You probably check that out already.
You wil see you passive skills do increase (at higher levels).... dont expect to have a boost of passive skills each time you get new skills.
EDIT: ie: fast mana recovery lvl 1 (at 25) lvl 2 (at 35)
also some of you passive skills will always remain lvl 1 (perry sure)
Thanks thats good to know I just wanted to be sure as its a hard game to solo and I want to make sure Im as powerful as I can be hehe .......Im struggling to find any soloable decent xp quests near talking island village just now and im unsure whether I should be trying to get to guldin yet .........im thinking the best thing for me to grind just now is oblin scouts I will get there I guess ) the end game of l2 sounds appealing at this point though) with seiges and such !
When you're on your first char, xp shouldn't be your first priority. You should really focus on money quests imo. The starter areas are usually the best for this at first.
I recently started a new char on another server, and I've been grinding quests on light blue mobs just to make money (not using shots unless I get in trouble). It's the way to go, if you want to get good gear.
ahh thanks folks ) .....yeah what i did was the quest for wolf fangs and orc amulets and I did lots of it and gotover 300 spirit shots ......Ive finally started using the shots to take down higher lvl mobs and they work like a dream! I am saving them now though as suggested ........I am at talking village and am now lvl 13 but there isnt really any more repeatable collection quests that I can see near there I guess I will just have to grind green 'con' monsters until 20 or so ) .
I am managing to solo a little better now and I have the top and bottom of the robe of devotion .........I also have a willow staff(nothing special i know but better than the starting gear)
Thanks for the offer of setting me up with gear! my IGN is Razekuss .....I appreciate this but I also enjoy the farming as I guess it gets me > useless status with my mage lol
One other thing Teon seems to be down here .....Im looking for a server status page in the forum but no doubt Ive missed it and its right under my nose)
ahh thanks champ I got a quest from captain glibert to collect werewolf fangs orc amulets but i dont get any xp for it now just 1700 adena ......whos the guy that gives the werewolf specific quest ? That would be great if you could tell me that as I cant see any for a human on the quest list but i may be missing it .....if i new the npc and/or questname I would be able to check
I cant see a werewolf one . I am human mage and am struggling to find farming quests at my lvl - I can kill werewolfs but theers no quest with xp or decent money for doing it. Only one I have seen is captain gilberts one(unlimited q) he gave me spirit shos initially but as mentioned i only get 1700 adena now

But really, you need to focus on money, and not on xp. It comes easy enough at your level. If you can kill light blues without shots or with just one shot, that you get quest items from, it's worth it.
I dun know what lvl the quest is but the spiders on the north end of the island have one and you can make good money doing that 1 and its never ending. you can also use it to buy ss an heal pots and other hunting need

I am lvl 22 and am now killing spiders near gludin and doing okay and I am really enjoying the game ........I see someone mentioned pm'ing them , thats cool I will try but also my in game name is Razekuss and if anyone wants to group to grind xp and money feel free to send me a tell also .......I am always happy to go in groups .........hehe the game has got so much better in gludin ))

Welcome to the game Raze, I didn't enjoy the lower levels but if you are already liking it, the higher levels are going to be fun for you... Not if you don't like pvp though. ;)
Try to get yourself into a clan, that's the best way to enjoy the game.
hehe thanks Im getting there ) Just got to lvl 33 today ......I have soloed it for the most part but the grind is upping a bit now ) .......I cant wait to try seiges and for some reason I was under the immpression I could start getting involved in them at lvl 40 but someone told me today its much higher than that and I was just interested to find out what is the lowest lvl to start in seiges? .
In referrence to a clan well I was initially looking for a big clan but im with a small group of players just now and we sometimes grp , the problem is there is quite a lvl difference now. I plan to see what clans are available again at lvl 40. In regards to pvp although it is infuriating to be pk ......the way they have done pvp on l2 rocks! because in many cases when a player takes on another player they dont know exactly what lvl they are and l2 is miles ahead of other mmogg pvp games with the murderer tag system .......that makes pvp and ganking happen in a more realistic kind of way if you get what i mean )
I must say I have had small patches during lvling and eq buying where things have been tough and a tad frustrating at times but I feel its a case of adapt or de lvl........hehe but when you manage to progress it is good ) . Im still enjoying the game although I really need to start being more social and grping more ) .....lvl 40 is like a carrot on a stick lol
Heres a thing worth mentioning although I love this game , the prices are kinda obscene from a newb point of view ......I am however not denying that they msut be justified , I have also bought all my gear I have d grade boots, the devotion set ......and have recently moved up t a demonfang staff , the staff is thanks to someone I get on very well with on the server and I am paying it back . Anyway Im thinking I need to upgrade my armour to d grade ......now heres the thing I was advised to get the knowledge set nut -15% cast spd without devotion set is absolute dire so I was thinking of buying the next armou set up - karmain set or something. If anyone has any armour they want to sell me for a semi reasnable price send me a tell in game (pm razekuss) or any other hand me downs they want to sell that i may find of use. Money is short at present but I could arrange to pay in batches every 2 to 3 days if that is acceptable.
Lastly I realise this may not be acceptable and if this is the case ......no probs )
You can't wear karmian untill you're level 40. So if you're not dieing too much in your devotion set, you could just keep that untill you feel you really need the extra p.def and mana.
You could go with the banana suit (mithril robes), which has the casting speed, can't remember how much exactly, but it has minus int :-/ Dark wizards sometimes go with mithril because they have the highest int, so they can sacrifice a little.
Yeah champa i have done just that but i picked up some parts of karmain set at fair price, all I have left to get now before 40 is the karmain stockings and I was told by an experienced player they were worth 400k so Im gonna try and wait until I can get them for that if possible.
