What is the best solo class out there? i am currently trying a Elf Fighter. Is this a good one to go with. what subclass should i go. Seems i will be by myself for a while since i havent seen anyone since i started this morning.
SpellHowler
Elven fighter -> knight - swordsinger is good if you like to party. I don't know how well they solo later on.

Spellhowler is a great solo class, as mortova said.

Don't even start thinking about subclass yet.
K Ill check out spellhowler. to bad i just hit lvl 6 though :(
Swordsinger is very wanted in parties though, but I guess you don't swing tha tway?
is it like a dirge in EQ or EQ2? if so i love my dirge. ill look into it.
Oh and i thought Elven Fighters got a heal spell?
I have absolutely no clue.
Swordsinger is a party buffer. They "sing" every two minutes to make the party stronger, with their very coveted Song of Hunter that raises party members' crit rate or with protective songs (buffs). Song of hunter is learned at level 49. You will be a tank from level 20 (knight) but at 40 you become party buffer + DD,

Yeah they do. Elemental heal. But you can only heal yourself, and it's pretty slow.
I have an elven knight myself, btw. She's in her early 30s. I quite enjoy playing her actually, but I don't get to play on alts very often.

Umm i dont have that skill nor am i able to learn it from anyone. Im lvl 7 now i think so maybe it is something i have to wait on. ill check spell list on L2 site.

Yeah that means it is like a dirge but a tank dirge i guess because dirges in Everquest are usually scout classes. But this sounds cool and i wil have plenty of time to find out if i want to do this or not. Prob so though since it will be a party class.

Thanks alot for the help!

Swordsingers belong in parties, but can solo I guess, but most fighter classes doesn't really solo well compared to mystics at later levels.

You're only level 7, still have many choices in front of you. If you want a good fighter class that can solo, consider going Scout at 20 and Silver Ranger at 40, archers do very well solo. Elves also have some basic buffs that help them in solo. Archers are very powerful too, both in PvE and PvP, with or without a party.

Be sure to get newbie buffs from the newbie guide, they last one hour and GREATLY increase your solo-ability. The higher you get the better buffs you get until around level 16 I guess, you can use the buffs up until 20, then you get fewer and fewer buffs per level up to 25 where you must rely on your own buffs. Also, this only works with your first char over level 5 or 6, not sure. So if you create a new char you won't get any newbie benefits like butts, and extra soulshots from the quests.

About quests, do them, ALOT! Try to find the fungus quest, you should be high enough, or very close to being able to do the quest.

Most importantly just enjoy yourself, explore the newbie zones, but don't venture out into Gludio/Gludin until you're around 20+.
My EE friend informed me today, that the fungus quest in LE village is actually the best money quest of them all :) (or it was the best of the fungus quests... either way it's very good! :p)

Oh, another thing. I can imagine that the sws would be good at soloing, when they get song of hunter, with their naturally high dex (crit rate mainly).
I have a 63 SWS, never really tried solo without buffs since C1 with any class, I always duo with a Prophet. SWS does very well in a duo with a prophet, the prophet has enough mp to keep your hp up. But with VR you won't need heals at all on 1x mobs at least.

For pure solo, no outside buffs, an SR will do much better.
